The homestay was perfect with respect to nature and stay. It did a complete justice to our expectations. We were a group of 10+ , had great fun amidst the nature and a beautiful narrow river flowing through the property. The staff was Great , very helpful and highly cheerful, fulfilling all our demands to make our stay more memorable. The rooms were clean. Only downside is their is no electricity in the morning , but that's ok , it don't bother us much. So, I would highly recommend this place.

The pictures posted about this resort and the actual reality is different. We stayed here for 1 day. We saw that the resort was not maintained well. Rooms were not clean and there were insects on the bed, floor was not cleaned, there were spider webs all over. Food was not that great and we had to wait for refill, but the refill had different dishes as they had not prepared enough. We also had a bad experience where the faculty member had bumped into our car in the night when it was parked and they dint accept it. They don't have a CCTV camera as well. This is not suitable place for family.

Very nice place to stay with very friendly staff allround. Activities like fire camp, water throw ball, swing. The major advantage is they have medium size falls inside the home stay itself and walking distance to reach very big scenery spot to enjoy. Cons: they stop the fire camp by 10pm which has to be extended. Food taste has to be improved, but we were not worried about this. Overall a very nice place to stay for a day with friends.

Visited during the last weekend of April, with family inluding our 5yrs old German shepherd.Located at the fringe of the forest the resort provides easy access to the meadows nearby.Small hikes are possible to nearby streams and waterfalls, although in summers one can't expect much water. Rooms are decent and food is alright. Staff is helpful and courteous.

We'd been planning to visit Baalecool for a while, since we heard about it from a friend. The positives first: Isolated, serene with great views. It has a little waterfall in the resort, which leads to a little man-made pool. The resort is located at the end of all the commercial resorts and still retains a lot of its natural beauty. The rooms are clean and nice, and the room we had looked out to the waterfall. The Service: The staff there are very helpful and try to make your stay comfortable Campfire: There are separate campfire spots for each set of cabins, which mean you have your privacy and can enjoy the view without being disturbed by guests or disturbing others Treks: There are a few close spots to trek right inside the estate The Drawbacks: No power. Because this is located at the end of the road, it is not connected to electricity yet. The generator runs during fixed hours, but it can get a tad annoying if you have phones / cameras to charge The Food: Not the greatest. It isn't bad but not great either. The place can be a nice stay for those looking to getaway from the noise. It can seem a tad expensive compared to a few other places.

Room can be imporved in maintainance . Just for your information : there is no fan and you cannot charge your mobile in your room . You can get disconnected from the world as there is no network other than airtel . You can do swimming , you can play water/mud volleyball , you can enjoy the falls , you can go trekking to near by green mountains .

What can I say, I choose this place as we were finding a place to go for the December vacation, first choice was Pondi, but all hotels were booked. I think it was blessing in disguise. This place is very close to another resort RottiKallu, but it stands out, because it is pristine, right at the foothill of a hill, which you will taken up for trekking. A stream flows in the middle of the resort. There is also a waterfall inside the resort, but to see its glory one should visit during monsoon. Let me tell you the best part of the stay, the staff here are the best I have seen, they make you feel heavenly. I have to admit (including my wife and kids), the food was really awesome, you get anything you ask for. If there are special requirement in food, talk to the staff, they will ensure it is done. I really put on a few pounds easily. food 5 stars. The trekking was amazing, we never thought we could do it, but the person who took us, he was simply awesome, he made the trekking so easy, goading at us each stage, giving enough breaks, he ensured he carried enough water for everyone. Also, this place has power supply (Generator will be switched on between 6:30pm to 10pm, post 10pm there will be enough backup for one light to work), rest of the time there is no power. Also one doesn't get phone coverage, so its a total breakaway from all disturbance. Kids never complained that they missed TV, because there isn't one and you wouldn't realize it. Since no phone coverage, I switched off my BB and hence my office work :). So if you are one of those whose essential need is phone, TV etc. Please don't go here, you will end-up complaining and spoil your vacation. Overall this break and stay at Baalecool gave every member of my family the much needed break and helped us rejuvenate. This was a total digital detox for me :) If you are one of those who enjoy serene, calm, good food, nature, trekking; then this is the place for you.

was looking for a quick getaway last weekend not too far from Blore... came across a few resorts inn sakleshpur area and some local friends suggested i try this place. drove in friday evening aroud 5.30.... the last 2 KM drive is awesome... specially in that steady rain, misty weather and low visibility... you get to cross a few streams and almost a dirt track drive. the property is really out of the world with just 5 rooms. 2 of them wooden cottages and the rest conventional rooms... chose to stay in a wooden cottage. rooms are a bit too small..... very basic acco. in the given weather, the rooms, mattress, covers were all damp. not much one could do about. The dining area is a nice place of wood and tiles, over the fast flowing stream with the falls in the background. food is again all homely, no pretense, yummy malnad food. the curries are spicy :) thoroughly enjoyed... Vijay, the owner is there around always to help n serve.... while i had wanted to stay 2 nights, the dampness and incessant rain with nothing much to do in that weather made be leave with a promise to come back in better weather... all in all a good experience.... some improvements could be - slightly better aesthetics in the rooms (cant make it bigger since its already built :) unless ijay decides to add more rooms) ... some anti dampener/heater in the rooms to make it drier in the wet weather.... while i am a pet owner myself, the mongrels walking around in dinning area and cozying up against your legs in the cold is not a great comforter...maybe they can be kept away from common areas... slightly more cleaner toilets in the rooms as well as the common toilet, and some fruits at breakfast? otherwse a wonderful VFM place to stay for a day or two, specially for Bangaloreans.... just a 2.5 - 3 hr drive from central bangalore given that the yeshwantpur - hassan stretch of 160 odd kilometers is completely toll roads, not needing more that 100-100 minutes in any decent car to cover, another 75-90 minutes from hasssan bye pass to the resort. Last 26 odd KM from the right turn sakleshpur turn would take about 60 mins since its single road winding thru the ghats and estates n villages. yes carry your own toileteries n towels... and booze. keep up the good place Vijay
