Detailed Reviews
We had planned on spending a night in a desert camp in Jaisalmer but Manvar, which is halfway between Jaisalmer and Jodphur, was highly recommended to us. Because we had to catch an early morning flight from Jodphur this made sense. Manvar Camp was a bit more expensive than the well reviewed camps in Jaisalmer, but it was worth every rupee. The tent itself was beautiful - as lovely as any of the heritage properties where we stayed throughout Rajasthan. Weirdly, we were the only guests there at the time and the large staff showered attention on us which was almost embarrassingly solicitous. We opted for the jeep safari which was fantastic! Throughout the two hours we slid down sand dunes, spotted wildlife, visited local villages including a local home, and learned a lot about life in the desert. Did I mention a spectacular sunset?
The evening brought a musical program which we attended in comfort with plates of hors d'ouvres being delivered constantly along with cocktails and fresh fruit juices. Then came a sit down dinner. By bedtime we were stuffed to the gills. We had an early morning departure but the staff was up at 5 AM to cook us breakfast which they insisted that we bring with us. What a stay! HIGHLY recommended.

Had an amazing stay at Manvar Desert Camp organised by Tikka Tours Australia, we enjoyed sundowner drinks on the dunes followed by a traditional Rajasthan music and dancing group. The dinner and breakfast was delicious and we’ve throughly enjoyed our stay in the well appointed glamping tents. Chima and Sawai were also very attentive in serving our needs. Well done Manvar Desert Camps!!

The highlight of the trip was the evening programme ,where we witnessed amazing performances from the exceptional artists .It really was a special experience .
Also, the best service that we have ever experienced .The staff went an extra mile to make us feel welcomed and comfortable.Mahendra ji made sure our desert safari was memorable .But special mention has to goto Chima ji who simply elevates the experience with his hospitality and presence of mind. He is proactive, extreme courteous and professional. We used to look forward to being greeted by him.
Now, the let downs. The first one was the spa. Which cannot be called one given the level of hygiene. We stayed in the property for two days, and felt that the property should have some activities to keep the guests engaged like a small library, etc

+1
My wife and I have done a few desert camps in our life time, but honestly, this one was head above shoulders.
The hormones of the staff, the cleanliness stripped some of the hotels that we’ve even stayed at, the food and the ambiance was far beyond our expectation.
Jitendra and his merry crew and Ramzan the barman know what hospitality is
The owner, who we did not meet, knows how interior design ought to be.
The place is truly divine.
Please visit it!

Very comfortable tents with the comfort of a bedroom: very careful choice of furnishings, fabrics, dinner with musical entertainment. The jeep excursion in the desert was beautiful. Excellent breakfast and dinner under the stars which can be seen here without light pollution.

This place is beautiful and secluded. An ideal place to relax, unwind and recharge from India’s fast-paced cities. The staff are wonderful and the rooms and food up there with the most comfortable and delicious we have enjoyed on our trip. We would come back for these things alone but the stylish design of the camp and the birds and wildlife make this desert hotel a truly special and unmissable destination. Highly recommended.

This Desert Camp is everything one could wish for to get a break from the busy city visits in India. It‘s like an Oasis in the living desert. The Staff is very friendly an attentive. You can enjoy the sunset and sunrise either on the back of a camel or during a jeep safari and that way you also get to see the local ways of living. Dont miss out on this experience when traveling Rajastan!

My wife returned to this camp after 25 years. This time with me in tow. The tent we stayed in was super comfortable. We slept very well as the desert is quiet. Sunrise and sunsets are spectacular. We dis a sunset jeep safari which included a local village. We also did a camel ride for sunrise which was spectacular. The staff was very attentive and very nice. We enjoyed the evening traditional music and dance in front of a camp fire which was very romantic. We would highly recommend coming here for a romantic getaway desert experience.

An oasis in the midst of the dessert. The staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The jeep safari, camel ride to watch the sunset and the evening cultural program were enjoyable. The food was superb and the staff ensured it suited our tastes. Overall a superb experience - well worth a repeat.
