rooms are fine but crazy expensive. staff are so awkward we couldn't tell if they were being rude or just afraid of us, would chose to just sit down and ignore us if they so felt... and we were being reasonably friendly and patient... most unhelpful place ive stayed in indonesia... also no wi-fi though it was advertised with wifi.

this hotel is good. right at the main centre. museum moko is just in front of it. though the condition of the hotel is very standard, it's good enough for a hotel in alor. don't expect the wifi'll run good for 24 hours. it's alor, and the connection sometimes good sometimes no. just face it. the staff are friendly, you...

The hotel rooms are disappointing, but the hotel had wifi, and the staff tries to be responsive to guests. Asked the staff to spray our rooms a few times but having said yes, they never did it! Breakfast was only a small glass of tea/coffee with a piece of packaged bread. The restaurant next...

I agree with the earlier comment about this hotel - it's probably the best available "hotel' in town. It's price reasonably. Go for 'Royal Suite' which does not cost much but you have the luxury of more spacious room with sofa and bigger bathroom (and phew, running water heater).

Kalabahi is a built up and sprawling mass of concrete blocks with little character and only a few hotel options. Hotel Melati was full when I visited during end of July peak season, aswell as during Ramadan. I saw the rooms etc though and spoke to the owners. Hotel Melati seems the best overall option in Kalabahi and is 5...
