Had a nice stay, beautiful view over the bay, quite close to the Japanese Shipwreck (less than 1 km but not really recommended to walk it). Simple but okay breakfast, swimming pool is nice too. Inside need some maintenance (shower was more a stream, mosquito net can't close etc) but the bed on the balcony was gold.
+Beautiful view from the mountain to the seashore and vey hospital staff, great idea of the swimming pool although it should be cleaned more often (we stayed during the raining season). It is a good B&B place with the restaurant. Please note that there are no direct access to the beach and many amusements around (other restaurants, shops or spa). - The hotel is situated on the rock so you have to "climb" to your bungalow by steep stairs - they look not very safe during the rain. The room is very plain for a not very demanding clients.
Quiet little resort with great food, fantastic views, very comfortable bijou rooms. Thanks to Joe and his staff for organising our activities and trips for us. Near to snorkelling/scuba and water sports facilities. Good lively bars in Amed. Fantastic views
[ENG] It is a spectacular villa, overlooking the sea with infinity pool, very clean rooms and very good service. You have to be careful with leaving doors and windows opened since there is vegetation around here and we had some insects inside. In addition, to activities such as snorkeling, it is best to take them out at other agencies in the town that are cheaper and more profitable. For the rest, very good, good menu and the staff is assuring that everything is to your liking and clean. An almost excellent location that is quite far from everything, perfect to relax with a spectacular sunrise every day even from your room. Highly recommended. …
We checked in and was not told that they did not have electricity. This is after they demanded we pay upfront. Disco next door that kept us awake the whole night, stopped at about 5am. Place did not feel like s Manager was present. Staff were good, polite and friendly. Good views of the sea. Overall not the best place as we drove a few meters the next day and the places were better, and cheaper.
I thought i booked the bungalows but ended up here. It's so far away from everything except whatever bar that blast music till 12am. No hot water, beds are dirty dont recommend. What a waste of money.
We stayed 2 nights in this hotel. The view is nice, but this hotel is very far and we didn't have a scooter. Only one restaurant nearby.During our 2 days, we didn't have wifi. The staff is friendly but not really professional. The room is spacious but they didn't do the cleaning after our first night. The towels are not really 'clean'. Overall, need some improvements.
Hotel with only three bungalows, and two under construction. Since it is called Rock, no wonders there is steps everywhere for you to enter restaurant, poolarea or your bungalow. The staff is really nice, and there was a couple of them that really stepped up and helped us with whatever we needed!!!! The construction is like in Indonesia style, and by that I mean that you have steps that are 2 inches higher then the other, doors that dont lock that good and poorly pluming. You absolutely NEED a scooter to get around in this fishermans village, and it really is, a village. Three hour drive from Kuta over the mountains, and it is perfect if you want to escape all the streetsellers and "tourist-life". This is a friendly, place for relax, swimming, snorkeling, diving and yoga, and prices are much lower than in Kuta.…
Was there with friends. A plus for the place is the view and the pool area. Staff are welcoming but lack service skills, food is not good at all. Staff have no idea what a breakfast should look like. Facilities like showers and rooms are poor. Wifi is average. We met the so called manager which was ok at first, but then bothered us so we call him for taking us around. Would not recommend to stay there plus it is far away from the centre of Amed,
The people that built this place chose the site well. It sits up on a small headland between the fishing villages of Banyuning and Aas, but not so high that you can't get down to the beach with a short walk. It would have been a challengingly steep site to build on, (witness the large boulder featuring in the reception/dining area) but the result is that from the infinity pool you can look down on two separate beaches crowded with literally hundreds of traditional fishing boats. This astonishing and colourful view is also available from the day-bed on the verandah of Room 1. The air-conditioned rooms are clean and spacious, a double bed downstairs, with a mezzanine level above the verandah containing two single mattresses on the floor. The bathroom is semi-outdoors, with hot and cold water. (Be warned, as is the case most places in Bali, the hot water is VERY hot!) Manager Wayan Joe, his wife Iluh and their staff were very friendly and helpful, and while some had better English than others, in all cases their English was better than my Bahasa! WiFi is available, although the data rates are slow. I suspect this is more to do with the local infrastructure than the hotels service. Although this place is about 8 km along the narrow coast road southeast from the village of Amed, in reality the whole stretch of five or six fishing villages is nowadays referred to as 'Amed', (smart from a marketing point of view). It is pretty much a continuous run of villages and accomodation places, each of which has some sort of cafe or restaurant where anybody is welcome to drop in. Therefore you can still get to quite a few eating and shopping options on foot, while renting a scooter opens up more possibilities.( Joe sorted one for us with helmets at IDR60,000 a day.) The pebble beaches can be hard on the feet, but once you are in with your snorkel and goggles you are immediately over amazing coral and colourful fish of many different types. So easy. The hotel can organise snorkelling gear as well. All in all, a great choice. We mistook our accomodation details when we first got to Amed, checking in by mistake to one of the four other Wawa Wewe properties! It was easily sorted the next morning with good grace and no hassles, and the rest of our four days at Wawa Wewe Rock passed all too quickly. Best moment? Sitting on the day bed watching the sun rise over Lombok and the Gili islands across the Lombok Strait, and realising, as the sun rose higher, that the beaches were mostly empty and hundreds and hundreds of tiny fishing boats were out and about chasing snapper. It was mesmerising to watch them all come back in at about 8.30. It was like the whole ocean was moving towards us!…
