I came down to Cape Town on business and decided the more casual route than hotels. I was pleasantly surprised at the great service and friendliness I was welcomed with! Complimentary nespresso, complimentary light breakfast, free wifi were all things I wasn't expecting! Great place, awesome vibe, beautiful surroundings, friendly, helpful staff! Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Stayed here while visiting friends in the area. Very laid back atmosphere and wonderful staff. The location is great because it is both close to shops + restaurants along Lower Main Rd and the minibus taxis along Main Rd. I would definitely recommend to everyone.

As a volunteer I stayed at African Heart for two months and I had the best time! I really felt like I was coming home after work because it really is a little house with a beautiful kitchen, a cosy living room, clean showers and toilets, nice rooms and amazing, friendly, open-minded people to top it all of. The location...

Nice backpackers, but not the best for tourists as it is a fairly long trip into the city (and a pretty sketchy journey to make at night!). The area is nice and has good restaurants, but breakfast was pretty stingy compared with other backpackers we stayed in.

Hi Samone & Jarryd, I appreciate the feedback and that you liked African Heart, and would like to respond to your criticisms. Cape Town is a big city spanning over 100km end-to-end. We do not try to compete with the oversupply of backpackers in the City-centre, rather offering guests a more intimate look into the real Cape Town, and Observatory...

Stayed here once again when visiting Cape Town. Great place with great people and always something going on. There's a bar street just around the corner and close to minibuses to the centre. Definitely recommended!

Stayed her x4 now and it just keeps getting better. Always our first choice in Cape Town. Laidback with a funky vibe. Close to what you need, what you want and what you must have, or what you crave. Observatory is a coolish sub to Cape Town with a vibe that will keep you away from Long Street most days...

I stayed at African Heart Backpackers for 4 weeks from Jan to Feb 2014 when I was doing an elective posting at Groote Schuur Hospital. Firstly, the location was fantastic. It was literally a stone's throw away from the Hospital and I would definitely recommend medics who are going to the hospital to stay here for the convenience. There is...

Two of my friends and I decided to road trip to Cape Town for Dec 2013. I hadn't heard about African Heart but was lucky enough to get a booking. Staying here really made our holiday. The atmosphere is amazing and the staff so welcoming - we were actually sad to leave. Met great people and staying in Obs was...
