This is a well thought-out, well designed and well run place with plenty to offer to their guests with kids in particular. The traditionally themed room was spotless, spacious and well appointed. The facilities kept the kid busy for hours (horses, playground, running around aimlessly through the hallways). Staff, while likely not formally trained for running a hotel, did their best to please their customers. Food was hearty and tasty. Parking is available onsite. We caught a jazz concert in a courtyard (free) and a local wine tasting event (free), both on the same evening. The owners are doing their best to stay on the map by being original and helpful.
Just lovely. If only there were more such ambitious places in the Croatian coutryside. Highly recommended.

I visited the restaurant in this hotel with a group of food and wine enthusiasts.
First we saw the property around the hotel, which is great for relaxation, and then we went to the wine cellar for food tasting.
We tried silver carp salad with green apple and vegetables, which was a perfect blend of flavours.
After that we tried traditional home-made pasta filled with cottage cheese and carp in vegetable stew - it was perfect.
Together with two sorts of wine produced in this area, this was a great gastronomic experience.

This was our second, but definitely the last visit to Restaurant Lug. Seven of us were there yesterday for a birthday party lunch. We have made our reservation a day before, so our arrival wasn't a surprise, or it was at the end? We've waited for more then hour and half for soups, and garlic soup came with sweet whipped cream?! Nobody gave us couve or information that we'll have to wait for hour or two. Waitresses didn't have a clue when we will have our meal ready. For main courses we've waited for 2 and half our?
We've complained to general manager who was non professional, without any apologies or something similar, far away from that. It's pity, because the place and courtyard are very nice and the rest of food (except garlic soup) is rather good. We have had a nice time during our first visit, but this one was a disaster.
After all mistakes and waiting beyond acceptable, and price of cca. 100 Euros, we didn't receive any sorry or free drinks on the house, which would help to minimize damage done. But, it's OK, this is something what I would do in same situation.

Hotel Lug consists of a couple of very nicely renewed old houses in a cute village of Bilje. It's old-style with all the cozy perks of modern life you need. Breakfast mostly consists in local products, which is great. Parking is free and it's inside their yard. There's a wide meadow with little huts and a playground for kids. From there we could go for short trips anywhere in the area. You're in Osijek in 10 minutes by car, and anywhere else in Baranja in under an hour. It's close to Kopački rit national park.

I visited Hotel Lug for few days over prolonged weekend. Rooms are spacious, with nice bathroom and accessories. Hotel has several places to dine, including wine cellar and large hall. It is missing bar or lounge room. The best thing here is cuisine which prepares great local specialties of Slavonija and Baranja. Food is really worth recommending.
Hotel is situated conveniently between Osijek, Kopački rit and Kneževi vinogradi - places to visit when discovering Baranja.

We were in group of 19 m friend. Hotel accommodation very good, restaurant excellent, very reasonable prices and perfect hospitality. Location ideal to make short trips to Kopački rit, nearby wineries and to Hungary accross the border. Would reccomend to anybody-to big groups or to couples for a romantic trip. Bili smo grupa od 19 prijatelja. hotelski smještaj vrlo dobar, restoran odličan, vrlo razumne cijene i savršena gostoljubljivost. Lokacija idealna za kratke izlete - Kopački rit, obližnje vinarije i u Mašarsku preko granice. Preporučila bih svakome - bilo većim grupama bilo parovima na romantičnom putovanju.

+1
Nice place for kids, mybe, I think. They have horses, pony and many yard childrens game instalations. Staff without smile. I think mybe someone just dead in the kicheen. Onion Soup was not soup but some kind of cream ketchup. Venison perkelt was cold and too sweet. Instead of ordered njoki we got some grain dumplings. Weigter forget the salad:(. As an excuse he will honor the desert. Later it was duly charged. Brad was domestc but old, only the cake (apple strudel) was corect ( too sweet).
As conclusion: the worst meal ever🙀

Response from Karlo-Osk, Owner at Hotel Lug
Responded 9 Oct 2016
We are sorry for staff withouth smile and lack of memory but your review is funny to read and it seems to us that you just wanted to lower our average score. Never mind, we dont have onion but garlic soup which is a big difference. Onion is more like clear soup, but garlic soup is very creamy... also please if you are so disappointed with food quality don't accept free extra meal because why to make bas things worst? And also dont accept excuse gifts from u polite waiters.
