We have had the pleasure of visiting this excellent beautiful hotel on a few occasions. On the last stay we were so impressed we went again with 4 of our close friends and had a great time. The people hear are just so attentive friendly and really care that your stay with them is the best you can have from day one to your leaving date. The food is just perfect always fresh and soooo delicious the accomodation is great and kept clean and tidy by the room service who look after you. The hotel reception are so friendly and always ready to help. We are lucky enough to be able to take 3 to 4 holidays a year we normally try to visit different places each time but in the case of the Grand Mabely we always reserve 7 to 10 days of our holiday time to return to them we love this place so much.

This hotel is not what they say it Is..... AVOID AT ALL COST..... It's out of the way you need a hire car... It's in need of a desperate refurbishment Really tired hotel.... When we were there we witnessed a argument with the bar staff resulting in one of them throwing their phone across the bar...... The food is not good same same same.... NOT AT ALL 5 STAR .... THINK AGAIN

Nice hotel, clean, good food, friendly and helpful staff. Nice and peaceful surroundings. Close to shipwreck beach. Hire car needed. Good for hiking/walking. Other very good places for meals close by.

The brochure photographs and the initial impression of this hotel is generally good. Set on a hillside, overlooking the sea in 60 acres of verdant pines and olive trees, the hotel is about 35 minutes (€50) from Zakynthos airport. The public rooms were initially impressive, but the soft furnishings are grubby and the seat cushions in dire need of replacement. Some of the décor was in need of a makeover. The bar and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful and overall, the buffet meals of very high quality. For those not on the fully inclusive option, the price of drinks (including bottled water) was high. There is a problem with wasps around the restaurant and pool bar – while the hotel cannot control wildlife, there seemed little effort to control the wasps and a number of guests suffered impressively uncomfortable stings. The executive suites are a misrepresentation, falling well below expectations and my experience of many other Greek hotels; the furnishings are poor quality, the bedding and pillows uncomfortable. The “private pool” was unheated (like all the pools) and overlooked by other rooms and passing guests. These suites are located away from the main hotel down a very steep hill. This hotel is however entirely unsuitable for those with mobility issues; while the hotel golf buggy will collect and deliver guests to their rooms on request, there are steps down to the pools and also within the dining room, which is laid out on a number of different levels. There is however nothing locally; Kampi “village” is a hamlet of a few houses and a church with no shops or tourist facilities. The Porto Schiza tavern about 400 metres from the village is worth the walk for good food, cold drinks and wonderful views, particularly at sunset. The shuttle bus service is complimentary but must be booked in advance for trips to the nearest beach, (about 30 minutes away) and other destinations of interest. The mini-bus seats only eight, and the trips are very popular. The shipwreck beach trip was cancelled on a number of occasions due to windy weather, when the connecting boat cannot land on the beach. There was no reliable mobile phone signal at the hotel and the Wi-Fi was effective only in a small radius of the reception desk and under the router by the staircase. There was no Wi-Fi in the rooms, and yet at every small taverna I visited, the Wi-Fi was excellent, even all the way down the beach. The room air-conditioning was good quality and the flat screen TV modern, although the English-speaking TV channels were limited to news only. The mini-bar fridge was empty, and fresh, bottled water delivered on the arrival day only. There were no tea and coffee facilities, and when a fellow guest requested these in her room was told “this was not allowed for health and safety reasons”. My bathroom was of very poor quality with a bathtub shower than had no thermostatic control, leading to water that varied between tepid and scalding; the painted tiles were ingrained with dirt and mould, and when the bath emptied, fetid water filled the bathroom floor through an open drain in the middle of the room. Overall, this is the hotel if you wish to get away from it all, “off the grid”. There are however no local facilities within walking distance and the hotel is not of five-star quality. The executive suite was of a lesser standard than the junior suite we looked at in the main hotel building. This offering needs a critical review and investment to live up to the brochure promises.

We experienced exactly how this hotel and setting was described, if you do your research it is about 45 minutes from airport at the high point of the island this is how you get stunning views of the Ionian Sea and sunsets. The hotel provides a mini-bus to various places if you like to swim in sea or Alykes if you require a easy access to sea and shops, also a great cafe with a very good coffee called The Terrace. The bedrooms are good size with a comfortable mattress. The main sitting room is very grand with two stairways off it with a grand piano near the bar area which we enjoyed the music evening with the saxophonist and pianist playing familiar pieces also another evening a man with a fantasticTenor voice entertained. If you want a get away from it all to recharge the batteries look no further,if you want a touristy area then this is not for you. Staff very friendly and if you have a problem you only need to ask and in our experience all is done to help.Thank you we have every intention of returning.

Room, food, and outside and inside areas excellent. Nice, helpful, friendly staff generally. Some of the rooms are down the hill from the reception/restaurant although you can ring to get a buggy to pick you up and drop you back to your room. There were many wasps around when I was there so could not sit on my balcony as they kept flying there to drink the water on the floor left by the rain showers. I complained and they said they would get someone to spray around. that only worked for an hour or so. Quite isolated so if you have a mobility problem the hilly roads will not suit you to walk off site.

Visited first week in September- weather was lovely and hot - location is isolated but that makes it lovely and quiet- couple of great tavernas to go to (if you eat at the taverna the owners usually pick you up and bring you back if you book through reception) they are definitely worth a visit- hotel is in need of some tlc would’ve been lovely when new but needs attention in lots of places- very quirky place for Greek hotel (more like the ritz with grand piano and fancy staircases and carpeted rooms and like faulty towers on the way it is run - coffee bean coffees not in all inclusive but you can get a triple measure of Teachers whiskey- sometimes they do a drunks run around the pool area and sometimes they don’t- no flip flops for men at night in the restaurant but fine for women- but no consistency on dress code for either sex but it does add to the fun as to what if anything will happen on the day. All staff were excellent friendly helpful and really are an asset to this hotel - the food was okay but wouldn’t say it was five star and was quite repetitive but again the service and staff were excellent- overall if you want a quiet fly and flop in the sun it’s fine.

Lovely hotel, the problem for us was we went on the first open day of the year, so not all the things there were open like the sauna, beautician, hair dresser and only one pool was up and running, which wasn't too bad as there wasn't a lot of people there. Restaurants were open and the food was exceptional. Room was cosy with everything you wanted. Staff were very welcoming

The hotel is in a very isolated location, do not travel without being all inclusive, a small water is £3.50 for half board. Reception staff are ok, Bar staff are wonderful, but the restaurant service is by far the worst we have ever experienced. We have travelled five star all over the world and have never experienced service like it, the staff in the restaurant are rude obnoxious make up their own rules. We had to set our own table on many occasions throughout the week, had to go to the reception after asking six times for coffee in the morning. The restaurant manager is a bully and she can be seen regularly shouting at staff while promptly going in front of guests to help herself to items from the breakfast buffet. The food is high quality but extremely limited and repetitive. I was offered an additional two days free All Inclusive in a sea view room by the management and have declined this due to the restaurant staff. On one occasion a waiter called a guest a rude name in Greek not knowing that the guest could speak Greek. Not all its cracked up to be, be very aware. Oh and the shuttle bus is a mini-bus we arrived on the Sunday and the first seat on it we could get was Wednesday.

The location of the hotel appears in the middle of nowhere but there is some lovely walks. The Cross is closer than it looks. The local village is gorgeous. The hotel puts on free mini bus rides to some amazing locations for a 4 hour visit. I have to say that the staff at the Mabeley Grand were wonderful. I became ill and they arranged for me to be collected and taken to see a doctor and dentist and then I was taken back to the hotel and every day a range of the staff asked after my wellness. They were so kind and caring and couldn't do enough for you. The whole place was spotless. There was outside and inside dining and as the hotel faced west the sunsets are beautiful to watch whilst dining. Now the only downers are the bathroom tiles on the walls and floor in my apartment had been painted and it was peeling off the floor and the sunbeds at the lower pool were style over substance as you couldn't lie down, there were also double bed style sunbeds but not appropriate for friends. These are very minor issues and did not impact my stay. I would recommend this hotel
