We spent 2 nights there and it was enough I do not deny what people wrote previously but you have to know that if you rent a Beach Front Triplex (I don't know about others) you will shower almost over the WC (see photo). Flush was not working and we needed to use a bucket as you can see on photo.
The beach is also quite dirty with garbage that the sea is bringing.
It could be a nice place if they put 2 square meters more for a descent shower.

Response from giging, Manager at Beach Placid Resort
Responded 14 Jan 2011
The bathroom in question has been fixed. It is our goal to make the customer happy. If they are not satisfied with anything, all they need to do is let us know and we will either fix the problem or transfer them to a bigger and better room for the same price. We have other cottages that have larger restrooms and larger area in the room. The Triplex is designed for inexpensive, single or couple guests on a budget. We we will be renovating the Triplex this year to make the restrooms/showers larger.

It may be that the bigger rooms (cottages/duplex) are the source of the great Tripadviser reviews that brought us here, but the room we were stuck in...well, those are a different story, at about 10' square - including the bathroom. Perhaps it was to be expected that there was no hint of this when we called to ask about room availability - we were told only that a "deluxe," or some such nonspecific term, was available. Compared with elsewhere in the Philippines and on Bantayan these are not a good value - in fact, that's the case even in comparison with those other new (booked) rooms we can't get in to right here at Beach Placid.
So - look around before you commit, as I wish we'd done.
Unlike some other resorts, the rooms are plunked down apparently where there was space, and with nothing like a long-term plan in mind, no landscaping, more like a campground with cabins. I did like that there was nothing between our front door and the ocean, but as I said, there was barely any "room" there to begin with, and the carpet has probably never been dry, ever.
The thing is, unless you're more successful in ferreting out a detailed map of the Santa Fe area before you get to Bantayan than we were, you won't know where or how far the other options are. We just wanted to grab hold of whatever we'd reserved from afar, since we had bags with us and were anxious to get perched somewhere...it was tolerable for a night, but in our case, no more than that. There are other close-by options in the area - near competing "Yooneek," which in itself seems much more attractive now that we've seen it, and at lower prices (in my opinion not getting a fair shake in these reviews at all - do we really think that "Yooneek" must be entirely "unique" in order to meet our expectations as a nice place to stay? [--])
The beach itself: I can't judge fully since we didn't stay at Beach Placid long enough to get a representative sense, but I can say that the beach here looks nice from a distance...but walking on it I found it hard-packed; and right now it's got a lot of debris and the water looks a bit green, trashy and cloudy - not inviting. We're moving ASAP to another hotel.

We stayed here for a night and find another resort the following day. The place was not really good the beach was not clean. The room was small and expensive for us. The staff are not friendly. In a resort or in a hotel they should take into consideration about the staff manner and being accommodating but in this resort they are so cold.

Thanks for your input. We clean the beach in the morning and afternoons always. The room prices are competitive to other resorts. Room sizes vary depending in the price and location of the cottage. As far as the staff I disagree that we are not friendly.

If you wanna go hungry waiting for your food (an hour & 20 min), this is d place for u. The cats inside are hungrier than humans. They’ll reach out to ask for food. Extra bed means mattresses costing 500 pesos each & it’s super thin. Airconditioned rooms in perfect temperature but there’s lots of mosquitos inside so it’s not well cleaned & couldn’t sleep well. Immediately transferred to another resort the next day & it was d best decision ever! If globe subscriber, you get cut off from the world (super loading).
Pros: white sand beach.

+1
It was terribly horrible experience.
We stayed at this resort for a night only as we conclude our trip to Bantayan. We were placed at room 11. The room should NOT be rented out or open to guests to begin with. The room have lot of wear and tear!
The ceiling is warping and with brown dirty color. The door knob of the CR is rusty. The tiles are old and filthy. The AC is dripping with water as usage progress. The TV is not working but luckily got fixed. The only thing nice in the room is the colorful painting in the wall. I hope the owner /staff of the resort will stop welcoming guests to this room until it is fixed and condusive to stay at to be fair to the guests paying their money even if it's just a basic room. Room rate is 2k/night.
On the lighter note, the staff are nice and welcoming. Generally, people in Bantayan island are nice, polite people!

after 10.hours of travel was expecting to have a good rest, but when we arrive at the place the aircon is not working good so we decided to freaking change the room.the next day we decided to eat lunch at the resto and first thing we ask is a cold coke and they said they only have water so my husband stand up and walk to the door and staff start laughing. Seriously you cant be freaking rude to your guest.Insanely disrespectful.
Room dont have wifi
Alot of mosquitos
They dont sell beverages
Staff are rude they will talk behind your back and laugh at you.
Worst experienced ever!
Not gonna come back

If you're a Filipino planning to book for a resort in Bantayan, think twice! We paid 2 months before the stay and they gave our reservation for a foreigner without who extended their stay! They never informed us of what was happening and attempted to transfer us to another resort farther from the beach then when we came this was again given to another set of Japanese people! They offered to let us stay on a house which was far from the amenities offered in a resort!
They seriously made our stay and memory in Bantayan the worst of the worse! Thank you so much for ruining our honeymoon! shoutout to the owner who couldnt even dare to physically talk to us her terms!

The resort is small, close to a dirty beach, with unfriendly staff, never smiling and absent owner, who we asked to meet several times, but was always unavailable.
We had only 1 room, the size of a shoebox.
Our room was 9 square meters (90 square foot) plus 2 square meter (20 sq foot) of a dirty and never maintained bathroom. No closet to store your clothes, no phone, no TV, and broken air-conditioning.
The sink in the bathroom was the size of my hand, and the shower arrived to my chest. Water was flowing, sometimes....
The food was disastrous, and the sea water so dirty and filthy, that I refused to swim anytime.
I booked for 5 days, but decided to leave the next day of our arrival, without refund, since the place was such a nightmare.
There were cockroaches, mosquitoes, and ants everywhere.

Response from giging, Owner at Beach Placid Resort
Responded 2 May 2013
This is all hearsay and false accusations. I am the owner and I live inside the resort. The guest never asked to see me not once. He never complained about the air condition or I could have asked someone to fix it or replace it if it ran out of freon. . There were no roaches or ants. They booked through agoda online and agoda a policy is no refund after checkin. If they complained about the size of the room I could have transferred them to a family size room with no extra charge. This is all hearsay. Future guests please read the reviews from other 44 customers who rated us excellent!

=It takes 45mins-1hr just to serve the food
=the room we booked, they didn't give it to us, they said the room we wanted was under renovation but same day someone occupied the room wtf
=beach was dirty, smelly(with actual poop), you can even enjoy just pure garbage
=room was dirty also, especially the toilet yuck!
=the staff were all liar, not accomodating at all, we asked for an ice they said they dont have any ice, but again same day they served ice to another group of people who ordered softdrinks to them.
We will never go back! We booked two nights, first night we wanted to go but of course the money is non-refundable.
Everything was terrible!!!

I stayed in this resort last night and I was very disappointed by the services! Rooms were not cleaned and the attitude of the manager was unacceptably rude to my colleagues. The place is managed, rooms are tiny, hot and not cleaned. There was to much sand on the balcony and when I asked someone to clean, there was no support!

Mam you reserved the room for 3 nights and you tried to get out of the 3 night stay without paying. Of course you needed all excuses you can think of to get out of your obligation. We never refuse anyone who ask us to sweep the porch. Even me as an owner can be seen sweeping the grounds, picking up trash or watering the plants. Any owner or manager will be upset if customers like you make any excuses to get out of their obligation to pay for the 3 nights that they reserved especially when we are fully booked and the rooms were held just for you.

Hi! I would like to ask if do you accept ojt trainee in your establishment? please reply. Thank you!
Contact the resort directly.
Not sure. Better ask them. :)
I would contact them directly, I am assuming rates change based on busy season. I think we check rates thru tripadvisor, just enter dates and see what is available.
Yes they do but you can't be choosy. :)
