Booked as overnight stop over on business trip. Pictures on site look 100 times better than actually is. Room was old, dingy mould in bathroom and staircase to room shook as walked up it. I had driven 11 hours that day to reach this hotel, for a meeting the next morning and went in for dinner as had hardly eaten...

My husband & I stayed here over the holiday weekend. First impressions on checking in was average, however getting to our room we were very disappointed. The door leading to all the upstairs rooms was not user friendly. The keypad door lock was low down on the door instead of eye level making it difficult to enter the code. Entering...

I have visited the Welly several times over the years and have always enjoyed myself. The new management of the hotel are indeed making some changes, however, the friendliness of the place remains an attraction itself. If you like to hear some friendly banter between the locals this is the place for you on a wet tea time. The food...

From the moment we checked in we knew we were on to a winner. As it was past 9 o'clock in the evening the kitchen was closed, but when we asked if we could have sandwiches we were treated to a plate of delicious ham & cheese sandwiches complete with a large plate of piping hot chips between the four...

After reading the reviews of how the new owners had turned the place around. We were extremely disappointed with the standard of food. Both myself and my wife had to send back our meal (not for replacement). I had a lamb burger that could only be described as abattoir floor waste with chalk filler and was like biting into powder....

This hotel is on a great position, the breakfast which is included is superb. One small gripe , there is a noise from a fan motor which you can just hear at night in room 1. Great food and local beer available in the bar

Went here as a last minute place to get some food. My lasagne was fairly tasteless and lacked enough quality meat and sauces. It was also a small portion for the money. The pasta was ok. The desserts were poor/average. I had bread and butter pudding which was ok and the Eton mess lacked enough fruit and meringue and again...

I have just left the hotel this morning, after driving to st Ives the night before and planning to sleep in the car I decided against it and I'm glad I did. The hotel booked us in late, provided us with a modern room and a great breakfast. Highly recommend!
