We visited the Peru resort for the first time on the recommendation of friends. Perched on one of the highest points of the hill , the drive itself was a visual treat. On reaching , we were met and ushered into a room which smelt of pine wood, no artificial scent , coming from the room . Even the cots are made of logs nailed together. After a typical Pahari meal,(you can chose from an elaborate menu), we relaxed to the sounds of birds and gazed at the mountain view dotted with specks which represented goats climbing uphill to their pasture.
The property is well maintained with facility for indoor and outdoor games.
The food is incredibly good and the staff are courteous. Most importantly, they are compassionate. While there, our driver was told that his two little children had fallen sick. We had to cut short our visit by a day. When we explained the situation, the management agreed to the cancellation of the extra day without charging us anything extra.
If you are looking for a peaceful stay in the hills with excellent food and the generosity of the people of Uttarakhand, do visit the Peru Resort.

Being a native of Dehradun, our family usually go for weekend short trips around the hilly areas, and Maldevta recently shows promising options for such getaways. Peru resort us a beautiful, quaint resort located almost at the top of a hill, surrounded by lush green trees.
Cleanliness was good, amazing hospitality by staff. We were impressed by Amit , caretaker who took us for a round of the resort and plucked a ripened kaphal fruit for our kid.
The dishes we ordered along with tea were nice.
The view from the room and lobby are unparalleled. Overall, a recommended place for day outing as well as for stay. They conduct a trek to nearby temple also; which will be in my agenda during next visit.

We went to the place in Feb 2022 with our group for a peaceful experience and I really like to thank the team for making our stay wonderful. The staff was so polite and friendly, rooms were clean and the service was really good.
We loved the food quality and taste as they prepare everything fresh as per the order. Hospitality was really good and they never said no for anything. They arranged a bonfire for us on our request where we created some wonderful memories. You can definitely go there if you want to spend sometime peaceful time.
Highly recommended.

This place was a nightmare for us.we were travelling with family of four along with small kid and a senior citizen hence I was making extra sure that they don't have any problems in travelling part.My biggest mistake that I blindly followed the instructions of Ramesh from peru resort who ensured us that this place is hardly 20kms from dhanaulti. Our next destination was devprayag so I asked him couple of times as google maps was showing something else but he rest assured me that this place is not very far from dhanaulti ad you will reach withing 40 mins.

even our taxi driver was very annoyed as he was also given the same instructions.we kept dtiving and driving and then found out that it is very close to Dehradun and not dhanaulti.we travelled for 2.5 hours and finally reached peru resort.now the worst part here is there rooms are approx. 6 floors down hill from reception and restaurant area.i had to carry my daughter in my arms every time whenever I had to come to restaurant area.it was extremely exhausting and tiring.

after this horrible time we got settled in rooms and in night when we were sleeping electricity went at off at around 0130.NO GENERATOR.we spent whole night waiting for electricity to come and it came at around 7 am in morning.my both kids were awake as it was horribly hot in room and there are no fans..

my daughter terribly sick over there .even I was having senior citizen who got fever next day just becoz she was extremely exhausted due to climbing this horrible big steps and lack of sleep.
just becoz of this one resort my four days of vacation went in drain handly a baby and senior citizen

only plus part is the staff in resort are very helpful and good.since we were eagerly waiting to get out from this horrible resort my son forgot his I pad in resort but the staff came running behind us to give back our I pad.So i can say that the staff inside this resort is very good and helpful but others misgude you in all ways just to get the booking

i will never ever recommend this place to anyone.

In short: Beautiful resort, helpful staff and great food (with few exceptions).

Details:
Plan to stay in this resort if you want to cutoff from rest of the world, poor NW ensures you are disturbed the least. There is no major places around to visit, so either spend time with family, taking and playing or just sitting and enjoying the nature. Place is not difficult to reach, just follow the maps. Few bad patches of road but mostly it's ok. From Gurgaon takes 7hrs to reach. Its 2hrs from Dhanaulti and 1.5hr from Dehradun.

Parking will need some skills, but as you are reaching driving through tough terrains it should not be great deal to park inside.
Be ready to walk and move up & down the stairs, specially if you are staying in the huts at the lowest level.

There are no nearby places to visit, this can be good or bad point - depending on what you like. You can definitely take some walk or trek through the road to reach the shiva cafe. One can just sit & spend time reading books. The reception area has some good collection of books. The play area has few indoor games but a good kids play area is definitely missed.

The staff is very courteous and helpful. Sometimes took time to respond, but that was mostly within acceptable limits, specially considering the area to be covered and steps they need to travel.

Started stay in the Huts, the bottom most level and lot of stairs to climb. Preferred little bigger size as movement was little restricted. The setup was beautiful and everything looked clean. Washroom floor is made up of stones, makes little difficult to use, specially for kids and old. As the floor was not even, so I guess cleaning was difficult too, leading to some smell. Surprisingly thr were no fans but AC in the room. The weather was pleasent and no need of ac, but fan was definitely needed.

Due to weekday, the resort was not much occupied, so checked the premium rooms as it was much closer to restaurant and the entrance. So decided to move in thr paying the cost difference, with some discount (thanks to Mr. Vikram & Rajender). Found the premium rooms even better than Huts and View from balcony nice. It had fan too, so ac was not used at all. Both huts & rooms missed a proper exhaust fan in the washroom. The next 3 days were spent thr without any issue. Somehow the angle on which the resort has been made doesn't give full view of valley, as its not on top of hill. In front you can see large green mountains. Due to clouds, I was not able to get a long distance View.

Food made was fresh and delicious. Since occupancy was low, we also got few customized local cuisines. Everyone enjoyed the food, severed on time and hot. Breakfast was limited, and only for 1 day got the buffet (again due to low occupecy during weekdays). Restaurant has a dance floor with music. But I wonder why ppl need it, we are coming to mountains for some peace and again making noise in the name of music is beyond comprehension.

No mini bar in room, so if you want to keep something then need to ask restaurant. It was done without any question.

The trek to shiva cafe is good and gives even better view of the place.

Mobile NW and internet was a challenge. So be prepared for it. Also, keep in mind thr is no near by petrol pump. So ensure before you leave Dehradun, get your tank refilled. Nearest filling point is in Dhanaulti, that too a local fuel dealer.

The way wood had been used and maintained so well really makes one wonder on the effort.

Suggestion to resort:
1. Move away from plastic bottle and keep/provide drinking RO water in glass bottles for guests.
2. Keep provision for fresh juice, instead of pack ones
3. Try to provide better wifi
4. Install fans in the huts, ac is not required always
5. Get better tv subscription packs, as thr is nothing much to do so kids needs it.

- Narrow single-lane approach road from Dehradun (~30 kms)

- Offtrack – Not on the regular over-crowded Mussoorie-Dhanaulti belt

- Huge property

- Secluded to the extent that bird-chirping will wake you up before alarm clock, Or, sometimes for more than 20 mins you wont find a vehicle crossing the resort road

- Basic-category cottages are extremely small giving claustrophobic vibes – May suit a family of 2

- Steep uphill walk to restaurant-reception from Basic-category cottages - ~150 staircases

- Limited kids activities (only practical options cricket/carrom/badminton) – Poor maintenance of Pool table

- Good food

- Helpful and Friendly staff
