My wife and I stayed in one of the tree houses for two nights. Everything was first rate. Carmen's knowledge and enthusiasm for the area was infectious. My only gripe was a lack of A/C and the overabundance of mosquitoes - both typical of the region.

The location of this property is absolutely stunning. The 4 tree houses are perched on the edge of pristine rainforest with stunning views out across the valley to the coral sea. Waking to the sounds of the rainforest and watching the sunrise across the sea and the forest canopy is something that we will never forget. The tree houses are...

Cookatoo Hill retreat is a stunning, exclusive establishment with beautiful views and well appointed, clean cabins. You really feel one with nature. Carmen was a friendly, knowledgeable hostess who helped arrange excursions and educated us about the local area including plants and animals. Breakfast was delicious - fresh, local tropical fruits and homemade croissants and jam. While there check out...

We stayed at Cockatoo Hill in October whist we were showing a friend from Melbourne around the Daintree. The experience was absolutely delightful. This is a beautiful place in every sense and the view of sunrise from our rooms was so special. Our room was very clean and comfortable and the bed is such a gorgeous feature of the room....

This was the first stop of our honeymoon, perfect getaway after the stress of the wedding. Carmen was welcoming and warm and happy to share her knowledge of the area and not a bad word to say about anyone (although her shrugs spoke volumes!) The only food served is breakfast, which was lovely. But this meant we had to fend...

I'm very late in writing this review, but really had to say how wonderful our stay was at Cockatoo Hill - Carmen is such a lovely and charming host, and the property itself is just stunning. The views to the coast and the rainforest, the beautiful butterflies, and the luxurious cabins combined to make this a really perfect end to...

We chose Cockatoo Hill retreat as part of our destination for our honeymoon, and our stay there was nothing short of amazing. We were greated by Carmen as if we were relatives coming to stay, and this warmness continued through out our stay. Nothing was a trouble, she was very helpful in recommending and booking our tours, and gave great...

We had a great stay with lovely host Carmen. We arrived in the dark and were warmly welcomed by Carmen. There are only four tree houses and when we were there, we were the only guests, so we felt really privileged. The tree houses are beautifully decorated and the view is marvelous: you wake up with a view over the...

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon. Carmen was the perfect hostess and nothing was too much trouble. She gave us discounted tickets to cross over on the ferry when we went to Mossman Gorge for the day and gave us loads of other tips about things to do in the area. The only downside was...
