After breakfast, at 8:06 am, we leave Samburu Simba Lodge and it is already 28C. Along the way the signal is strong and we can do a lot of scoping: oryxes, gerenuks, impalas, views and just sounds. At 11:34 we leave by Garamara Gate which looks brilliant painted like a zebra. At 12:12 we enter the Shaba National Reserve using...

It always bring a special relief and feelings to be at buffalo springs and Shaba. Across the Ewaso ngiro river are the beautiful hills to watch – called a place of cows. Cows have to be taken up the hills for pastures. The dry river bed of Ewaso Ng'iro River – whose name is derived is derived from the local...

This was the last stop of our three Kenyan national parks/reserves road trip between June and July 2016. We stayed there in July 2016. It looks like we saved the best for last. Sarova Shaba is by far my favorite hotel in Kenya. The streams are the ones that got me. The property has streams everywhere. Hearing the water flows...

Do not be a hurry for the game drive, rest in the swimming pool, and enjoy the breeze. The evening experience is fulfilling with animals coming...

Room: Very spacious and airy with two large windows to let it light and sounds of animals and the river. The pressure of the shower was amazing and the temperature perfect. The ceiling fan is a huge plus given how hot it is. Food: Amazing! There was a huge delicious spread for every meal and very well stocked bar. The...

On our trip around Kenya, a stop in Shaba could not be missed. Another great lodge by Sharova, with the same excellent attention of the entire staff, the good rooms, food and the splendid views. Don't forget to see the crocodiles!

A well appointed and laid out lodge next to the river. Buffet meals are served upstairs in a large dining area, lots of choices and good quality. The pool is big and immaculately kept. Rooms were in thatch roofed blocks of 4 with 2 ground floor and 2 first floor. Their views from the front were towards the river and...

The Staff at the Shaba are amazing and make you feel right at home from the moment you walk onto the hotel property. The property is very nice with Animals all around. The on item that caught us off guard was the $70 a day per person fee that the county charges you while at the hotel. you have to...
