Really nice guest house. The owners are very down to earth, and easy to start conversation with. The island is surrounded by coral reefs which is perfect for either diving or snorkelling. Just remember to bring a shirt to snorkel in, so you dont get...More

My partner and I, were volunteers on the island of Velidhoo. The island can be reached in little over an hour from the capital Male, using seaplane and speedboat. There is also a very reasonably priced night boat from the capital running regular trips throughout...More

Maldives are overall very expensive and you only see a beach and a palm tree. Staying at Palm Villa is not expensive, you get to know the local culture, they are serving great meals (Karin and Kartsten were both top-chef's in Europe), and they help...More

        Mitch H
Hi Karsten. You may vaguely remember me from 2011 when myself, two South African girls, an Australian and a Daninsh guy spent close to 6 weeks volunteering on Velidhoo Island through Volunteer Maldives helping with various tasks in the local school in April/May of 2011. I was absolutely blown away by the scenery and all that the Maldives (Velidhoo) had to offer and we all had a few meals courtesy of you and your lovely wife that were incredible to say the least. I am writing to you to see if you are still running the guest house and whether there are longer stay options available at Palm Villa (4-5 weeks) as I'd love to return and see how things have changed over the past few years. Thanks in advance, Mitch Henderson
