The Dewachen Hotel, almost as beautiful as the Probjika Valley, has great features and, depending on the time of year, at least one drawback. Set back from what approximates the main road in the Probjika Valley, the Dewachen Hotel features classic Bhutanese architecture with modern flares. The lobby and rooms are tastefully styled and furnished. Large glass windows and balconies...

Arrived at this charming hotel in the Phobjika Valley after a long dusty journey and felt at home right away. The hotel is in typical Bhutanese style (as almost all hotels in Bhutan are) ...lots of warm colour and lots of wood. We had nice comfy rooms with a Bukhari Stove for heating. Beautiful woven bed covers typical of the...

It can easily be considered the best hotel in Phobjikha valley. The place is beautifully located and serves as a wonderful peaceful get away option. The valley is famous for its migratory Black Necked Cranes and one can walk down or drive in to see the magnificent birds. The hotel is tastefully built with traditional Bhutanese infrastructure. We visited in...

Dewachen hotel is one of the best hotel in Phobjikha valley, from where you will be able to see wonderful view of the valley in addition to wonderful service and room facilities. If you are staying there you could actually take a hike around the valley easily.

That it was full even in the low season is a testament to its popularity. We enjoyed a great 2 days here and wished we had longer. The hotel is full of character, and characters. It offered everything we needed but provided so much more in terms of the welcome, the views and the lovely rooms.

We came to Phobjika with a Naturetrek group to see the Black-necked cranes and this was the hotel the company used. Their choice was excellent. No Wi-Fi, no central heating and I got the impression that electricity was new! But there was a log burning stove which was quietly lit while we had dinner (and hot water bottles put in...

I wasn't in the most receptive of moods when I reached the Dewachen. The road to Gangtey from Wangdue was one of the worst I can recall, and only the skill of our driver prevented us from crashing down into a ravine. It was dusk when we reached the hotel, so I couldn't see it to best advantage; the reception...

Our stay at the Dewachen Hotel was delightful. We had a corner room which was rather spacious. The wood burning heater was a delight and the hot water bottles worked rather well while sleeping. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant had beautiful views with large windows and it gave us the opportunity to see the black necked...

Dewachen Hotel is probably the best deal we got during our entire trip to Bhutan. It is an incredibly charming hotel in a place straight out of a BBC documentary. The hotel itself is very, very appealing in its design, and the rooms are incredibly spacious and well laid out. The fireplace in each room adds an old world and...

The road getting here had been washed out with landslides, so our arrival time was seriously delayed. Nevertheless, we were greeted late at night by a friendly staff, and our room was spacious, warm, and beautifully appointed. the views from the room and the dining area were spectacular! They overlooked the valley.
