If you want to escape the hustle of the city and experience nature and Village living without letting go of comfort this is the best place to do so. The hosts are very hospitable ,and a pleasure to talk to, the food was delectable. There is not much to do around the home stay within walking distance so excursions will require your own vehicle and travelling a considerable distance. But relaxing in the homestay is also a delight in itself . The rooms are extremely clean , so are the sheets and the washrooms , hot water is also available on demand.was hoping to play with the dogs on the property but was told not to pet or play with them as they are wary of strangers.

This is an excellent homestay that feels like home. The food is fresh, home cooked and served with affection and courtesy. The dining room is inside the main house where the hosts live and the cottages are located within 25 meters of the main house. The whole area is a verdant green surrounded by forests and plantations as far as the eye can see. We went trekking to Hosahalli Betta which is a fantastic trek where you can drink from fresh mountain streams as you make your way to the top of the hills. The variety of things to do like hiking, trekking and walking in the verdant countryside is truly the highlight of going to this place. The food is five star in taste and variety and the hosts Gautam and his wife are by nature. hospitable people who seem to enjoy running the homestay. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but the towels need to be upgraded to modern day thick turkey towels as the ones provided are extremely thin. Better carry your own towels. This is one homestay which I am certain that I will visit again in the very near future. The weather post-monsoon reminded me of the English Autumns where I spent some years of my life working for the IT industry, several years ago.

Note: If you are a group that is going there just to drink alcohol and talk like drunk real estate people, then this is not the place. This is a place for people who are mature, nature loving and are respectful of the breakfast, lunch and dinner timings set by the host.

This homestay is situated in a great location,  from where you can drive to multiple view points on hills, railway track, waterfalls all situated at about 30-60 mins of drive from this place.  Although the distance to homestay from Bangalore is closer than most other places in Sakleshpur or Chikamagalur it is a little tire some to drive here as the roads are narrow and hilly, but in good condition though.

The hospitality and arrangements were great, they have whiskey glass, bottle opener, refrigerator, first aid box in the  kitchenette room, multiple charging points in room, power backup, hot water.  Get your own towels and extra blanket. Medimix single use will be given.

Food was authentic and simple, host Gowtham helped us get the 4×4 arranged at the point of foot hills by the time we left room and reach the spot. Planning is taken care by host you just follow his instruction.

The homestay as such is divided in to two parts, one is the main residence where the hosts stay, rooms are built in a separate plot on the left side of the main residence.

There are 5 rooms in total plus an additional room within the main residence.  Out of 5,  3 rooms are adjacent and 2 rooms opposite to them. And the camp fire is arranged in the central vacant space surrounded by rooms thus making it an ideal place to party for large groups.

This stay happened to be among the most adventurous trips I did in Karnataka thanks to off reading experience during railway track and hill climbing.

General caution:
Mobile carrier like Jio, BSNL works. Rest rests in peace till you reach/leave Hassan city, so download offline maps in any case
There is no convenienence store as such in the vicinity so buy whatever you want before you start.

Recently had been to Sakleshpura and stayed for three days with friends. Wonderful property and with all required amenities. Being away from the crowd, it is peaceful, spacious property. with plenty of flower trees. The owners, Mr and Mrs Gowtham stay in adjoing bunglow with two beautiful dogs Kiwi and Tofu. They pays a close attention to the needs of the guests. Great service by Mr Gowtham. Both husband and wife come and chat with guests and make your stay comfortable. They even helped us preparing our itenary and arranged the amazing rides to amzing places which are very less known. Rooms are specious, well furnished ith hot/cold running water all 24 hrs. The best part of our Stay is Food. The mouth licking delicious foods. Oh my god....I still have the hangover of those dishes. Morning tea/coffee is served and later breakfast which has veg/egg /non vegeterian dishes. Along with regular menu, local cuisine is served which is very very tasty. In short, excellent homestay. Given an opportunity, will stay agin. Thank you Mr Gowtham and convey my thanks to Ma'am.

We chose Hema Koota Homestay for our first travel after the Pandemic locked us most of the year 2020 in our home. Hema. Koota we chose after reading reviews and it turned out to be a wise choice. Our whole travel experience depends on where we stay and thr hospitality extended. Hema Koota excels in every aspect, be it the location, food, cleanliness & attitude to take that extra step to ensure guests are taken care well.

Mrs & Mr Gowtham are good hosts. Mr. Gowtham accompanied us to near by tourist spots & took us for the railway track trek, which is a great experience. Their daughter, Eshaney joined us for the Mookanamane falls. We had great time there.

Mrs. Gowtham (Manu) serves Delicious food and it was gastronomic delight.

Overall if you are planning a trip to Sakleshpur , Hema Koota is highly recommended.

I recently enjoyed a remarkable stay at Hema Koota in Sakleshpur. The traditional home-made food was exceptional, offering a delightful taste of local cuisine with fresh and locally sourced ingredients. The caring owners provided a welcoming atmosphere, demonstrating genuine hospitality and personal attention to guests' needs. The excellent service from the attentive staff made the entire stay efficient and enjoyable.
For families, the homestay felt like a home away from home also child-friendly spaces ensuring a comfortable environment for kids. The social ambiance facilitated easy connections with fellow guests, enhancing the overall experience as we explored nearby places together. The owners acted as perfect guides, offering valuable insights and arrangements for visiting local attractions.
Hema Koota provided a harmonious blend of cultural immersion, warm hospitality, and efficient service. Highly recommended for travelers seeking an enriching experience in Sakleshpura. A big thank you to Mr. Gowtham, your wife and very kind Rahul for creating such lasting memories. Love you guys.

We were welcomed by very handsome and humble 61 yr young gentleman , Mr Gowtham, to his heavenly abode Hema Koota - very beautifully maintained property highlighted by its cleanliness and peace amidst nature.
We were guided with some extremely beautiful offbeat spots - Bisle view point, Kaginahare view point, Karigundi natural pond (crystal clear water with some free fish spa therapy), Mookanmane falls and Hoysala Betta
None of these spots are to be missed.
Lastly, the highlight of our stay was the extremely delicious and lipsmacking food prepared by Mrs Gowtham. In our 3 nights stay, we have had variety of chicken and fish preparations along with some local cuisines... Desserts provided everyday need a special mention. Mrs Gowtham definitely needs some recognition for her culinary skills and we recommended her to launch her own cooking Channel 😀
All in all, this stay was a wonderful memory marked in our diaries and we won't think twice before planning to visit again.

Note - Don't forget to pick up the home grown spices before leaving the place 😀

We recently had a fantastic reunion at 'Hemakoota Homestay' with a group of five college friends. Our time there was filled with laughter, heartfelt conversations, late-night carrom games, and enjoyable light treks. The standout feature, though, was undoubtedly the delicious food prepared by the hospitable owners. The variety and taste of the dishes were truly impressive.

Speaking of the owners, their warm and helpful demeanor enhanced our experience. They not only cooked for us but also engaged in conversation, played with us, and shared valuable insights about offbeat places to explore in the area. It was a well-spent day that left us with cherished memories.

Without doubt one of the best home stays I stayed till now! Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the hosts of the home stay, We were given a comfortable and clean cottage with a beautiful verandah which was absolutely perfect for our pet to rest . The hosts were extremely friendly, and the for the delicious food the host deserves a special thanks. We had two great evenings here, which obviously also added up to the experience.

The first day we did a train tunnel trekking which was guided by Esha, who was enthusiastic and kept us more lively throughout the trekking experience. Esha is such a warm personality and highly motivated person (recommendable!). I truly enjoyed walking inside the dark tunnel and on the hill top the second day. The scenery was beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment.

the atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to me. All respect for the hosts who does a great job here; a true sample of excellent hospitality!

We visited Hemakoota in 2nd week of Oct'21. We were extremely happy with the homely clean environment and the owners Gowtham and his wife Manu always helped us with a smiling face. They aided us to find routes to the nearby places n arranged Jeeps too. The food was amazing n loved each variety of the dishes. Their regional special cuisine like Neer dosa, Kai Ginnu, carrot payasa, Kadubu with gravy were super delicious. They took extra care of the kids liking n prepared different choices for them as well. Admist nature n not much crowded places to visit nearby it's one of the best homestay so far. Will definitely visit again to explore more places nearby n for their mouth watering delicacies.
