Thw hole place sux. Cold, dirty, disgusting. Small and dirty kitchen without furniture. The bathroom doesn't have glass on the window and its really cold. Also, they always say that will have a lot of job on the next week but the job never comes. Stay away from that place. Trust me

Absolutely dreadful place, do not go there if you are looking for fruit picking work, they charge you $200 to do so and the contractor they put you in contact with pays a pittance, it is easy to find work yourself with better contractors and we never saw our $200 again. The place is dirty with flies everywhere and the...

The hostel itself isn't the worst but doesn't have a great kitchen or free wifi which is what you might expect for $150 per week. Just make sure you DO NOT pay the $200 long stay bond which they will try and get you to sign up for. This is basically a non refundable scam which holds you to staying...

A place where you SHOULD NOT go ! We have been in Hairy berry for 2 weeks… the worst experience of our life. First of all, they won’t give you a job !You will have to give a deposit of 200 dollars and they will not find you nothing. We have find a job in Te Puke but by ourself...

Do not come here!! The kitchen and bathrooms are cleaned daily but still look dirty afterwards. We've been here 4days and there is still dirty pots and pans next to the sink! The fridges are never cleaned and smell really bad. The bathrooms have cobwebs everywhere and a lot of unknown stains! I was told on the phone by Tracy,...

I was told that I had a job if i could arrive before the next day. When I got there there was no job. She advertises work just to get you to stay in the hostel. As for the hostel, it is very dirty. The kitchen is horrendous. There is limited utensils to use and is very dirty. The place...

We were in hairy berry for working one week on an orchard. If the work is good and brings you good$$ depends on what work they find for you! The hostel is very good situated( 50"tv,billard,lounge,party-shed) with a huge kitchen, so even with 35 people cooking, you won't wait for cooking place. Not far to beach and other attractions. Loren...

The hostel is an ok place to stay at. Recently there has been done a lot of renovation, kitchen & bathrooms are cleaned daily. Prices have gone down and the crowd staying at the hostel really does make the difference if your stay is pleasant or not. I had a good time at Hairy Berry! Sure, it's not a 5*...

I though that how bad can it be and booked myself one night there. BIG mistake. It was the most messy place I have ever slept in. Room was awful, kitchen was dirty and common room the same. So if you can then avoid it!

When we first arrived, we thought that Te Puke Hotel is expensive so we opt for Hairy Berry which give us HUGE disappointment. We got a DIRTY double room with no linen bed & everything. The guy just handed up some sheets, linen, pillowcases for us to make our OWN BED!! Kitchen is dirty with unclean utensils. DIRTY old toilet...
