We are veteran travellers to the national parks in India and spent two exhilarating days at Tadoba this week. We stayed at the Svasara Junge Lodge at Kolara and were most impressed with the warm hospitality, facilities, wholesome food and prompt service. The safaris were on time and each time we returned from the forest, we were greeted with warm towels and a soothing drink. The hosts, Nandita and Ranjit, and their team were caring and well-informed. A special mention must be made of their excellent naturalists. Highly recommended

1. Four of us (me and my daughter along with my friend and his daughter) stayed for 2N/3D at Svasara Jungle Lodge at Tadoba (from 21st to 23rd Jul 2023). And it takes about 2 hours and 15 mins to reach the resort from the airport. 2. The resort is located next to Kolara gate (Core area of forest) and Kolara Chauradeo gate (for Kolara buffer area of the forest). Both the gates are about 300 metres from the resort. 3. The room was having two single beds, a single seater sofa and a chair, Electric kettle with Tea bags & coffee is available. Air conditioning in the room made the life more comfortable after the safari. 4. The bath room had a cubicle for the bathing area. Shampoo / hair conditioner and soap are provided in the bath room. 5. Hair dresser is available in the room. 6. There is a small sit out in front of the entrance to the room. One may like to sit with a book after the morning safari. 7. Buffet is available for breakfast / lunch / dinner. The lunch or dinner included Dal, Paneer subzi, Chicken subzi, Pasta, another vegetable, Salad and Papad or Fryum. The breakfast (served after the morning safari at 10.30 am) included Cornflakes / Parathas / Upma / Poha / Banana. 8. Since breakfast is served after the morning safari, a sandwich (veg or egg) and banana are provided along with water for the safari for consumption inside the forest during the morning safari. 9. Water and tetrapak juice are provided for the afternoon safari. 10. The resort staff welcome you back from the safari with a wet towel. Tea or coffee or Lime juice with Pakoras are provided after the afternoon safari. 11. There is a small swimming pool at the resort to unwind oneself after the safari. 12. Spa facilities are available at the resort. One can relax after the safari in the jungle. 13. The service by the resort staff is outstanding. Megnath and other staff welcome you at the resort (when you check in or come back from the safari. He tries to ensure that each and every requirement is fulfilled. 14. The Naturalist Bhautik was highly knowledgeable and made the safari more interesting with his sharing of his experiences. 15. Nandita was prompt with her communication and went the extra mile to accommodate my request for a bean bag- or continental food. 16. Loved our stay at Svasara. A big thank you to Juhili & Niraj Wanikar (Psithurism tours) for recommending this propety. Convenient location, close to Kolara gate. The naturalist couple managing the property, Nandita & Ranjit were very warm and welcoming to each guest. They have painstakingly kept the property a nature Lover's abode. Hearing their experiences in the jungle only lures you to return back soon. There are only 12 villas which are very well maintained, clean and spacious. As per rules "Plastic bottles are a strict No". The lodge is set in as natural setting as possible with a Spa & small swimming Pool to unwind after the safari.. There were many electrical outages, but the lodge is well equipped with a Generator so never felt devoid of electrical comforts. After a hot sunny safari especially in April, the cool welcome drink, light snacks and cold towels at the concierge was a blessing. Wifi is limited to the reception and dining area (but it was worth the disconnect from the media world and enjoy the nature to the fullest). Meals were inclusive in our package. Very nice lodge. Well maintained in "jungle" compound. Comfortable spacious "villas". Very clean, simple interior with a good airconditioning which was needed with outside 40+ temperatures. Wifi is only available at the reception. Dinner and Lunch served with fan cooling. The food was good in buffet style with everyday variations. In the evening they show beautiful documentaries. Very well organized safaris, very knowledgeable naturalists are employed. Only disadvantage is that there will be a driver, guide and naturalist in your gypsy jeep, which is a bit much. But together they will spot everything. And it is just a few hundred meters from the entrance of Tadoba!

We totally understand that the gypsy can seem a bit crowded with the three additional persons. However, the park rules are such that our naturalist is not allowed to drive, and it is mandatory to take the forest guide along! The naturalist is optional but most guests choose to take one along owing to their specialised knowledge and also in the case, the guest requires an English speaking escort. A friend of mine and I visited the Svasara Jungle Lodge at Tadoba in April of 2023 and we have had the best experience. The best aspect of the lodge is that it’s an eco-lodge, which we appreciated and loved the most. The staff is amazing, very easy to talk to and always eager to help you with whatever you need or want to know. They have a really nice swimming pool adapt as well. All in all we really enjoyed the place, saw many tigers and leopards, made some new amazing friends and had a blast of a get away. Would totally recommend Svasara if you go to Tadoba!

We had an excellent stay at Svasara. A positive experience from the get-go with Ranjit being very responsive and helpful with booking dates, gate suggestions and the actual booking. The drive to and from the airport with the hotel vehicle was great - careful and responsible driving. The lodge itself is unpretentious and authentic and suitably natural fitting in well into the surroundings. We appreciated the absence of plastic water bottles, the solar powered energy, and the committment to the surroundings. Lovely, clean swimming pool (though some more shady seating would be good). The open lounge/reception area is a lovely meeting point to discuss sightings and socialise with other guests. The rooms are very large (we stayed comfortably in one room with all kids), clean and airy (didn't need the AC initially). The daily food was simple, wholesome and delicious (loved the fresh naans at dinner) - usually local dishes using local ingredients. They even went beyond the essentials and cooked one of the kids' favourite breakfast for him as a treat. Kolara gate is a 5 minute walk from the lodge and the park itself is great - we had some very "successful" game drives and some less so - but nonetheless still informative. We were lucky to have a great naturalist from the lodge with us - Siddharth was fantastic- very well informed about the area, focusing not just on sighting the big animals but also about their habitat, habits, the reserve itself and its history, vegetation, geology and also the numerous birds. He was great at genuinely engaging the children and even took the children birding in the lodge and they were delighted with their discoveries. A big big thanks to him - he may have inspired some future naturalists! The staff and mgmt were also great - we were welcomed after safaris with refreshing drinks, facecloths and genuine curiosity and excitement from mgmt on our experiences. Ranjit and Nandita were also esp helpful when one of the children was unwell. All in - a lovely lovely experience and one we would be very happy to repeat! …

This was the best safari base of the 4 we stayed at in India. This place is friendly and that follows through with their customers who mixed well, we met some amazing people. Our guide Rishin was amazing and we saw several Tigers and their cubs plus the father of the cubs. The pool is great and the chef's cooked us non spicy foods so we were pretty happy.

if you want to be a real guest and not a hotel key number this is the place to go. i can't remember whether this is my fifth or sixth visit and they get better. the food is amazing, the service so friendly and considerate, Ranjit and Nandita superb hosts who want everyone to enjoy their holiday. there is a reason that people continue to return to this hotel year after year. thank you to all the people who help to run this hotel, especially Megnath and the cook who makes the unbeatable meals. i am planning the next trip. having hotel nature guides is also a bonus, they know the forest, they guide you to have memorable sightings and an understanding of the reserve. the rooms are clean and comfortable and have all you need, highly recommend especially for solo travellers, but good for families as well. …

All round, this has to be the best lodge for Tadoba Andari national park. Excelllent accommodation, great food and service that would be hard to beat. We have stayed here a number of times, as experienced wildlife travellers, and there is no where better. It is run by the delightful husband and wife duo, Ranjit and Nandita who speak perfect English and have a great sense of humour as well. The naturalist guides are second to none and if there is one place where tiger sightings are almost guaranteed, this is the place to start. Thoroughly recommended. We will be back !!

Great resort in the middle of the jungle. Trat for safari lovers. The food and facilities are average but the hospitality of the staff and managers is the differentiator for this resort. They look after all your whims and fancies…hence most guests repeatedly visit the property.
