Extremely a nice place to visit and spend time. Food is very tasty and rooms are very clean. The ambience is very nice and it's in the mid of a coffee plantation. Overall experience was very good. Relatively unknown place but service is very good and I strongly recommend.

Eco valley retreat is run by experienced couple Manoj and Sudha, who go all the way out to ensure your stay is comfortable, peaceful, enjoyable and you get your money's worth. It is a small home-stay with 6rooms for 6couples. Children get extra mattresses. Each room has its own private sit-out looking at the surrounding nature. We, four couples, drove from Bangalore in 2 cars for a 3day fun trip. Left Bangalore at 7.30am from Hebbal Police station, en-route had breakfast at Sambram (1 hour drive) - sumptuous tatte idli, masala dosa, vada-sambar, hot coffee with a super-efficient wide-smiled service. Comfortably drove under 100kmph and reached eco valley retreat by 12noon. Welcomed by host couple with pleasant smiles, namaskara, hand-shakes and fresh water-melon juice, Viola !!! first impression conquered. Had our drinks at liesure and assembled for lunch around 2pm, simple but tasty home-cooked lunch mix of south-indian and north, veg and non-veg, totally sated we sauntered to our rooms for a nap. Heavenly ! evening walk to the coffee plantation, not too big but good enough for a casual walk amidst coffee and spices trees. Come evening, take a bath and park ourselves in the Varandah overlooking back-side of the resort, surrounded by greenery, watch long colorful goods-trains pass over distant railway track, whistling and rolling-on, birds returnign to nests, chirping in multitude of melodious tunes and sounds. We sang, listened to music, gup-shupped, drank and ate dinner topped with hot cuppa. Day-1 over, satisfied. Day-2 is dedicated to visiting water falls and byreshwaraswamy temple. Lapping up hot south-north delicious break-fast, we left around 9.30am and after a good one hour drive reached the falls. soaked in for over one hour, dipping feet in the cool flowing water, so rejuvenating. Wish we could stay longer. Headed to the next stop Byareshwarswamy devasthanam, a non-descript, remote, less-documented route to the temple had us loose our way twice and with some struggle and intuition we finally reached this 800 year old single dome weather-blackened structure of the temple. We were late, temple was closed and we had to just satisfy ourselves clicking pics around the templs and amidst lush-green surrounding hill. now we drove back to eco-valley by 2.30pm, had lunch and gup-shupped. Evening bath, donned our party wear and assembled for a barbeque plus bonfire plus retro-bollywood music. Manoj again was at his best barbequing and serving us hot chicken kababs, potatoes etc, rounding up with chicken biryani and hot gulab-jamuns. we stayed back till late late night enjoying the serene dark night around us with occasional chuck-chuck of long goods trains. Day-2 Over, very satisfying. Day-3, we wake up to hot coffee/tea, freshen up and go for a walk, return for hot breakfast, take-bath, pack and leave the resort by 12noon.... with loads of sweet memories and a promise to return to meet Manoj and Sudha again soonly :-). a very good place for group visits, I highly recommend it and am looking forward to the expanded Eco Valley resort to visit again with larger group next time. Keep smiling Sudha and Manoj !

Excellent and enjoyable stay at ecovalley, thanks to the host couple Manoj&Sudha. I visited this place along with my hubby and 3 more couples in Jan 2021. It's a beautiful home stay which has 6 rooms with attatched bath and each having a small balcony/ sit out of it's own. Place is run by Mr. Manoj and Mrs. Sudha. It's fun to be hosted by them. They serve food as per your taste and choice of your time. One of the evenings they even organised barbeque and bonfire for us. In the night you feel as if staying in the wilderness. On the back side of property far away in lush green foliage you can see and hear train passing by. For group travelers it can be really enjoyable. Mr Manoj has plans to enhance the facilities at this place in near future. Will visit again with family and friends and enjoy the expanded resort. Wishing them good luck for future endeavors. This cute eco friendly retreat is nestled amidst a coffee plantation on one side and over looks thick foliage & paddy fields on the other. The property is managed by amazing hosts Mr Manoj & Mrs Sudha. Mr Manoj has experience of over 33 years across finest hospitality chains like Taj, Leela, Radisson etc & has put all his experience in setting up this property. We were amazed by the attention to detail that they had given to make sure the stay is comfortable. The property at the moment has 6 very spacious rooms with individual sit-outs & attached washrooms & is lined with beautiful plants all over. Cleanliness & hygiene are top notch. Rooms come with good comfortable bedding, wardrobes with 2-3 hangars, a mirror, enough plug points to charge all ur gadgets, washrooms with clean towels & toilet paper, fan, crisp linen and some really good food of all types. There were no TVs in the rooms making it the perfect getaway. Mobile signal was good throughout the property. What really made our stay a memorable one was the absolute 5-star hospitality by Mr Manoj & Mrs Sudha. There wasn’t a thing we asked for to which they said no. One evening we requested them if we could get fish in dinner - it obviously tasted amazing but the effort they also put in its presentation was remarkable. I had carried my own wine bottle & I did not expect a place this small to offer me wine glasses & I just asked for a normal glass but the moment Mr Manoj saw me with the bottle he was prompt in offering me fresh wine glasses. Hats off to all their efforts. And all of this service came with a big broad smile & a great attitude. We can’t thank them enough for such a lovely stay & wish them all the very best with their venture.

Me and my wife with our two kids went to Sakleshpur in the midst of news that western ghats are unsafe to stay due to heavy monsoon: all news, we felt were exaggeration. It was a travel of about 4 hours to reach the retreat. Our host Manoj came to the main road to pick up as google stopped assisting. It was about 800m from the main road; interior road was drivable in the midst of a heavy monsoon just on the edge of coffee plantation. We reached around noon and we can clearly feel the freshness of air and cold Malenadu climate. If you are looking for a total break from the life of Bangalore, see no further; this is the place. We freshened up and came out for a walk in the coffee plantation all around the home stay. After an hour of walk felt really rejuvinated and came back. There we chatted with Manoj Shanbhag and his wife. They made us very comfortable and needless to say food was the best attraction. Manoj is a very accomplished chef himself with 30 years of experience in hospitality industry. Over the next two days we really enjoyed his food. Rooms were very neat and clean with hot water running all the time; the best part was having the extra balcony which is almost like a living room. From here you can see the rains pouring down and also the fields nearby. We went to see the star shaped Manjarabad fort; it's really scenic to see from the top. Next day we visited Devi temple in Horanadu. The drive from Sakleshpur to Horanadu via Mudigere and Kottigehara was breathtaking to say the least. It took 3 hours one way. We were back from there by evening. Again late evening chat with Manoj and his family and dinner made our day great. Over all it was a great trip. We could not go to other nearby places as the shiradi ghat as well as Bisle ghat were closed. It was a blessing in disguise as we could spend time all by our selves while enjoying the food and nature around. Best part was we had no issues with connectivity with my airtel mobile and internet via hot spot. All in all great stay. Recommend to family with kids and also couples.
