Could have earned a five from me except only four coat hangars, only one bedside table.
I arrived early, before the rooms were ready but the owner had no issues with letting me check in and get the key. I was also given two 500Mb Wifi vouchers. The Wifi signal was strong and fast.
I went off to my event and when I returned the room was ready. It was clean and pretty well appointed. The kitchen area was basic but I hadn't planned to be coking for myself. If I had, there was enough to manage with.
There was plenty of tea & coffee, again nothing flash but not bad either.
The shower was OK but I would have preferred a mixer control. Trying to juggle with separate hot & cold was less than ideal.
I found the bed comfortable, with good quality pillows. There was a good quality aircon unit which was a boon on the hot, stuffy nights I was there. If you don't like aircon, there were plenty of other ventilation options (we call them windows)
If you're looking for luxury, this is not the place for you. If you're after a basic place to stay for a couple of nights, you could do a lot worse. I will definitely keep them at the top of my list for future visits.
Wifi was working well.
Bathroom is small but the shower was working very well.
Bed was comfy. No extra pillows to use.
I have to say that overall it was a bit shabby but clean. If you just need some place to stay and nothing special it was o.k.
There is a guest laundry with 2 machines but no detergent ( have to buy it yourself) and no dryer. There is a clothesline to dry your laundry.
The motel provides a nice outdoorsitting area. To me it looked like a former pool which was made into a garden, well done job.
The location is next to a busy road so some noice from traffic. It is close to shops, Take outs & restaurants.
This motel is really not a bad pick considering the expensive rates for hotels in Auckland.
1. The Room smelt of strong bleach, which we had to sleep in and resulted in us feeling sick the net day.
2. There was mould all over shower, not too mention the pubic hair behind the sliding door and all over the toilet.
3. The plates, cups etc were dirty
4. one blanket on the bed
5. bedroom door was off the slider and just sitting there
6 the owners spoke bugger all English and were so rude it was unbelievable
7 we had zero sleep right beside a busy highway and it was cold due the the heat pump not working properly.
Never ever again... do not book this place its a waste of money. I wish now I had taken photos!!!!!!
We were there three nights and were on the road frontage with our three children. Not a lot of sleep was had.
It was a great location but could do with loads of improvements.
The layout and space was good but that's pretty much where it ends.
It appears that some of the units may have been renovated but our unit was obviously not one of them.
The room was rough, with holes in walls purely patched, one electrical socket was even hanging out of the wall. Our bathroom window would not shut probably so we had to ensure lights were off to reduce bug visitors. The place was also grotty, the sink etc needed a good clean, initially I thought the old timber etc might just be stained etc due to age but one wipe of a tissue over the skirting board revealed thick dust. The light fitting in the bathroom was full of dead bugs. About 3 blown bulbs in the unit. The crockery was stained and much of it with chips and cracks.
The location and space means with some much needed TLC our unit would be great... but as it stands we wouldn't stay here again as for $235 per night we were terribly disappointed.
Owner speaks terrible English resulting in an error and then charged us for not coming when my booking was for two weeks time. Then charged my credit card illegally based on stored information he had on file from last year!!
Motel was nothing to rave about but customer service appalling.
Check out other reviews for mucked up dates I'm not the only one.
