I would like to say a huge thank you to the hosts for their amazing hospitality! You couldn't have been more helpful or kind. Will definitely recommend to all friends and family. We did the most amazing walk up Cat Bells straight from the lodge following your advice! Thanks again!! PS we were the ones with the blue M2

Hi Sara Many thanks for that, the hotel is not currently open for business but it was nice to help you out. Pity about the weather having had beautiful days prior to yesterday. Take care Kath

This really is a gem. Kath makes you very welcome. The rooms are spotless and comfortable, and the breakfasts and dinners are amazing. It is off the beaten track but like others I think that's a plus. Quiet, relaxing and a great base for walking in the northern lakes, on the edge of the wonderful Newlands Valley. There's even a...

Greeted by the hosts and show to our room. A lovely warm, bright room, crisp linen and warm towels. Canapés are served in the drawing room prior to being shown through to a cosy formal dining room. Kath was most attentive and brought out each course and explained each element of the wonderful set menu. The food was amazing and...

Wow! This place was fantastic! You really must visit at some point in your life. The owners Kath and Mike have created something very special here. Nothing you asked for was too hard for them. I would highly recommend having your dinner there as well. World class food and a chance to meet other guests. The only thing I would...

Dog friendly hotel. Slightly off the beaten track, which makes it very attractive, when the Lake District is crowded with tourists. It does provide a whole package of Dinner, Bed and Breakfast, as it is not practical to travel to other restaurants. The food was superb, though not a great choice for the four course dinner. Vey good quality wine...

Three of us stayed in this hotel as part of a golfing trip. Other reviews have been outstanding and we all agreed with most of what others have said. The hotel is in a fine locations, the rooms were very comfortable, and the food was good. As advertised, it is a fixed menu with no choice but we all enjoyed...

we have walked past this lovely place countless times and commented we will go there one day! And last night we made it, and what a treat is was. The house is beautiful, very tastefully decorated and the food is a delight. Can't fault anything we had. We will going again without a doubt.

We stayed at Swinside Lodge for 3 nights. Had a very warm welcome from Kath & Mike. The room (beech) was comfortable, very clean. Food was excellent, compliments to the chef, although it is a set menu with no choice. The only criticism was that the towels in the room were not changed once. We have stayed at other hotels...

We stayed at Swinside Lodge two weeks ago and it completely lived up to our expectations. From the moment we stepped through the door we were made to feel at home. We stayed in Beech which was simply but beautifully furnished. The food as many other reviewers have stated was exceptional. We have never eaten so well ( thanks for...

We arranged a night at the Lodge but with all the running about of the day we did not arrive till 9pm. But we still got our meal and without little fuss. The food was beautiful and had a wine list to easily cover any pallet along with a separate bar menu. Mike and Kath will ensure you have a...
