Beautiful resort consisting of many wooden and glass cottages within a verdant garden and apple trees. On the edge of the property at the bottom of the valley flows the Indus River. The entire resort is well maintained and extremely clean. There are areas such as the cottage-livingroom with a splendid view of the river below, the bar for an aperitif and the restaurant, all made of wood and glass to better appreciate the surrounding panorama. The vegetarian cuisine is excellent and the service friendly and attentive. Be sure to immerse yourself in absolute Indian relaxation with an Ayurvedic massage by experienced masseurs. It's a pity that we only stayed in this resort for one night: the view of the mountains, on the valley and the peace that reigns here are worth staying at least two nights and visiting from here all the monasteries and temples in the valley west of Leh.

We traveled for 2 weeks in Ladakh staying in the best accommodations, and I can say without a doubt this is the best hotel you can find in Ladakh! The grounds are just perfect - fruit trees, walking paths, and an incredible view over the Indus River. There is a perfect yoga shala/meeting space overlooking the river where you can meditate in the morning. The food in the restaurant is the best we had in 3 weeks in India - and they are even willing to accommodate specific requests, like the appetizer tasting platter they made especially for our group. The hospitality is top notch. Ganesh and his team take care of everything, and are very kind people in addition. Every time we came home from outside we were offered apricot juice made fresh from their orchards, which really helped combat the fatigue from high altitude! Thank you Ganesh and team for a wonderful experience.

We spent two nights in a deluxe cabin on a cliff overlooking the river. The room has all the amenities and the bed is very comfortable. We enjoyed an excellent massage and the meals were very good. Although the location and ambience are excellent, the best aspect of the place is the staff. Ganesh and his team are extremely accommodating and gracious, and we highly recommend Ule Ethnic Resort.

As discussed with Management, current practices regarding toilet hygiene are unacceptable. Worse still, on too many occasions toilets in public washrooms do not flush and washbasins do not provide either hot or cold water. We also had issues with the shower in our cottage - faulty shower partitions and too-difficult to control hot and cold water delivery. Power interruptions were not unexpected but it was unhelpful of staff to switch off power to sockets in the cafe when in use for mobile phone recharging. Of course, there are major strong points including sleep quality, willing staff and the setting but good hygiene is an absolute “must”

The Uld Ethnic Resort is a gem. Located on a bend of Indus river and surrounded by spectacular scenery the individual cabins are of a very high standard as are the common areas. Food was excellent and the service was awesome, staff went out of their way to anticipate and then deliver on every need.

We spent amazing three days in the resort. Great hospitality from staff. The iconic homemade apricot juice and jam are delicious. Dining offers a lot of choice from different cuisine. Accomodation is nice in cabins which are spread in green park close to Indus river.

Ule Ethnic Resort - Uleytokpo Location: Very well located near Leh city. Not in any remote location. 1 hr drive from Leh. Right on Leh Srinagar Highway. Right beside gorgeous river Indus. Beautiful landscape in & around the resort with lots of blooming apricot trees all around (in April). Weather: Very Cold. Max temp around 6'c. Min temp around -5'c in beginning of April. Rooms & Housekeeping: Modern, small neat & clean Huts & more expensive small wooden Cottages with good service from housekeeping staffs. F&B Services: Good food & service. Cost / Tariff / Rate @ April '23: Standard Huts rack rates: EP(Bed only) 5,000+. CP(Breakfast) 7,000+, MAP(Breakfast & Lunch / Dinner) 9,700+. Paid Rs 6,500+ per room per night (MAP. Room + Bf + Dinner + Taxes) after 30% Off Season discount in April. We choose this top rated resort in good faith. Stayed 2 nights here and had to suffer during power cuts, as this "outstanding" resort did not have proper solar power or generator - as they are eco friendly! Room Heaters could not be used in bitter cold nights (-5'c), obviously! This pricey star category resort gave hot water in buckets instead of running hot water! Electric kettles couldn't be used even to heat up drinking water! Even Intercom in both rooms were not working! Hence you'll have to take a 5 min walk to the reception every time for everything! On top of everything wi-fi was non-existent in our cottages! The managers know everything. We spoke with multiple staffs during our 2 night & 3 days stay. A few staffs said these things happens regularly and managers will sweet talk their way out by promising to resolve by next day. But most of the guests stay here only for a day or two! Vola! Staffs said they are not properly equipped to supply running hot water in the mornings through their solar water heaters - specially in colder months. Power cuts are not uncommon and only and only emergency lights will be available during these times. This number 1 resort did not deliver anything they promised or supposed to provide. Neither did they mention any where or any time that these basic necessities / facilities /amenities may not be available due to their numerous limitations as solar powered specially-abled resort. This "premier" resort strangely provide vegetarian food only and they are overpriced as they are charging like 5 star. 1k for veg breakfast / guest & 1.5K for veg lunch / dinner. This resort, unlike any other resorts (out side Leh) - is not providing accommodation to tourist car drivers. Our driver was in big trouble. We extensively toured Ladakh and every hotel out side Leh did had the courtesy to provide a night shelter to drivers. Hotel staffs are very polite and helpful but Ule Ethnic Resort failed to deliver very basic necessities even after charging so much & they are doing these regularly. Most of the guests here are first time visitors & made to believe lame excuses by the hotel managers. Sad to witness this systematic & regular unfair trade practice. This smooth talking resort did not provide any monitory discount for its acute service failures. Power cuts but no power back up + no running hot water + no room heater + no intercom & wifi + + + (as mentioned above). But no monitory discount! Great Indian Philosophy & Hospitality. No good hotel does it. They do refund when they can't deliver. All are not same. A number of best hotels in Leh with central heating are cheaper than Ule Ethnic Resort. The silver lining is even most homestays around the Main Market area in Leh are providing all basic necessities (Clean room with good mountain view + Breakfast + Non Veg Lunch / Dinner + No power cut + Room Heater+ running hot water + wifi) well within Rs 2,000 (April '23)! We love Leh.
