Sat at restaurant, no acknowledgement, waited, no apology… when asked … waiter said not his problem. Continental breakfast finally arrived … uncooked crossaints. Accommodation vg crisp clean sheets, room smelt fresh .. Otherwise do not waste your time with meals. Restaurant couldn’t really be bothered servicing let alone providing customer service. Informed management whom said was going to get back but obviously he couldn’t be bothered either.
Just off Highway 1 and 10 mins walk to Ellerslie station with quick access to the CBD Greenlane Motel is a great value for money place to stay . I had to extend my stay due to Covid lockdown and Sean was so supportive in helping me arrange what I needed. Defintely recommend
This place was great to stay in with friends. There was a big group of us and the rooms were well accommodating. The rooms were clean and tidy. Good size for the Delux Double. The bed was comfortable. Would stay here again for sure.
Friendly and helpful staff. Great to be able to watch cable tv. However, the tv is really small and you cant see if if you are lying in bed. You cant tilt it to face you. This seems like a small thing but it's really annoying after a long day to not be able to watch the tv comfortably. If they could just get a bigger one and out it on an arm that tilts towards the pillow area that would be much appreciated. Also would be good to have some warm blankets. But again, really friendly and helpful people, offer to carry your bags take you right to you room, etc.
The deluxe room was a good size it seemed clean enough - some age showing in shower and fittings- nothing flash. Was quiet but traffic was minimal when we stayed. Bed was very firm. (hard) Hand wash container in bathroom empty (small cake of soap supplied)The communal kitchen for breakfast is nothing like the well stocked clean room shown in a photo on another website. We knew is was basic but a loaf of sandwich bread in the frig, cheap butter spreads, large jars marmite/jam (no sachets) everything shared with other people putting hands and utensils in the containers, milk past the use by date, small half used bag of muesli or cornflakes, sticky utensils , no dishwash, dirty wash cloths. I took utensils to our room and washed with boiling water and cooked my own porridge in the microwave in our room - partner went to McDs. A traveller used a cup and just rinsed it and put is back in the communal pile. This is during covid ! Room had kettle, toaster, glasses and cups, 2 sachets each of tea coffee sugar no milk and no utensils. Just the handbasin to wash them. I left our dirty dishes in the hope that someone would take them and wash them properly. Given the state of the kitchen I wonder if covid precautions were taking place elsewhere.i.e. sanitation. We had an average takeaway from the restaurant downstairs - covid protocol not observed. Parking is available but tight. A one time stay for us. Was close to where we needed to be. Was contactless service. Might have been value for money if breakfast was actually a no risk extra!!…
I wouldn’t come back as it’s not really a motel as such. More like a nice dorm. I would never bring my wife here, she would have moved to another motel with or without me. Would be good for a bed for work or if you are a bloke. The free breakfast is not what’s on the photos, has the cheapest muesli and bread available from a supermarket. The place could do with a jolly good clean. Head down the road to the next available motel for another $20/night would be money well spent.
Poor Motel for the price. Every thing feels dirty and grubby in the room. Kettle area filthy, hairs on the bathroom floor and clogged ceiling fan.......YUK! Cleaner needs a sight test!!! No plates, eating utensils or washing up items provided either.
Sad to see such terrible operators working in Auckland! Took my money, got nothing for it and such a rude and unhelpful person. Pay your money but don't expect a room in return, just an empty wallet. It happened to me, it can happen to you. See you in court!
Average Motel at best. No sign or information given to me about the free breakfast. Large black hair on the bathroom floor. No plates, cutlery or washing up facilities to have food in the room. Signing on the road is poor and access is a nightmare on small mini roundabout. All in all quite a poor budget motel for travellers.
Difficult to locate due to minimal signage. Horrible road access. Driving a V6 Sedan which we couldn't safely park or even turn around and ended up backing out onto Gt Sth Rd. Ouch! Sign directed to reception but this was just a white board with messages written on it. No office - a laundry room but no person to check in with?? Thought I had booked into motel, pictures looked good but it felt like back packers or student village - didn't even locate the room we booked and left - how do you even cancel this booking. Incredibly bad experience but then I suppose you get what you pay for and I should have known better. We had to laugh at the experience as it was just a joke to be sold as a motel....
