Close to beach nice clean place. Close to the Center of Santa Fe. Sainte Fe is nicer then Bantayan itself close to the port and safe night life. Recommend street foods not the expensive restaurants in downtown.

I stayed at the Sunday Flower from April/May 2012.
I could not fault the establishment.
It is a exellent hotel close to the beach.
It has air-conditioning, free WIFI, cable TV.
Meals provided with a small charge.
A exellent service and a lovely staff.
There is a night guard service for security.

I rented a bicycle and a motorbike and after 2 weeks I saw most of this beautiful island.
I recommend this Island for anyone who is searching for a relaxing holydays.
It is a easy island to meet local people.

I used the Sunday Flower Pump Boat to visit other remote beaches as well as fishing trips.
I will be back next year, that is for sure.

If you are looking for a relaxing holiday on the beach, this is the place for you. The Sunday Flower is a small resort right on the beach and a short 2 minute stroll to the water.

Swimming – Warm blue water and white sand all the way, no seaweed or sea urchins (like in Bohol). Great for the family and kids. If you prefer diving try Malapascua first.

Rooms – not 5-star but very good by Filipino standards, clean and well maintained, water pressure is poor (but expected)

Getting there – Not too much trouble, about 3 hours by van and then a 1 hour boat ride. Ask the hotel to pick you up from the port (10m Jeep to hotel)

The Staff are helpful and Ulysses is present to keep the place running in tip top condition. Lots of food options nearby, take a short bike ride or walk. There is a night guard for additional safety.

Overall a fantastic location/resort. We will definitely be back.

We stayed at the Sunday Flower for 6 nights over New Year. Bantayan isn't the easiest island to get to, but it's well worth making the effort. We booked a basic room with 2 beds without A/C and hot water. We found that a fan was perfectly sufficient and despite the fact that the pressure in the shower wasn't very strong, I quite enjoyed washing there as the locals do by filling a bucket with cold water and then pouring it over myself using the 'tabo' provided. The warm weather means that you don't really miss a hot shower. We particularly liked the fact that our room had a small terrace front and back. At the back we paid extra for a fridge and to be able to use the gas cooking facilities, so we were able to prepare all of our meals ourselves. At the front the terrace offers you the chance to sit and look out onto the palm trees and the beach area.
The staff were always ready to help if ever we needed anything and Ulysses kindly organized a New Year's celebrations complete with fireworks and food. We were also able to hire their boat to make a trip to one of the nearby islands.
In all, we should have stayed for an entire week but we were unable to do so due to the typhoon which prevented all ferries from travelling on our anticipated day of arrival. Ulysses kindly refunded our money for the first night, as we had to book alternative accommodation on the mainland as a result.
Sunday Flower certainly doesn't offer you 5-star luxury, but if that's what you're looking for, I'd suggest that Bantayan is not the place for you anyway. We loved the fact that the island is still pretty uncommercialized and that we were just able to chill there. We definitely didn't regret choosing the Sunday Flower and we very much hope to go back there again in the future.

After 2 weeks in this hotel i'm just sad to quit all this professionnal team.
The island is amazing, with lovely people et wonderful landscape.
The resort is near the Santa Fe's center. You have all commodities et the beach is at 50 meters.
Air conditionning in rooms are very cool.
I advise everybody to enjoy a trip im this hotel

We stayed at this resort for just over 2 weeks. There were 3 rooms available to rent. The room had a queen size bed, a large TV and a DVD player. There was a good size bathroom, and just outside the rear door was a sitting area with beach views. In the sitting area was cooking and dish washing facilities. We even had a local to do some of our cooking and cleaning up (small fee) ... it was just magic not having to do this. From the beach we bought fresh fish, straight from the boats, along with huge crabs and shell fish. At times there were the locals visiting asking if we would like mangoes ,bananas, payapas, sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves, soy bean curd in caramel sauce, There was no pressure to buy anything, it just seemed a good service.... nearby was a local store which sold bathroom items, sugar, coffee etc., mobile phone and internet charge.

We were able to go out on the Sunday Flower pump boat (think that is what it is called) to visit Virgin Island, and Paradise Beach, fabulous time, and a small amount of local food was prepared for us . Nothing seemed too difficult on this island. It is a island which has great cafes and restaurants at remarkably low prices.

Getting around, not hard, local transport, to get to Bantayan township, bicycle, and a motor bike to visit the most northern area was lovely, money changers were available, there was one ATM machine which we found on the island, and markets selling local food and supplies were interesting. The power sometimes went off. We had a USB internet smart Dongle which was ok, though not necessarily fast all the time. Internet cafes were present.

In the evenings, watching the fishermen with their children preparing their nets for the next fishing trip was interesting. This island was a photographers paradise... there were Karaoke cafes on the island, but at the Sunday Flower the Karaoke is rarely heard, as it is situated in a quieter area of Santa Fe.

The owner of the resort was very friendly, and provided lots of ideas of things to do and see.

We were saddened to leave this paradise, first by a ferry to Cebu mainland then a bus A/C to Cebu city.

Nice place but it is far out of the mainstream Santa Fe main eating strip.

The resort is on a funny shaped plot of land. There is actually another "resort" or two in front and to the side. Sunday Flower isn't really on the beach per se. There is a bunch of tin roofs between your nice balcony and the beach.

Upstairs room was great, lots of light inside at night, huge balcony, an outdoor kitchen of sorts facing west. Staff are nice, but kinda weird service. As I was shown to my room the girl kindly also carried a tray of coffee cups, saucers, coffee - but no water and no where to actually get any hot water. I didn't understand this.

The real issue is that the adjoining resorts are a locals favorite and all they do is play full volume karaoke. The noise is deafening.

Thank you for your review. Apparently it was a new girl who dealt with the coffee issue.. As for the Karaoke, we are aware of it, and who isnt? The Karaoke is on just for the vice mayor of Santa Fe, who seems to think everyone on the island likes to have noise. Rather inappropriate. Sorry you were inconvenienced.

Finding a peaceful place to stay in Sta Fe (covering the eastern portion of Bantayan Island) should never be an issue. An area of 110.71 km2 with a population of only 136,960 (2010 census) including the nearby islands. Positively, one of the most laid-back travels you could ever experience. Furthermore, decent, best value for money and good reviews are my criteria for booking a hotel and after few days of researching, I decided to book Sunday Flower Beach Resort. We paid less than 2,000php (44$)/night good for 3 persons. Perfect for low-cost traveler but no breakfast included. Located at 232 Batiancila Street Pooc, Santa Fé. Approximately, 10-15 minutes away from the port. This mixed residential and beach resort area didn't disappoint our stay. It was the best accommodation I ever had so far. Why?

Best value for money - We got the studio type room which we considered our home for 3 days and 2 nights stay. The room has a mini living, dinning and kitchen area. 1 big bedroom with 2 beds (king and single size). 1 bathroom with hot and cold shower, 1 toilet room at the back of the house. Complete with basic kitchen and eating utensils, flat screen TV and personal router for Wi-Fi.

Best customer service - Versatile, swift and helpful are not enough words to describe Daisy. Absolutely, the management of this resort is very fortunate to have her. She managed the reception area, she was also the concierge; ask daisy she will make it possible. If you want to rent a scooter/bike, massage, mineral water, tricycle service and how to get there? It's just one dial away with daisy. She take care of all the guests very well, she cleaned every room, cooked our food and she knows how to make a conversation with all the resort's guests. She’s approachable, humble and sensible staff. We had fun talking to her. She deserves a raise!

Location: To be fair, it was not the premium location in the wide and long white beach of Sta fe. The resort was clean but trashes are anywhere near the sea. Particularly to the right side of the hotel which is a residential area and it saddened me to see trashes in the whole stretch of the beach. Both locals and tourists are unconcerned in cleaning the coast. It's low tide every morning. Not an ideal place for swimming. Despite of that, local fisherman and women who are picking up shells are always open for conversation. The best part of the beach was in the most left side of Sta Fe facing the sea (kota beach) it's just 10-15mins walk from Sunday flower. Sleep quality here was perfect since it’s away from some bars and restaurants. Once the sun has set the island become calmer only few establishments are open. Generally, no crazy and wild night life here.

Sunday Flower is a great place to chill for a while. the beach is right out your backdoor. The kitchen is limited on what to meet. However, You can go to the fish market in the square, buy some fillets, ( don't forget to bargain) and the workers will cook it for you along with some rice. The staff worked very diligently and went out of there way to make sure I was satisfied; cleaning the rooms, cooking food, and bringing coffee to the room. You will need to rent a scooter since Bantayan is rather large island. I would suggest to the management perhaps having foot faucets or buckets outside the front door. other than that. this is a great place to stay. Bring earplugs because 2 loud roosters are right next to the hotel.

Nice spot, just a stones throw from the beach. Staff friendly enough. However for p1400 we had no air-con or ref and I used my own wifi. Got much better room for less money in BORACAY!! Also very loud (and bad) karaoke bar just yards away from balcony from around 2pm. Yippee!!
The main bars and restaurants in town are a tidy walk away (around 20 minutes). Better accommodation options seem to be around here too.

Thank you for your reply, The issue with karaoke is long standing. The Philippine culture likes singing at these types of bars. We are aware the volume and sound quality sometimes leaves a lot to be desired, and many tourists do not appreciate the noise. However, some tourists at times do join in with the singing. Once again I thank you for your review, and hope to see you again sometime.
