Wanted a place to stay within driving distance of Mayan ruins and waterfalls. This couldn't have been a better choice! Family owed and run by father and son. Clean, comfortable rooms with everything you would need. Wonderful home cooked meals of local influence prepared each evening. Great Hospitality in a rural setting with a chance to learn about the local...

We stayed for 3 nights at the ranch in February! If you are fortunate enough to get a room for the night, consider yourself lucky! Our host (Cirrus, I may have spelled his name incorrectly) could not have been better! He was very attentive to our needs and ensured we were very satisfied with everything! The room itself is a...

We arrived in the middle of a storm without a reservation and the owner attended us as if we were family. The place is fantastic and beautiful, the cabin was really comfortable, spacious and full of details on the walls and the bathroom, I wish we could have stayed longer. They serve a big breakfast early in the morning for...

Stayed here for one night, wish we could have stayed longer. Our cabin was spacious and very nicely appointed. The bed was extremely comfortable. The cabins are very interesting in that they incorporate natural materials in their decor. This includes much stone work, bamboo, wood etc. The grounds are extensive and are a great spot for birding. They have a...

We had a fantastic stay with Willy and his family. We felt like honored guests, the entire family could not have been more welcoming, making us feel like much loved relatives. After a day's work on the ranch, they took the time to host us, feeding us with delicious simple Mexican cuisine, sitting with us, telling us about themselves and...

This is by far the best option in the region near Yaxchilàn and Bonampak. It is actually worth it to go there and spend a couple of days there relaxing. Great food. At night, you can stay in the empty restarurant in the dark, which it can be awesome.

We have stayed here a few times but not since 2008. It was wonderful to see the new cabanas that Willy and his sons have built. They are totally unique using the local river stone to form walls and bathrooms. All the rooms we saw are airy and quite private and there is a gurgling stream running outside each cabana....

I get no credit for picking this place. I was in a tour group. But whoever chose it hit the jackpot for us. Seriously in the middle of nowhere there is this neat little cluster of custom rooms that nearly defy description Each of our rooms was large with different beds, depending. Our was a king and was fair for...

Come here if you'd like to visit a working ranch surrounded by rather thick jungle. We were a group of 11 people of all ages, and we all had a great time. Highlights: Listening to owner Willy Fonseca speak about his family history, the nearby ruins and the region of Chiapas. Drinking tequila distilled by Willy's family in Jalisco state....

My family and I spent here the New Year's Eve and the previous and following day. We spent here a wonderful time: rooms are lovely and very special, the nature all around the ranch is overwhelming, green everywhere and you can hear (and if lucky as we were you can also see) the monkeys too! The food is delicious and...

“Technically Vallescondido does have wi-fi, but only around the office and even there it is lame. Don't count on it. The one person in our party with a room near the office had reception in his room.”
