We stayed just after Easter and it was quite quiet, just one other couple. I gather it had been busy over Easter though. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, a great service all round. We had one tour already booked with an external agency, but the staff were happy to suggest and arrange an additional activity for us....

Many thanks for taking the time to review your stay at the lodge. All the management and staff here really do appreciate guests' feedback on their visits. A number of our past guests have arrived with no particular interest in birds but have their interest awakened by all the species around the lodge. We hope you will both enjoy the...

We had 2 hours before our Mayan cooking lesson, so we stopped here for tubing. The property was simply beautiful. Everything was well maintained. The Tubing was only $11 belize per person. We got in and floated down the river. Birds, lizards, and other creatures could be seen and heard in the jungle around us. about 3/4 of the way...

The owner actually told us that "Americans have ruined Belize" and that "All locals are stupid"! Enough said. I won't be back. Nice cabanas. Tubing on the river. Cocktails at 5:30. But not all safes are functional and there was some eveidence of tampering with our luggage, so don't let your guard down.

I strongly contest these remarks by this guest. The remarks attributed to me are a complete fabrication. The fact that he puts my supposed comments in quotation marks does not mean that I have ever uttered any such comments and nor would I. The lodge takes pride in only employing people from the neighbouring village of Big Falls. While the...

If you want to feel like a traveler and not a tourist, then the Lodge at Big Falls is the place to stay! My husband, our nine year old son, and I stayed 5 nights there in Feb 2016, and could not have imagined a greater experience. We strive to find the out-of-the-way places where we can see a country...

Stayed here for a night as part of a tour. The cabanas are lovely and ours overlooked the river, which was a treat. Took part in tubing down the river. It was a relaxing ride looking up at the trees and lazing along. The dinner we had at the lodge was excellent and sitting on the front deck sipping a...

We stayed here 4 nights, after spending a couple weeks up north in the Orange Walk area, and found this to be a wonderful base for birding in less-visited southern Belize (with Steven, a sharp local guide arranged by the lodge). A small river and broad-leaf forest surrounds the property, with wildlife like neotropical river otters and agouti, and numerous...

Lodge at Big Falls- I spent four days at the lodge before heading north to Ambergris Caye. Had rain most days but was able to arrange two tours with Steven. He was a wonderful guide to Ixcacao Chocolate Farm. The entire staff at the lodge was great. The thatched cabana I stayed in was perfect with view of the river....

My group and I stayed at Big Falls Lodge before heading out for three nights of camping. It was exactly what we needed before entering the wilderness! Great food, comfortable bed, hot shower and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling in that area.

My wife and I had an incredible vacation in Belize at the Lodge at Big Falls. We scheduled the trip in early June, 2015, which every tour book said was a bad idea, it being the start of the rainy season. It did rain some, but not enough to spoil our vacation and the rain helped cool us off. Estevan...

My husband and I stayed at The Lodge at Big Falls for three days and nights at the start of our honeymoon. Steven was an incredible guide who taught us so much about Belize. Our adventure to Monkey River where we met another guide named 'Rambo' is something we will never forget. Each day began with a tasty breakfast and...
