The whole staff always make us feel at home, treating us in the most warmly and friendly manner you can expect, specially our dearest friend Salvador Magaña who is ready to attend every detail; from the reservations to the reception and departure Salvador is always there to make things easygoing.
Location is unbeatable, just a few meters from the beautiful and quite beach, 7-minute walk from Puerto Morelos main square and 30 minutes from Cancun International airport.
Just one block away there are several good eateries, restaurants and bars.
During our Motorcycle journeys throughout Mexico there are few spots like Ojo de Agua hotel at Puerto Morelos that meet the requirements to accommodate our groups as final destination, most of our clients always choose to stay a day or two after completion of the tour, just for the joy of staying a little bit more at this beautiful place.
Highly recommended!!!

We were able to sleep for a night in puerto morales before spending the rest of our week at a local resort but did not feel safe or comfortable while here. Please do not look at photos and the carefully curated video of the property as think it is accurate or representative of your actual experience. I do not like to leave an unpleasant review but I also expect reviews and promo materials to be truthful and not qualify as a bait and switch.
The beach club directly behind the building is NOT associated with the hotel. To get to the hotel beach club and restaurant, take a left out of the lobby and another left and you can’t miss it. Wonderful breakfasts and friendly service from Jesus and Stephanie! At the beach club, reserve a Bali bed for about $60 USD per day which includes about $40 USD worth of food and beverage. Ask for Julie and she will take care of you! Get an hour long massage for only $50 USD.
Only a block from the hotel are wonderful restaurants and two blocks away is a huge grocery store for anything you may need, including an ATM.
The hotel also arranged for a cab to take us to the airport for only $30 USD including tip and the driver seemed genuinely delighted to take us. All in all, we had a wonderful time in Puerto Morelos and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!
I must pay out of pocket for remaining 3 nights at $155. I called Expedia and was on hold forever . After days at the airport, I just wanted a room. I paid out of pocket
Returned home and Expedia told me the reservation was never canceled. I was lied to. Agents and supervisors from Expedia repeatedly tried to contact the hotel to no avail. When Expedia reached them, they tried to deny the refund despite the fact the room was already paid for
In addition, I arrived home to see a “double charge “ on my statement. In addition to being lied to about the Expedia reservation, they charged my card two times in the amount of $155
I was a repeat customer here. No more. I had to fight tooth and nail to get my refund from Expedia. Salvadore and the crew at the front desk lost a customer. Complete and total dishonesty
Once we checked in we discovered we had to carry our luggage up the stairs to the third floor, stairs that were barely wide enough for a suitcase and with no air conditioning or windows for a breeze. Or was hotter than outside and led to an equally hot hallway. Paint was faded, chipped, and generally appeared to have not been maintained in years.
Arriving at our room we discovered the air conditioning was off and the room was sweltering. We had a reservation and had confirmed the day before and could not believe we were sent to a room that was nearly 100F. The air conditioner sort of worked cooling the room to a barely tolerable 80.
Once we got past the heat we noted the terrible condition of room. The refrigerator was just sitting in the middle of the floor, not plugged in, door hinge broken. The shower was missing a glass door, the water came out brown, and the bed was lumpy and terribly uncomfortable.
So much more I could say to emphasize just how much the experience shown online was very curated and misleading.
I cannot recommend, even at the low rate or was a terrible experience.
