This complex has been recently completely modernised. Everything in my unit was new. Big room. Big modern bathroom, and a kitchen with modern, new appliances. Effective air conditioner. New TV with 50 Sky channels. Good bed for me. I like a firm mattress. Simplicity is the one word to describe this motel. Proprietors were polite.

Could have earned a five from me except only four coat hangars, only one bedside table.

I booked this motel because it was convenient for an event I was attending. There have been some negative comments but I found it very satisfactory.

I arrived early, before the rooms were ready but the owner had no issues with letting me check in and get the key. I was also given two 500Mb Wifi vouchers. The Wifi signal was strong and fast.
I went off to my event and when I returned the room was ready. It was clean and pretty well appointed. The kitchen area was basic but I hadn't planned to be coking for myself. If I had, there was enough to manage with.

There was plenty of tea & coffee, again nothing flash but not bad either.

The shower was OK but I would have preferred a mixer control. Trying to juggle with separate hot & cold was less than ideal.

I found the bed comfortable, with good quality pillows. There was a good quality aircon unit which was a boon on the hot, stuffy nights I was there. If you don't like aircon, there were plenty of other ventilation options (we call them windows)

If you're looking for luxury, this is not the place for you. If you're after a basic place to stay for a couple of nights, you could do a lot worse. I will definitely keep them at the top of my list for future visits.

We stayed 1 night before flying out of Auckland. We did read some bad reviews on Tripadvisor but this is not our experience. It is a typical motel. There is no special atmosphere. Rooms are quite spacious and clean. There is a kitchen but not well equiped.
Wifi was working well.
Bathroom is small but the shower was working very well.
Bed was comfy. No extra pillows to use.
I have to say that overall it was a bit shabby but clean. If you just need some place to stay and nothing special it was o.k.
There is a guest laundry with 2 machines but no detergent ( have to buy it yourself) and no dryer. There is a clothesline to dry your laundry.
The motel provides a nice outdoorsitting area. To me it looked like a former pool which was made into a garden, well done job.
The location is next to a busy road so some noice from traffic. It is close to shops, Take outs & restaurants.
This motel is really not a bad pick considering the expensive rates for hotels in Auckland.

Mum and I stayed here back in July, my god I wish we looked at reviews first... Here is my list of reasons why this place is disgusting and unfit for humans!
1. The Room smelt of strong bleach, which we had to sleep in and resulted in us feeling sick the net day.
2. There was mould all over shower, not too mention the pubic hair behind the sliding door and all over the toilet.
3. The plates, cups etc were dirty
4. one blanket on the bed
5. bedroom door was off the slider and just sitting there
6 the owners spoke bugger all English and were so rude it was unbelievable
7 we had zero sleep right beside a busy highway and it was cold due the the heat pump not working properly.
Never ever again... do not book this place its a waste of money. I wish now I had taken photos!!!!!!

We found it to be dirty. There was a stain on the couch, chipped plates, not enough glasses and old cloth for wiping the bench which was stained, mould ingrained in some of the cups, no hairdryer. Also we didn't know the area but didn't feel like the hosts were approachable as when we got there the lady quickly left and the man just nodded at us.
We were there three nights and were on the road frontage with our three children. Not a lot of sleep was had.
It was a great location but could do with loads of improvements.

Our family of 5 stayed during a 3 night holiday to Auckland, choosing this accommodation as not many can accommodate 3 child families, and also liked the location within close proximity to the mall etc.
The layout and space was good but that's pretty much where it ends.
It appears that some of the units may have been renovated but our unit was obviously not one of them.
The room was rough, with holes in walls purely patched, one electrical socket was even hanging out of the wall. Our bathroom window would not shut probably so we had to ensure lights were off to reduce bug visitors. The place was also grotty, the sink etc needed a good clean, initially I thought the old timber etc might just be stained etc due to age but one wipe of a tissue over the skirting board revealed thick dust. The light fitting in the bathroom was full of dead bugs. About 3 blown bulbs in the unit. The crockery was stained and much of it with chips and cracks.
The location and space means with some much needed TLC our unit would be great... but as it stands we wouldn't stay here again as for $235 per night we were terribly disappointed.

DO NOT STAY HERE
Owner speaks terrible English resulting in an error and then charged us for not coming when my booking was for two weeks time. Then charged my credit card illegally based on stored information he had on file from last year!!
Motel was nothing to rave about but customer service appalling.
Check out other reviews for mucked up dates I'm not the only one.
You have been warned.

Response from Myungsoo K, Manager at Sylvia Park Motel
Responded 12 May 2017
On 08/05/16, you made a booking for 5th of May this year. However you did not arrive or cancel the booking as well as the fact you forgot about it. I waited for you to come and because you did not arrive I phoned you. But you claimed to have not made a booking and kept swearing at me about it. The booking for 5th of May is definite and I even sent you evidence. As you did not cancel the booking, other customers couldn't make bookings for that room. Don't accuse me of poor English when you clearly have a lack of understanding about the situation that I explained. If you believe this is illegal then you should solve it based off law, why threaten me like this?

We only stayed for one night after arriving from Fiji and we were very happy with the room. Very clean, good amenities, and the bed was very comfortable. The owner was very helpful in accommodating our late arrival (3am).

I needed a motel with two bedrooms close to Sylvia Park Centre. This fitted the bill and provided clean good value accommodation. Location is close to the supermarket and just far enough off the road so that the noise is not too bad.
