We stayed here one night on our way to Montreal. We had a beautifully appointed room with a large, very comfortable bed. The owners were very kind, and it was clear they took pride in their work. The wife's English wasn't great, but she was trying and her husband was able to translate whatever she didn't know right away. We aren't B&B people, and it definitely felt like we were staying in someone else's home. We camped out in our room. Mimi the dog is very nice. Breakfast was delicious and we had great choices. It would have been nice if the bathroom had a door, but it wasn't a big deal. This was an excellent choice for passing through the area.

We stayed at this B&B on our way to NB, via Maine. We loved it so much we came back on our way home from NB. The place is very, very clean. The bed sheets were crisp and fresh. The bathroom was spotless. We stayed in Petite Ourse & Grande Ourse downstairs and used the shared lounge between us two couples. I didn't even know about the dinner option. However, we were dying to eat at Chez Pierre & Celine from our last trip out that way (amazing French Onion soup & authentic poutine & smoked meats). The first morning we had French toast for breakfast. Her maple butter on that toast was divine! Loved it! The second morning on our way back we had crepes and maple sausages (homemade from their sugar shack). Impossibly, it was even better than the French toast. Sooooo good. I don't even like sausages very much but those maple sausages were delicious! Yes, they have a dog but Mimi didn't go downstairs so we didn't have issues... though she is adorable I wouldn't have minded. We couldn't get any cell service and the WiFi doesn't seem to work downstairs... but I don't mind being "unplugged" for two days. It made it a real vacation. We also watched a movie off our laptop in the downstairs lounge, stored on my hard drive. The home is very beautifully designed and impressive that they built it all themselves... took them over a year to cut all the wood for the beams, floors and furniture. They are planning to move their sugar shack to the property. I'd love to go in the fall during maple season. All their maple products are amazing. I asked to buy some maple butter but she didn't have much left and said she'd have more after the next maple season. In short - great food, spotlessly clean. Thanks for a beautiful stay!!! I'll definitely go again.

The house and property are promising but we felt like intruders, not guests. Not clear what areas are common so we hid out in our room. No TV in the room...wifi ok at least. Highlight was escaping to Piopolis for a more friendly dinner. Pricey for what you get. Standard hot breakfast is cooked to order.

This is a wonderful place to stay if you are visiting Mont Megantic park or traveling to or from Maine via route 27 (an excellent scenic route). The house is surrounded by woods; we saw a family of wild turkeys walking through the yard. The interior is beautifully appointed, spacious, and very clean; the beds and bathrooms were very comfortable and completely satisfactory. The owners are friendly and accomodating, although it helps if you speak a little French as Lise's English is not too good (Fabien speaks English well but is not always around). In addition to breakfast, they also offer dinner the night before if you arrange it in advance. We took that option and weren't sorry. There aren't many other dining choices nearby, but even many of the fine restaurants in Quebec City would be challenged to compete with Lise's cooking! If you want to attend the evening astronomy presentation at the Astrolab in the park, they will even make the reservations for you in advance. They keep a couple of dogs in the house which are very friendly with guests, so that may be either a plus or minus depending on your feelings about dogs. Also, if you're not an early riser, I'd recommend trying for an upstairs room. Lise is in the kitchen quite early to start breakfast, and in our downstairs room we found the floor upstairs to be very creaky and not well insulated for sound - we could hear every step she made. Again, that may or may not be a problem for you.

We were looking for a place to stay the night that was close to the border and there weren't allot of options. We came upon this place and what a gem. We will definitely be going back for a longer stay. The room was spacious as was the bath room. The house was lovingly built by hand by the owner. Breakfast was amazing. Too much to say but we loved it and will be back. BTW there is no cell phone service.

We followed reviews on TA and decided to try this B&B which is just across the border from Maine. Initially it was a bit hard to find (be sure to get directions from the owners) but once we got there we received a warm welcome from Fabien and Lise. We stayed in a room in the main building The bed was comfy, and our room had a bathroom curtained off from the main space, as well as a cozy corner to sit on very comfortable home-constructed chairs. Everything in the room was made of wood from the owners' wood lot. As we fell asleep, bread baking for the morning scented the room! They also provided maple syrup and delicious maple butter from their own production for breakfast. Breakfast is taken on two large tables beside the kitchen under very high ceilings. Lise offered choices, and we had the French Toast, fluffy and beautiful, made with Lise's home made bread. Who could resist after smelling it the night before?

What a beautiful place, built by the owners from logs taken off their own land. Slept in one of the small cottages they have, super nice, clean, and comfortable. If you are planning a trip to Mont Megantic, or a tour in the area, this place is definitely worth looking at. The breakfast was great and plentiful. Small note of caution, GPS address does not lead to the right end of the property. If coming from the Woburn direction, go about 4 minutes further than the map indicates.

From the main road, it is easy to miss the sign for Sous un Ciel etoile. The building is set back a bit in the woods and is not particularly impressive upon first view. But look closer and you will see that it has been hand-hewn of magnificent local logs and has many big windows on three levels. The property has rustic "tree houses" and chalets bordering a stream, but we stayed in a ground floor room (named the "Grande Ourse") in the main building. Our room had a beautiful private bathroom with a huge shower enclosure, queen bed, and private lounge (which could be shared with the other room on the ground floor, "Petite Ourse"). All the windows looked out into the quiet woods. The furniture (as well as the entire house) was designed and constructed by Fabien and Lise, the amiable inn keepers, out of trees from their own forest. It was snug, warm, and welcoming on this chilly autumn evening. Their pooch "Peanut" was a joy to have around. Lise made a delicious breakfast complemented by maple butter and syrup harvested from their abundant maples. I can't say enough about how spotlessly clean it is. Amazing decor. The big screen TV in the upstairs living room is available to guests, but we chose to relax in the smaller lounge downstairs between the Grande Ourse and Petite Ourse rooms. There isn't a TV in this lounge, but we watched Netflix on our laptop. Very quiet. Comfortable bed. Since this was a weeknight, Lise wasn't cooking dinner. So we ate in nearby Piopolis at Auberge au Soleil Levant. Thank you, Lise and Fabien, for a lovely evening and wonderful breakfast!

We enjoyed a remarkable stay at Sous un Ciel Etoile in August 2012. Fabian and Lise are terrific inn-keepers. We had an upstairs room with a lovely private bath. The property offers breakfast (included in the room rate) and dinners (extra). We tried the chicken and salmon dishes and enjoyed them both immensely. Breakfast varies from day to day with custom made eggs offered daily. Breakfast always includes maple butter and usually maple syrup made right on the premises! There is a hot tub outside that is beautifully sited on the property, but we were too busy to spend time there. Both Parc Mont Gosford and Parc Mont Megantic are nearby and both offer hiking trails, etc. You need to travel a bit to Notre Dame des Bois, Piopolis or Megantic, if you are not eating at the B and B. There is WiFi throughout the premises, a large screen TV in the living room and access to a computer. Off the road a bit and a very quiet location. Beautiful dark skies from the front lawn. Property does not have a pool or fitness center. A real country treat.
