We have just returned home from a 2 week stay at Amari where we had a fantastic time. It is a trek and an half to get here, including travel to the departure airport which for us was 2 1/2 hours to get to Manchester, the wait at the airport, the first leg to Abu Dhabi, the wait for the next leg to Male then the 4 hour flight, the wait for the domestic flight and then the speedboat took approximately 28hours outbound and 26 hours inbound. Is it worth it? Yes we believe it is, overall it is a really good value for money resort. The island itself is really pretty with a lovely lagoon which has got many shades of blue, I spent many an hour just staring at it has it was that nice. The sunset side does have areas of erosion due to Mother nature but the staff are trying to move sand from one side of the island to the other to rebuild. The villas are well appointed, modern and has a nice standalone bath and 2 showers, one indoor one outdoor. Our room was positioned on the sunrise side which currently has the best part of beach, the villas are private with a lovely garden and beach area on that side currently on the standard sunrise area. Before arriving I read a few reviews and comments that said the food was poor, we personally found the food good and of a similar quality to the other two resorts we have visited at a similar price point (Vilamendhoo and Veligandu) There was plenty of choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner and the food was always tasty, I never had something I didn’t like during the 2 week stay. Service wise I did find this to be an area that could be improved upon compared to the other resorts we have visited. We found the service could be slow at times in the main restaurant and some staff didn’t look particularly happy or engaged or willing to chat, a few times we were left waiting 15 minutes for a drink which was unheard of at the other resorts, I think possibly they could need more staff as they seemed rushed. The same could be said at times in the main bar, again I think it could be due to not having enough members of staff out serving. I would say a numbers of members of staff bucked that trend and were very, very good at their job. Aufal in the restaurant was efficient and personable. Eaint in the main bar was particularly good at her job and couldn’t do enough, worked extremely hard and did so with a smile on her face. She is destined for big things. Vikas in the bar again was very efficient Faruhan was an absolute delight to chat with and very good at his job, naturally chatty and such a genuine guy. Shanoon the security guard was again someone who seemed happy in his work, chatty and a pleasure to deal with. Nagesh our host did a fantastic job of telling us of anything going on and asked us daily how we was, he was a gentleman who took pride in his work and is a credit to Amari Shabaz our room boy again was friendly, personable, did a great job and went over and above producing amazing bed art making our stay special. The other thing I did notice was there was a lot of kids at the resort, particularly on the first week of our stay. This could of course vary week on week. The resort is family friendly but we wasn’t expecting as many as there was on the island so for us it did make it hard to totally chill at times but on the other hand it isn’t an adult only island so it is what it is. We would definitely recommend the island and think it is very good value for what we paid For anyone due to travel I am sure you will have a great time

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed at Amari Havodda for two weeks in October. We had an overwater villa, room 123. The collection from Male airport onto a domestic flight and the onward speedboat to the island was put together very well by the resort. You are met by a representative from the resort as you come through Male airport. The room was very well appointed. Very large king size bed, fabulous views from the room and the terrace out to sea. There is a safe, plenty of storage space, a fridge that is refilled with 2 beers, 2 sprite and 2 Coca Cola everyday and plenty of bottled water. The bathroom is lovely- great shower, as well as an open-air shower, bath tub, two sinks, and plenty of space. Good range of toiletries. The room was serviced twice every day. It was extremely clean and we always had clean towels. The island itself is very small. You can walk round it in about 30 minutes. Great views all around, excellent sunrises on one side and sunsets on the other. The beach is generally nicer, in my opinion, on the sunrise side as the sunset side has quite a few sandbags to stop the beach erosion. There is a small shop, a spa, gym, football pitch, volleyball court, water sports centre, a la carte restaurant, buffet restaurant, swimming pool, main bar and a sunset bar that operates between 5-7pm. That bar has no seats- you get your drinks and sit on the sand. We were all inclusive and found the quality of drinks to be very good. The service was excellent. The food in the buffet restaurant was very good. We enjoyed a few meals at the Ember grill a la carte restaurant. We would recommend that. It costs extra but was nice to be able to order what you wanted-food quality was excellent. The staff in the restaurants and in the main bar are excellent. While laying by the pool the bar staff regularly came round and asked what we would like and brought it. Buddha, Pande and Febin really stood out as excellent staff. Nothing was too much trouble. When you arrive at the island you have a host assigned to you. They take you to show your room and give you the information you need. They WhatsApp you with info and deal with any requests. This worked very well. It wasn’t intrusive but it gave a point of contact. Zooey and Murooj were excellent hosts. We arrived on 15 October for two weeks. We had one day when it rained really hard in between scorching weather and there were a few night time storms. The weather was excellent for the rest of the time. There was nothing to fault about the staff or service, the rooms or the cleanliness. The high standards of food and drink were impressive given that everything had to be brought in. I would recommend the resort for a fabulous de-stressing holiday where you can relax and enjoy the amazing views and great weather. It really is idyllic.

My partner and I recently held our wedding at Amari Havodda Maldives and it was absolutely amazing. Amari organised everything for us and made it the best day of our lives. We stayed on the island for 8 nights and it was still hard to say goodbye at the end of our trip. A special thank you has to go to our host, Murooj who took care of us from start to finished. We stayed in an overwater villa and woke up to a stunning view of the ocean every morning. We've previously stayed at Amari Phuket and Amari Bangkok and can honestly say that the Amari Hotels brand is one of the best in the world. We are constantly amazed by their hotels and the level of services they offer. We strongly recommend the Amari Hotels brand to everybody!

We are travelling together for 20 years now and Amari is the only place we have visited twice. It is an excellent location to relax and calm down. Staff in the restaurant and bars are really nice and helpful. We were pretty surprised to see that quite some people are still working on the island 3 years after your first stay, which I believe speaks for itself. The location is brillant for schnorcheling and scuba diving. The house reef offers a lot to see. Our daughter took the Open Water course during our stay and I would like to highlight the excellent job of the Dive Center staff. Once again we had a great time at Amari.

Amari is the best accommodation for a honeymoon. We had a very lovely and relaxing time. Our host named Murooj was very friendly and helpful. He was always available for our requests and took care of them. The food and drinks at the restaurant/bar is fresh and very delicious. The staff is always kind and each of them had always a smile for us. The deluxe beach villa is great. Just a few steps away from the beach and very private. The house reef is very impressive and we saw sharks, turtles, manta rays and a lot of different fishes. We can recommend the sunset cruise with dolphin search. We had a lot of fun to find the dolphins together with the crew. Finally we found a group with approximately 20 dolphins. All in all we had a wonderful time at Amari and we definitely will come back again.

Our experience at Amari was just so good, it is impossible do it justice in a review. We always get a bit nervous booking anywhere as you really don't know until you arrive. Amari delivered one of the best holidays I have ever had. Great arrival experience at Male and a good transfer by plane and then speed boat. Just be aware that the flights provided by Maldivan are basic and run to their own (flexible) schedule. The overwater villa was so beautiful. I could live there forever. It is huge, the deck is amazing and the bathroom is beautiful. It has everything you need and the housekeeping was great. Just be aware, ours and some of the others are a little walk away from some parts of the Island and when it is hot even a 10 minute walk seems far. The food in the main restaurant is really good. It was varied everyday, super high quality and really well presented. We didn't feel the need to book the other restaurant of the beach BBQ, but we heard they were good. The pizza restaurant is also really good and great to have when you get back from a dive. The cocktails and drinks in the bar were all really good and the all inclusive package really delivers. The gym is small but was never busy. The sunrise yoga wasn't to my taste (too sandy) so I did my own on the villa deck. The pool is really nice and always good to have when you have been in the ocean a lot. The reef is really beautiful and we were lucky to see a lot around our villa and also on the edge of the reef just snorkelling. Sharks, rays, turtles and all sorts of fish. We did a few scuba dives which were great, although expensive. The team are really great, experienced and made the whole experience a real pleasure. If there is room for improvement, it is the departure. Our journey home was long and lacked the luxury they provided from the very beginning. Warning when you book your return flight, you will need to leave the resort around 8 hours before your flight from Male, so we had to get up at 5am. We were given a basic breakfast before departure which I am sure some people love, but it was on the more unhealthy side of the normal breakfasts on offer. Having had early wake up calls on trips elsewhere in the world, I know that is when people are most appreciative of the little thoughts from hosts. But anyway, you should book and go to this amazing place. The travel is worth it.
