Last week of December,2019 we visited with three families for three days at Baranti ,purulia. We stayed at MAHULBAN HlLL RESORT which is situated at the lap of Baranti Hill and beside the baranti dam.Location of the resort is exotic serene as the place is not crowed with tourists. The staff of the resort were very well mannered and cordial. Quality of food was very tasty that was traditional bengali type specially the preparation of deshi chicken. We also enjoyed the tribal dance of purulia in the evening. The dance program was fully arranged by the manager who is good human beings and very cooperative . Overall it was totally rejuvenating for all of us to visit Baranti.

I have booked 5 rooms ranging from 1100 to 1300 from 9 th to 10 th January after seeing the review in trip advisor. The resort is near Baranti lake and quite a good place to visit with friends. The price of room is low and facility is according to the price you pay. The food quality was not so good and do not meet our expectations. For tribal dance the hotel will arrange for it , but you have to pay a hefty sum of RS 4000/- for it which is too much for 40 min program. The cost of barbeque is also high. Overall it is a good place if you can visit in group.

On 02/01/2020 I ,alongwith my family went to baranti for a short trip. We booked a room at Mahulban Hill Resort that is located at the adjacent of baranti hill and Muradi hill for two days. All the staff of the resort were very good and very cooperative. Qulity of food is very delicious. I think "Mahulban Hill Resort " is the best resort in purulia.

I check in here on 11th and checked out on 12th of jan. The warm hospitality , the pleasurable ambience was very enjoyable. They serve traditional bengali food which is worth trying out specifically the country chicken curry ( deshi murgir mangsho ) served with warm rice. The staff is very friendly and also cooperative. Will definitely visit again.

The thing is place is quite nice but the management is totaly bad..Mainly manager Mr sudipto roy.. It is quite good that i am calling him mr now..Actual he is a psycho.. For serving one plate he knocked our door atleast 10 times.. For sitting in the park area at the time of bone fire, he refused to give the chair to us.. He refused to give us a bottle of water exchange of rs 100 and even force us to clear the bill on the day before checkout day.. And the last day when we will checkout after all the clearance he said that ki ebar moja dekhun and took our key of car and harrased us many way.. So he actually hampered our all the journey.. And one more thing we don't even got the hot water on the time of taking bath.. And all the food was without salt and extra spicy.. So overall it was a horrible experience.. If anyone is thinking about to book this hotel, please don't..

I got to know about this hotel somewhere in the the internet. I rang up and was received by the owner Mr. Rajeev Pandey, who quickly added me to Whats app and thereafter all communications were done through it. he sent me the pictures of the hotel along with the rates and also mentioned the pros and cons of the hotel. I sent the money through NEFT and my rooms were booked. The individual cottages are better, but those were booked and we were left with no other option than to take upper floor rooms, which were newly built and had no TV or geyser, though they arranged hot water in buckets in the morning. Rooms are small but clean. Service was very good. it is better to take food in package system. food quality was also quite good. Muradi dam (a very small dam) is a few minutes walk from this hotel. There is not much to do in Baranti, but to relax and enjoy the nature. We visited nearby Garh Panchakot and Panchet dam in the afternoon. If you visit here in winter don't forget to purchase local jaggery.
