Very handy for M1 and beautifully refurbished. Staff are great and food is very good - despite Covid restrictions they have handled it very well. However, the beds are so hard I have ended up folding the duvet as much as possible and sleeping on top!! Also, toilet paper is the cheapest you can buy - bring your own quilted! Shame as it has made me stay elsewhere due to the beds. Nothing mattress toppers won't solve
Very comfortable hotel, really quiet, such a good nights sleep. We chose to have dinner here and breakfast, both very good quality and extremely good value for money. Rooms are warm and cosy, plenty of hot water on tap for a long soak after a days walking. And if you have an EV (Electrical Vehicle), they also have a newly installed charger for residents, ask at reception for details.
Our second visit to the Twin Oaks for lunch & yet again couldn't fault it the food was excellent, plentiful & delicious, I had the steak & ale pie with veg & gravy, fantastic & my friend had the gammon & said it was the best she had had in a long time. We had dessert too, I had Ferrero chocolate cake with fresh cream, scummy & my friend had the coconut cheesecake & ice cream which she said was delicious. The service is 5 star. The tables are spaced as you would expect & plenty of sanitiser. Great value & hope to visit again soon.
we booked an executive room which was excellent 6ft bed lots of space and a walk in shower. Housekeeping staff were great. Good location. Great restaurant and staff and service was exceptional. Attention to detail regarding covid was brilliant, felt very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again.
First of all, the hotel is lovely! The staff were all super friendly, the room cosy, the shower amazingly powerful, breakfast was tasty, bar was cosy. I would recommend. I wanted to give 3.5 stars, 4 seems too many but 3 seems too low. I’ve given them the benefit of the doubt. However.....we paid £81 for a ‘superior double’, and then £20 for two breakfasts. I don’t think our 16 hour stay was worth £100. The website talks about ‘views of Bolsover Castle’, I mistakenly thought a ‘superior’ room might have a view. It did....of the car park! The room was really quite small. But the bed was massive! Honestly, I think laying in that bed was the furthest me and my boyfriend were apart from each other for the whole weekend! I don’t know what a normal room is like but surely it can’t be smaller so maybe it’s the bed that’s smaller so there’s more space in the room? Overall, it’s a lovely warm and welcoming hotel, and I would recommend. I’m just not sure it was worth £100.…
