Detailed Reviews
We stayed for three nights and had a great time. When we arrived, Dave took us to our room ("Spry 5") to show us the amenities and walk us through how everything works. Dave is a very pleasant and entertaining guy who obviously takes great pride in his inn, as he should.
Our suite was immaculate; clean and everything worked well, and it also had a nice view of the water. The grounds are also very well kept and the water is a 30 second walk. There is also a nice beach a short 10 minute walk away.
The only negative (depends how you look at it) is the inn is a ways off the beaten path. That however, also leads to privacy and a very quiet experience.
If back in the area, we would definitely consider staying here again.

Outstanding customer service and beautiful location. Stayed for a night and the place was clean and the breakfast was amazing. Stayed with the family and everyone felt comfortable. Dave the owner made sure everyone was enjoying the stay. I will definitely return.

The Inn at Spry sits on one of my favourite hotel properties anywhere. Located on a spit of land the extends out into the sea with gorgeous vistas on all sides., such a great place to wander and then to sleep with the sound of the waves. Rooms are excellent, immaculately clean and well equipped. Excellent and welcoming check in by the owner who obviously knows how to operate a hotel. Great breakfast too makes this weary traveller plan on a return visit!

This inn was way overpriced. We would not stay again for the price.
Pros:
- beautiful scenery
- the outside of the building is beautiful
- large rooms
- staff was quite nice and helpful
- breakfast was fine (but not great)
Cons:
- terrible internet
- far from restaurants and things to do
- mattress was extremely hard and uncomfortable
- very few food options, nothing that suffices for dinner
- no televisions in the rooms, and the one in the common area was old, small, and did not seem to work well
- very weak water pressure

I booked a three-night stay at the Inn at Spry Point. The booking was made over the phone and I was told that ALL the rooms had ocean views. When we arrived at the hotel, we were shown a room with an eye-level view of the PARKING LOT and no view of the ocean. The receptionist, looked sheepish and asked if it would be OK. If not, we were told, there were other rooms available with ocean views -- at a higher cost of course. Now I know that earlier that day someone had been given that room, complained and been given another room, because the number "3" had been erased on my check-in form and replaced with "1". Hence the receptionist's trepidation -- she expected me to be unhappy with the room. When I expressed my surprise and disappointment, she said beligerently, "The view is when you step outside the room". Of course, I was upset at having been misled. Had I known the quality of the room ahead of time, I would not have booked the stay. We were informed that the cancellation policy would not allow us to cancel our booking. Our only choice was to upgrade to a more expensive room and give these people who lied to me over the phone more money. I opted to pay for the three nights and left immediately. The location is lovely, but the inn itself is CHEAPLY BUILT to look quaint. The marketing materia nd the booking staff lie. The customer service is the worst I have encounered in the hospitality industry and I have travelled all over the world. Overpriced. Avoid if you can.

The location is very isolated with no amenities nearby (i.e., within 30 minutes drive). Since only breakfast is provided, you will be driving a significant distance for meals etc. Room was not very comfortable (bed was hard, no TV, etc.). Staff was very friendly and helpful. Beach / scenery was fairly nice but not worth the drive.

We went to PEI from Toronto for a wedding. Before we went to the west end of the island we visited the East Shore. The inn is situated on a point of land surrounded on 3 sides by the ocean. The building and the grounds are simply beautiful. Country elegance I would call it. The rooms are very warm and luxurious. Whirlpool tubs, great views, comfy bathrobes . We had one on the second floor with a balcony. We left our patio door open at night to hear the sound of the waves crashing on the cliffs that were about 100 meters away The lunch/breakfast room is bright yellow and just makes you feel happy and I am not a happy guy alot of the time. Lots of good food, yogurt, muffins , crossants, home made jam on the continental breakfast.
We had dinner at the sister Inn at Bay Fortune. It was delicious and equal to any restaurant in Toronto.
There is a great beach and small park about 2 minutes from the front door of the hotel and you can walk for miles.I also need to mention the staff. They seem to all have a mission to make your staff memorable and pleasing. All in all our stay at the Inn was a hightlight of our trip and there's lots to do nearby, fishing villages, a winery and a distillery where they make legal moonshine!!
If you are going to PEI pamper yourself for a couple of days. The Inn may be a little more expensive than other spots but it is well worth it.

+1
Beautiful.. stunning.. quiet.. charming .. are just some of the adjectives I would use to describe this inn.
Dave the owner greets you and gives you the tour and history of his “baby”
The rooms are fabulous.. king size bed so comfortable..
the gardens are beautiful and add such a nice atmosphere..
Dave will also tell you where the best restaurants are .. as well he directed us to a beach near by which was so quiet and we enjoyed the tides going out ..
I would definitely go back ..

I had researched the internet for a cozy room for our one night honeymoon. My main amenity I was looking for was an ocean view. Upon arrival, Dave checked us in and told us to leave our luggage unattended in the lobby while he proceeded to give us a tour of the building. After planning a wedding and driving 5 hours, I really wasn't that interested. He then took us up to our room and when I said I reserved an ocean view, he said "It is".
I grew up on the North Shore of PEI. When I had to squint into the distance to see a thin line of shore, I was not impressed. We were told, the ocean side rooms were booked to people on a Yoga retreat and then he proceeded to tell us their evening and morning plans, which I found a bit unsettling. He also told us he leaves at when check-ins are done and the building is left unattended for the night.
The breakfast was good, except we were sent to the lower level sans view as the upper level was again reserved for the yoga group.
Upon checkout, I questioned Dave about the description on the internet regarding the ocean view...he said it did have an ocean view.....also he had downgraded our reservation to a standard room from a superior room and never mentioned it. When I questioned it, he said he had tried to contact us but the e-mail bounced back and he had an incorrect phone number. I had no issue with e-mails from Expedia when I booked the room. He charged us a lower rate after "being caught". I was absolutely livid. I have traveled extensively and have never been treated so poorly. I would recommend our beautiful Island but definitely not this property.

First off let me say I wish people would do a little research into the places they were going to and learn about the amenities or lack thereof. This would stop some of the negative reviews about places and that includes here.
My wife and I and her parents stayed here for 4 nights at the begining of August, and were very satisfied.
This is a wonderful Inn geared to peace and relaxation and to spending time with our significant other surrounded by the sounds of the ocean. There are no TVs in the rooms. Website says this. It is 20-25 minutes away from anywhere. Also stated. This was fine for us. It does make for same planning, but hey if you know this going in, and you accept it, you have nothing to complain about.
The peace and quiet, was unparrelled and due to the lack of light pollution, the stars at night were amazing. It does not have a dining room, so yes, palns have to made for dinner. Again, knowing this before coming, you won't be surprised. Each room has a fridge, so you can buy snacks and drinks and bring them in. David (Inn keeper) also has a charcuterie available from 2 to 8.
David is a wonderful person who takes great pride in the Inn and will do whatever he can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. He works very long hours but has the same smile on his face at 7 am as he does at 9 pm.
Breakfast is standard, but satisfying. Grab a coffee, juice and plate and go outside at eat staring at the water.
Rooms are functional, and spacious. They do not include luxury furnishings, 1000 thread count linens etc., but are very clean, and there are nothing wrong with them. I would say that they match the feel of the Inn. I would recommend a balcony facing the water. It was wonderful to leave the doors open at night and have the sea breeze come in. House keeping did an excellent job.
All in all if you are looking for a place that is quiet, reserved, romantic, has a great view and a place you disconnect from the world this is it. If you need modern amenities, TVs and need to be close to things, this is not your place. We loved it so much that we may be going back next year.
