We stayed for 3 nights at Barranco Alto and had a fantastic time! We got there by private plane from Campo Grande, which was such a great experience itself. It was quite expensive, but worth every cent. We had a wonderful overview of the Pantanal from the air. Once arrived at the lodge we felt at home from the first...

From the minute we landed on the grass airstrip we were made to feel most welcome by Ben a partner of the business. After being shown our comfortable and roomy accommodation we were invited to take an evening safari with Ben. Just before sunset we stopped for an ice cold beer and nibbles before continuing the jungle exploration. The accommodation...

Absolutely awesome place to stay, our favourite activity that we did in Brazil, everything about the place is fantastic, especially the new hosts Ben and Karina. The chefs do a really good job with the cooking and all the other staff around the farm are very accommodating and friendly. My only wish is that i will get to come back...

We went to Barranco Alto because our Travel Agency sent us there, and there is absolutely no regret! If you love nature this is a must see! Birds and other animals too numerous to list them all. The lodge itself was first class. We had a big room with our own veranda and view of the little pond. The food...

We were staying in Fazenda Barranco Alto for three nights as the luxury part of a longer backpacker tour. Also we struggeled with the -related to the hostels we usually stayed in - high price for transport to and from the farm and accomodation, we agreed in the end: It was totally woth it. We loved the homemade food, mostly...

We came to Barranco Alto after a week in the northern Pantanal. We came expressly to see Giant Anteaters since it's a great location for that. Unfortunately, we didn't see any but Barranco Alto still blew us away. We flew from Porto Jofre right to Barranco Alto which is the fastest (1 hour) way to get there from the North....

We traveled here as part of a two-week tour of the north and south Pantanal arranged by Brazil Nature Tours. We had already spent a week up north and had seen fabulous birds and lots of jaguars. So our primary interest was more birds and land animals. We had also bounced around on some pretty bumpy roads. Our trip from...

Dear Travelfan, thanks for your review. While we cannot speak for the transfer between the city and the farm, as this was not organized by us but by your travel agency, we do apologize for the technical problems which occurred to the a/c during your stay, creating the uncomfortable situation of having to change rooms. Regarding our staff, we believe...

If you like small group experiences and getting great bang for your buck, this is the place to stay for excellent wildlife viewing in the southern region of the Pantanal. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and amazingly observant. We saw more wildlife than ever expected on every excursion, of which there are two per day. Definitely a birders' paradise. The...

A friend recommended Fazenda Barranco Alto and it was one of the best recommendations we have ever had. We spent 7 unforgettable nights there. To get there we opted for driving (on the excellent highway - 2 hours approx), then flying the last half hour or so from Aquidauna. We really didn't fancy spending 4 or more hours bouncing around...

Getting to the Fazenda is already a full day's trip, even for those who live in Brazil. We flew in with a light aircraft from Aquidauana, which gives a great overhead view of the Pantanal wetlands and forest. Barranco Alto is located in an area with numerous lakes and a beatifully bending river. Although it is far away from "civilization",...
