I travel to Tanzania quite often because I love the country and its people, and have therefore already seen and experienced quite a lot. The Mgunga Tented Camp is one of the most beautiful experiences ever! 10 large tents are spread out more than generously over an area that feels like a small German town. The staff is professional, friendly and totally accommodating, the chef deserves at least a Michelin star. In the evenings, you can enjoy your sunset drink on the terrace in the style of Hemingway while the lions walk past about 100 meters in front of you. The Masais take meticulous care to ensure that no "accident" happens between the tent and the restaurant. An incredible safari experience! What else you should know: The lodge is off the beaten track and you should allow a bit of travel time. But it's worth it. The Serengeti is at your feet and you are rewarded with absolute peace and quiet! You can't go wrong here!!

My experience at Mgunga Serengeti Camp surpassed all expectations, an unforgettable retreat amidst the stunning Serengeti landscape. At the core was the hospitality of the staff members who radiate warmth and genuine care. From the moment of arrival to departure, their commitment to guest satisfaction shines through.

I was amazed by the creativity of the chef who served vegetarian options for breakfast, dinner, as well as for boxed lunch. The full bar complements the culinary excellence, offering a wide array of beverages including speciality cocktails. Whether enjoying a sundowner amidst the vast plains or winding down after a day of exploration, the bar adds a delightful touch to the overall experience.

Comfort is paramount at the Mgunga Serengeti Camp, with spacious tented accommodations and the luxury of warm water and soft beds – a welcome surprise in the heart of the wilderness. The staff's meticulous attention to detail ensures that every aspect of the guest experience, from housekeeping to guided activities, is seamlessly executed.

The camp is a testament to impeccable service and a commitment to creating a harmonious blend of luxury and nature. It stands as a beacon of hospitality in the heart of the Serengeti. I cannot think of a better way to experience Serengti than by anchoring the trip at the Mgunga Serengti Camp.

This place is a Gem!!!! It is secluded and fits right in with the nature around it. I’m happy to say, it is solar powered and recycles their water. The staff are So kind and attentive, and the chef is Top Notch! We have enjoyed every meal tremendously. (I have gained a few lbs). We feel like Royalty in our Luxury tent which has a Huge very comfortable bed and large bathrooms. The views from every window are spectacular with the Serengeti all around you. We absolutely will return to this Mguna Paradise!!❤️❤️❤️

We stayed in one of these beautiful camps for one night last week and I would highly recommend it. Mary was our host while we stayed and she was just wonderful. Joseph was the Maasai Warrior that worked on the camp who was so kind and gentle. He kept us safe at night when we were returning to our camp after dinner. We got to experience a Thunder and lightning storm and the Lions roaring during dinner and at night it was so exciting.. It was an amazing experience. The camp is beautiful and well equipped. It was even warm at night which I did not expect. It rained all night during our stay and you would not think it was raining outside. The food in Africa went well beyond all our expectations but the food in Mgunga was the best meal we got during our 2 weeks stay. We even got to meet the Chef which was a lovely touch. If you want the real experience of staying in the Serengeti I would highly recommend this place to experience just that.

My stay at Mgunga Serengeti Camp exceeded expectations. For being in a remote location, the amenities and the views of the luxury tent were superb with great attention to detail. Eco friendly and sustainable practices abound. The staff was friendly and attentive to my needs. Breakfasts, dinners and packed lunch hit the spot. Stay was as memorable as the day trips through the Serengeti.

Definitely the most lovely staying of our Safari trip. All the team was extremely kind, professional and warm with us and our 8 year old kid. They welcomed us exposing how the tented camp works, and they showed us our luxury tent. The tent is very comfortable, with soft and wide beds, mosquitos nets and a huge elegant toilet: it didn’t almost seem to be in a tent, it was extensively relaxing. During the night you could hear Savana’s rumors, it was very romantic and definitely what we were looking for.
The dinners ( we stayed here for 2 nights) were relaxing and funny, and food was delicious. The second dinner we asked for wine, fantastic!
Lastly, the most amazing experience: when we woke up after the second night, we have been welcomed by elephants. Having breakfast with them was definitely something will be forever in our hearts. We will remember forever our staying here, and recommend to everybody to enjoy the real Serengeti experience by staying here.

Last week we did a Safari Tour in Tansania. The highlight was the 2 nights at the Mgunga Lodge in the Serengeti. It‘s the best place to be and the most beautiful place we‘ve ever been!!! This Lodge, in the middle of a wonderful nature, is absolut fantastic! The tents are luxury with a bathroom and an extra room for the shower and toilet. We were glad to have the family tent, which was very large and we had more than enough place! Everything is very clean and stylishly chic and you can feel the life of Afrika!
Small ways guids you from your sleeping tents to the main tempt with an dining room and a nice bar. Massai people accompanys you on the ways. When we arrived at the Lodge, we were welcomed by a traditionell song. The working staff are very friendly and always helpful.
It is an absolutly greatful experience to sit at the nice fireplace and enjoy a sundowner while listening and enjoying the nature. The dinner is delicious and comparable with a dinner in an upper class restaurant. Everything orientats at high standards. Our son also loved this Lodge and enjoyed our stay. It‘s absolutly possible to see zebras or hyenas while dining!! What an memorable adventure!
We will never forget! And we are sure, we will come back!!!
