The rooms are outdated, breakfast looked like It was prepared by a 7 year old. I stayed here for 12 nights for business purposes, no other optional hotel nearby. The staff hardly said hello, even though they have a poster on the wall with a set of rules how to behave. The price was chocking, 1595,- for the night is...

Norway is expensive. But still had a hard time with the value/service proposition of this hotel. We arrived in Kongsvinger around 7:00 at night, and wanted to stop for the night. Saw some bad reviews, but opted to ignore them. This was pretty much the only hotel around in October. Called from the parking lot. Was quoted one outrageous price....

Was here on a business trip and the client booked me in here, when I first arrived it looked nice and my room was ok but after that things went down hill fast - Restaurant had only 3 choices of Starters and mains which don't change but if you have any problems like me with what you can eat then...

Not many people know that, but Kongsvinger was already a famous destinations for viking royals. The hotel reminds us of its glorious past. It was known as Vinger at the Glomma, an important place who was already mentioned in the famous viking's sagas. It is more expensive than most of the hotels in Scandinavia. Yet, it was worthwhile to be...

Being the only real hotel in Kongsvinger, this is obviously where you would book your comfortable stay. The good things: We were greeted with a smile from the man at the front desk, who informed us on the most important things, such as breakfast hours and how long the restaurant was open. From reading previous reviews on TripAdvisor, I can...

Although staff were quite helpful via email before actual arrival, once we arrived there were a number of discrepancies. Very few staff around. Good job we're pretty self sufficient. Booked a double room with my husband to be greeted by two small twin beds, pictures when I booked showed double beds, reception told me they didn't have any double beds...

This hotel has a great staff. The room was a bit worn, but clean. Nice bed. Perfect location when on business trip in Kongsvinger, right by the town center. Free wifi and carpark. Lovely cod for dinner! Average breakfast if you compare with other hotels in Norway.

I have stayed at Vinger Hotel maybe twenty times during as many years. The interior and most rooms looks exactly the same as it did the first time I was here, just more run down. I had room 429 this time, for the princely sum of NOK 1270 for single occupancy. It felt like I had been robbed! The staff...

I have been travelling for 30 years, these days I see hotels like this not often. It is more or less as if time stopped 1977ish. Details like shower hose terrible, bathroom tiles with a colour that made my teeth yellow in the mirror were the most obvious. What was positive ? Staff attitude and (with some doubt) breakfast. The hotel is old and run down. Some of the rooms are ok, with no carpets and ok bathrooms. The rooms that havn't been renovated are terrible. The service and food is ok, but unless you are certain of getting one of the "renovated" rooms, it's not a place to stay over night.

Tank you for taking the time to write this response. We're painfully aware that some of the non-renovated rooms are not up to standard. The rooms remaining to renovate is usually used only by agreement with the guest or when the hotel is full. We're sorry that you got one of these rooms this time and if you'll visite us...
