I recently booked two nights accommodation at Clebourne Homestead to attend a music concert in Hobart. On a tight budget, I booked the Stable Room, affordable and intriguing. On arrival we were greeted by Penelope who was friendly and welcoming, taking us to this very quaint little room. It has a beautiful feel to it, nice and intimate and the...

Loved the feel the breakfasts the charming hosts, just away from the city but easy to get everywhere and no parking problems when you get home. easy trip from the airport as well. Highly recommended for your Hobart stay.

This is a historic and unique property run by warm and vivacious hosts Penelope and David. We stayed in the Stables room and were welcome to a warm room with modern bathroom. On arrival, the gates were closed and it would have been useful to have a sign, or to be prenotified on how to open the gates. At the...

Hi. Thank you for this thoughtful review of Cleburne. It’s terrific to know that you found the property, the breakfasts and the conversations enjoyable and it’s instructive to know your concerns. We do sometimes have the entry gates closed to allow the Alpacas to graze freely. We will work harder to have them open when guests are due. We checked...

Loved my stay here - the house is an old homestead (with all the normal quirks and creaks). Was great to stay outside Hobart - good base for trips north of Hobart and very close to MONA. Rooms were warm and cosy - very important given it was freezing outside. Lovely continental breakfast in the Homestead's dining room.

We stayed in the Stables room of Cleburne Homestead for three nights. In a nutshell, we are so glad that we picked this place. From the welcoming of David and Penelope when we arrived late (delays with the plane) through to the rooms, breakfast, location and surrounds, we just cannot fault anything. On arrival, our room had the heater on...

Brigitte, this is a wonderful review. Thank you so much for taking the time to write so comprehensively. You did arrive at Cleburne Homestead during a particularly cold spell, so I am glad that you were warm and comfortable. It is such a pleasure for us when our guests enjoy the heritage, the animals and the landscape of the property....

We stayed at Cleburne Homestead for two nights and wish we could have stayed longer! We could not recommend this property highly enough to anyone wanting a beautiful, quaint, heritage experience while visiting Hobart. The property is located 5 minutes drive from the entertainment centre and MONA and 10 minutes drive from the city. My husband and I stayed at...

Jenna and Asa, this is a beautiful review! Thank you. We are delighted that you had such a good time at Cleburne Homestead. It was lovely to meet you and your son Jasper. We really enjoy sharing the animals with guests, especially children. The peacocks started parading for the peahens yesterday so we expect to have more "chick peas" in...

Firstly our hosts were total characters and very welcoming. Interesting heritage homestead , our room lacked nothing and warm for this time of year. Gorgeous home cooked breakfast with extra care and thought each day. We enjoyed our stay but found it a little hard to find in the dark and rain. Lucky we had the GPS. Overall would recommend...

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Cleburne Homestead. We're glad you found the Barn Suite comfortable and that you enjoyed the breakfasts. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting you both. It was a pity that the weather was wet for your stay. We are investigating adding lights to the entrance gates for a more welcoming approach on...

After reviewing the website we chose to stay at Cleburne Homestead because it looked like a historic location on the Hobart city fringe. Sadly we found our historic cottage not very clean, the bathroom and kitchenette badly in need of updating, a main gate hard to open and generally a very 'tired' property. The traffic noise from freeways that surround...

Hi, Wendy, thanks for the feedback on your stay at Cleburne Homestead. We are so sorry that you were disappointed. Our website clearly shows the layout and furnishings of the Cottage kitchen. We re-tiled the kitchen benches two years ago. This winter we will replace the Cottage stove and re-tile the shower which, as you say, needs refreshing. Guests love...

We rented the cottage for 2 separate occasions and were delighted each time. The sheer joy of sitting under the trees watching "Hank" the peacock do his thing for the brood was just wonderful.
