Our stay at Dewachen hotel enhanced our Gangety experience even more. The hotel is best described as an intimate inn with traditional Bhutanese architecture and décor. The rooms are quite big with windows, very clean with a Bukhari ( wood burning room heater - stove ) which the staff would heat up for you during turn down. We both liked... More

We had a corner room with nice views across the valley. The only method of heating is a small wood burning stove and there is extra wood outside the room. The stove can burn wood at a rapid rate unless you close it down a bit by shutting the drawer till there is only a small gap. The staff are... More

We stayed in Dewachen Hotel for couple of nights this week. As it Phobjika Valley doesn't have much options and out of them Dewachen is undoubtedly the best option according to me. There are two wings in this hotel- old and new. We were put up in old wing. Old wing rooms are cosy and comfortable with traditional style fire... More

After a long drive through some pretty rough road conditions, it was a delight to arrive at Dewachen Hotel and check in to a very cosy, comfortable and traditional style hotel room. Staff are sweet, obliging and helpful and they made our stay a pleasant one. The hotel is located in the magnificent Phobjikha Valley and each room has a... More

Phobjika valley.....the place itself is like a dream to me and Hotel Dewachen is the best place to stay here at Phobjika. The best part that I liked about the rooms...each room has a small cute fire place (very much workable) and supplied with sufficient amount of wood which kept us warm whole night. Staffs are very friendly. Food is... More

Probably the best hotel in Phobjikha Valley. Small, beautiful property. Clean, spacious rooms with good views. Lights in the rooms were dim, so need to ask for more lights if plan to read in the evening. Log heating available in each room. Staff work hard and are welcoming and responsive. Food was about manageable, somewhat limited menu also, which is... More

We were extremely suprised to find such a beautiful hotel in this valley. The rooms are spacious, simple but decorated with taste. They are quite chilly, though, so back down a pyjama if you are one of those who easily get cold at night. You can ask for a fire in the stove, but the heat will not keep for... More

Rooms are horrifically dim, only 2 side table lamps and a couple of white candles were placed inside the room if more light needed by guests (quite shocking to see candles). The toilet flush doesn't work and the shower had a window large enough for passers-by to look in from the outside (very strange design). We also spotted cockroaches in... More

We were on the bumpy roads for 8-9 hours from Thimphu, so it was a really pleasant experience when we met with a clean and spacious room. In fact, this is my favourite room out of all other hotels I stayed in Bhutan. The heater was working great. The view was awesome. We also had foot massage in the room... More

It's a nice hotel offering fantastic views of the valley. Feel relax sitting at the restaurant having a cup of tea and enjoying the valley views. Really like the building facade. We only stayed for 1 night. Would be good to stay longer.
