There are many options for hotels in Palenque. This one looks the best for us. The guy at the reception desk speaks some English but not fluently. We arrived at 8am and they let us check-in, that´s really helpful. There´s a small swimming pool in the hotel, but I didn´t try it because it looks a little dirty. The room...

The Maya Tulipanes is a nice, clean, well maintained hotel, with swimming pool, restaurant, and bar in the middle of Palenque, easy walking distance to restaurants, downtown shopping, and the attractions surrounding the town. The staff was exceptionally nice and accomodated some special requests with smiles all around. We'll definately go back as we visit this area of Mexico fairly...

The first night we didn't sleep at all. They had a dance going on for Valentine's Day and the music was loud. They moved us to another room the next night. It was quiet but alot smaller. It was alright by Mexico standards. Not resort. The food was good. The waiter Mateo was great. His English wasn't great but he...

After the grueling trip from San Cristobal de las Casas to Palenque (280 km and 200 speed bumps!), our arrival at Hotel Maya Tulipanes was a welcome relief. The rooms were clean, air conditioned, and comfortable. Since we were exhausted, the television (the first TVs we'd seen in a week) was a great diversion. There's also a couple of computers...

Good clean hotel. We turned up on the day and got a pretty good rate considering that the hotel was busy. The rooms are basic but nice and very clean. The energy saving light bulbs might make them look a little sterile and hospital-like, but they are an environmentally friendly hotel. The hotel is located very close to the Palenque...

We chose a king size bed room on the third floor. Room, furniture, air conditioning and bathroom were new. It is a bit expensive but nice. The pool is very small (and so not too clean in the afternoon) and common spaces not so wonderful. However the hotel position is good, not right in centre of the town but in...

We stayed at the Maya Tulipanes hotel for a couple of nights. Although our room was pretty simple, it had a good A/C unit, a TV and a perfectly decent bed. Since it is in a semi-rural environment, the small ants around the place were not a surprise, and no particular bother for us. The hotel has a good restaurant...

We stayed at Maya Tulipanes for one single night in September 2007. There were few guests at the time - lucky for us since we needed to change 2 rooms before finding one suitable more or less. The first one was smelly, the second - little and smelly and the third - the one we finally took - was large...

We were meant to be staying two nights in Palenque, fortunately we changed it to one when we found out that a night bus left for Chichen Itza as we would have had nothing to do in the town for another day. Fortunately the hotel had a lot of space to just sit around and read or relax, even a...

Recently stayed here one night on our way to visit Palenque I am surprised by the positive reviews on this site and also in the Lonely Planet Guide Interms of location i am sure it is ideal for the tour operators however despite being billed as a 4* hotel for me it would not get a 2* rating or from...
