This hotel only looks good because it's located within a national park and when you enter you go through the bar and the pool first then to the room. The rooms are like small huts within the area. Some of them are only separated by wooden sheets, so you may hear everything! Passing by outside. The rooms are terrible. Some...

We spent 4 days in Palenque, and even though making reservations was tough (back and forth emailing, requiring bank wire transfers), we made it no problem with a reservation without a deposit needed. The good: Location! Walking distance to the ruins (15 minutes), beautiful pool, the nice sounds of birds (We even saw a pygmy owl) and howler monkeys (you...

Right next to the ruins, jungle, waterfalls and museum, so a fantastic location. The food and service overall was great with live bands playing while you eat. However you have to listen to your name called out and collect your food. There is a pool and great area you can sit, relax and listen to the howler monkey :D The...

We stayed in a double room (1 double bed+1 single bed). There was a small desk and chair, plus a shelf for clothing. Our room had an upright fan, which was nice as we didn't have air conditioning. The bathroom was tiny. I even had to open the door to bend over the sink to wash my face. The shower...

Crazy howler monkeys sound like scary ghosts at night but utterly charming. Not easy to get there, 8 hrs from Merida, but close to ruins, which are amazing! Wish had free day to swim in cold pool, but on a tour. Inexpensive food, nice full bar area but smokers should be seated away from others eating. Musicians nice but too...

Very nice stay next to the jungle. Rooms were ok and near by the main attractions. Excellent cocktails and food and good music every night. People very nice and helpful. Definitely a different experience!

Very nice and cosy hotel with a swimming pool near the jungle. You can hear the monkeys in the jungle and have a beautiful view on the stars at night! Also a very good restaurant for all meals of the day. Simple but confortable rooms but we didn't have running water in the mornings and you have to wait about...

I stayed here on a G Adventures group tour. This was a fun rustic location. I really liked the gorgeous green jungle setting. We could hear howler monkeys. The pool was great for cooling off but is rather shallow. Still we had great chats and it's something to do. There is no wifi at all. Guides can use it but...

My favourite things about this hotel were the location (in the jungle and near palenque ruins) the pool ( had a lot of fun relaxing here in the evenings). My room was comfortable, the food in the restaurant was good ( though service was a little slow at times ) it would have been better if the wifi worked, otherwise...

My stay at the Mayabell was very pleasant. The pool is nicely located and sometimes you get a good view on the monkeys in the trees surrounding it. There were some leaves in it, but when your surrounded by jungle you'll always have some in the water. Rooms are rustic but the beds are more then decent. Had a cockroach...
