These premises are subhuman and represent the very west that anyone could be asked to endure and pay for. The owners and stuff are intolerant, rude, thieves and the very worst face of hospitality I have ever encountered in my life of travel. The conditions are unsanitary and the environment is repugnant. The lack of regard for those who stay...

The hostel is dirty, and I'm not a particularly fussy person. The staff there are not very friendly, unless it's when they want more money from you. The whole point of a working hostel is that they find work for you. At this hostel I was offered work of 2/3 days a week, but only if I paid an additional...

How do I even start. This hostel is grossly overpriced for the facilities that are actually provided. $30 for a 6 bed dorm without linen provided, an extra $20 key deposit, and if you want bed linen and kitchen utensils you are looking at even more money. The Hostel itself is generally quite clean but the showers for the girls...

Te puke backpackers is your best option for staying in Te puke it's close to town, it is comfy and functional. It's not the best hostel in the world but look no further for a great experience. I met loads of new people. Watched films, played ping pong and worked. Tracey will help you find work.

I was blown away that Tracy was able to accomodate me so late as the office was officially closed but to my good fortune She was in the office doing some work and was able to accomodate me and even waited while I travelled there..She accomodated for my breathing machine and was friendly throughout my stay.I highly recommend this place.

Found this little gem on the corner just off the main road practically in town. Run by an older Kiwi couple who are friendly and helpful. After showing me around the old building (apparently converted from a joinery factory). I found the inside nicer than the outside. The facilities are basic but there's a really nice down to earth 'kiwi...

No1 washes up after themselves!! The people staying der seem so depressed and never seem to be working...the whole place is a fraud, people been waiting weeks for...

We wish we had looked up Hairyberry on the internet, before coming there. Mostly the past reviews are true. It is a very dirty hostel. We lived in the building with the private rooms behind the office and they don't clean and make sure that there is nice before new guests arrive. Looks like the toilets and the kitchen haven't...

We stayed in te puke for two months. We found a job as soon as we arrived but you have to be careful with many contractor. We stayed in the double room side, comfortable and private part of the hostel. But you have to clean uo by yourself kitchen, toilette and room..that's not so easy after one day of job.

Worst hostel I have been in in my life. Owners of the hostel are liars who promise work when there id absolutely no work in sight. They keep lying to the people and just want more money all the time. You have to pay a 200$ bond to get work and they will not give it back if you leave...
