My wife and I stayed at Swinside Lodge for 9 days - our delayed honeymoon and it was utterly perfect - just like my wife. The owners Mike & Kath and the staff including Laurent, Debbie & Chef Clive were very friendly, kind, ever helpful and created a totally relaxed atmosphere. Nothing was too much trouble and everything seemed to...

Stayed two nights, 3rd and 4th of October with my Sister-in-Law and partner. The hard work and attention to detail that is put into the running of this establishment by the proprietors and staff is evident from the first to last minute of the stay. There really is nothing to criticise, unless the hot water is really very hot, and...

I booked Swinside Lodge Hotel as a surprise for my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary, having seen the hotel listed in the Sunday Times as one of the most romantic hotels in Britain. Let me just say it didn't disappoint. Having tried many of the hotels in the lakes I would recommend Swinside. The accommodation was first class and...

My brother and his wife had booked the hotel for a meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary having been encouraged by the reviews on trip advisor. On arriving at the hotel we were greeted rather formally at the door by the owner, a limp handshake does not constitute a friendly welcome in my mind and we were encouraged to go...

Hi, Thank you for posting your review following your visit to the Lodge as non resident diners. Firstly, everyone is warmly welcomed verbally into the Lodge, as should be the practice in any home or commercial establishment and as for having the limp handshake as a greeting that brought a smile to all our faces as for those that know...

I wanted to find somewhere special to celebrate my wife's birthday. We love Keswick and the surrounding area and the Swinside Lodge Hotel seemed to offer something unusual. We were certainly not disappointed. This is the place to stay if you want excellent food, good wine, relaxation and good company. Dinner each evening is a feature of your stay. There...

Swinside Lodge was chosen for the family to celebrate a very special wedding anniversary. On arrival we were welcomed and throughout our three day stay we continued to receive first class attention from the proprietore and staff in a friendly but professional manner. The location of the hotel is ideal as a country retreat and the food and accomodation is...

Swinside Lodge gave us just what we wanted - a lovely comfortable shortl break with excellent food and an ideal location for Keswick, the lake and some excellent walks. Mike and Kath's pride in what they do is evident in the attention to detail and the warm atmopshere they create. We'll be back

Our first visit to the beautiful Lake District was all the more special for the 2 nights we stayed at Swinside Lodge. Mike and Kath provided us with thoughtful and very professional, high-qualty service - and friendly information. The attention to detail was impressive - from the initial greeting and reception to the farewell on departure. Food was superb -...
