If you wish to stay in dirty, ill equipped MSD accommodation then this is the place for you. The owner will harrass you by phone and text to ensure you will arrive then debit your card prior to showing you the units. There were people loitering and smoking outside other units when we arrived and there was constant noise all night. The owner left the premises after taking our money so there was no noise control enforcement. No smoke alarm, one roll of toilet paper for four people. Spiders on the walls and ceiling. We couldn't leave quickly enough the following morning and will never return. We did enquire prior to booking whether the motel was used as MSD accommodation and were assured that it wasn't! The owner is unscrupulous and a liar. Beware.
Queen bed suite with tea/coffee facilities plus microwave. Plates and cutlery plus electric jug. BUT, no sink or bench space. Sole taps in small bathroom hand basin. Impossible to fill the electric jug and ludicrous trying to wash plates, despite provision of tea towel and detergent. No microwave bowl or suitable container. Clean, but 3 lightbulbs failed and required replacement. TV temperamental. Very limited storage. Heat pump in bedroom corner - no lounge heating. Cost was moderate but poor value for such an inadequately equipped unit. Not recommended unless desperate.
As parents with 2 little children, we had a rough night with cars and neighbours coming and going all night. Could not sleep, children disturbed and sleepless. Packed up and left to return to Tauranga at 6 am in disgust, unable to continue our visit to Auckland relations. Would not ever stay at this motel again.
You get what you pay for, and although I wouldn't call this cheap by any means, it seemed mid-range Auckland prices in Nov. Room was clean and it's relatively quiet, despite being on a residential thruway. Parking was a bit narrow, but nothing negative. The only weird part was the front door/windows are all glass, with curtains covering them (at least for out room).
Arrived Auckland by plane late afternoon. Rented a car to go north, and needed a convenient sleepover. Ocean Inn was cheap, clean, spacious and well equipped. A few pubs and restaurants in the area. Quiet and safe parking.
Stayed in this motel as it was near takapuna where we had our meals.very warm check in given by the lady and we were given a spacious unit with parking outside the sliding door.Nothing to complain about for the price charged ..everything needed for a basic comfortable stay was provided including a fridge, microwave, firm mattress,a small kitchenette. The bathroom was large and the water pressure good.Clean and tidy and airy.Slept well, surprisingly quiet..wifi was free but extremely weak at nights. There was a grocer nearby where we bought fruits and biscuits.Good location near the entrance to the motorway to the city. Also takapuna beach was not too far away, and we spent sometime there walking about for a brisk morning exercise.Great! The lady host was most friendly and helpful and made us feel at home, can't say the same for the male host though. All in all a nice stay, peaceful and quiet.…
Upstairs units obviously require ascending a long exterior L shaped wooden staircase - problematic for physically impaired guests, as there is no elevator alternative. Resources in the unit are basic, though an electric blanket on the bed was a plus. Access to the free wifi was compromised by having a full house of guests, probably all wishing to use this facility at the same time. So don’t assume you can get your urgent online business done. The guest laundry was below our unit with no door, so the loud noise from guests using this facility late into the night was not pleasant. About 50m down the road is a grocer with an espresso machine, plus they sell fresh pastries - good to know about for an alternative source of breakfast.
The room was okay. The bathroom was fine except the shower which looked dirty on the sides. I'm guessing it's mould, but could have been prevented if it was cleaned properly. They have a sign in the bathroom saying 'please use makeup wipes provided' but didn't leave any. They only have 2 satchets of shampoo/conditioner, but we were 3 people. The kettle had some brown water in it which was weird! I hope that someone had made tea in it cause otherwise that's gross. Weird that they didn't clean the kettle. This just made me hope the rest of the room was actually cleaned properly. The light above my head didn't work either. It was in a good location for where we needed to be.
In the room, there was a queen size bed and a single bed, but not enough to get around the room. There was a table and two chairs jammed in between the kitchen cabinet and a set of drawers. There was no sink to wash dishes. There were two light bulbs not working, one by the single bed and one in the toilet, which I thought would be essential at night and one of the doors of the bathroom cabinet was missing.
I stayed here as it was handy to what I needed. I won't go back! The bed was comfy though but that was it for me. The bed light is right above your head and it gets in the way and is glaring in your face, there was mildew on the ceiling and over the windows in the bathroom, there was dust and rubbish behind the beside cabinet when I plugged my phone charger in and the shower has no pressure, it dribbled out! When I arrived my son was in his car behind me and parked in the visitors car park. When he got out of his car he was rudely asked how long he would be staying. Firstly he'd only just arrived and as I am unwell with cancer he was there to help me with my bags and ensure I was settled in. When I checked out - there was nothing just took the key off me. No have a great day, thanks for staying - I feel the hosts need to learn about customer service and tidy their place up. …
