Looking for a break in weekend and enjoy rains and nature, head to Sakleshpur and to Mookaranana Resort which is full of fun & "LOVE". A place to relax amidst lush green property, enjoy lashing rains as peak return monsoon time and peeping sunshine sometime to swim. ‘A monsoon retreat" we can say. Well located among the deepest of jungle area surrounded by coffee plantation and variety of flora and fauna. A resort for learning Eco-logical system wrt rivers / plantation / herbs / croaks and what not. Separate package available with training & trekking.
Well located, 40 kms uphill from main city towards Kukke Subramanya Swamy temple road. With 100 rooms, resort is one of the best available in this small town worth visiting. The construction matches the eco-friendly nature with dome shaped high ceiling roof keeping it cool. Variety of room options available including 3 Villa’s with private pool. The property is huge having spacious lobby / lounge at reception. Rooms are located little downhill and have transfer vehicles on call. The restaurant having open shaded dining space is huge with indoor / outdoor games. The infinity pool besides it gives a serene look. A rope way connects the property from one side to other and fun for making reel.
Recommended to go for valley view cottages from 51-56 very near to the restaurant as everything buzzes around this place.
CP/AP plan available and food is also good to taste with wide spread buffet. A La Carte also is available. Unfortunately, no bar or drinking allowed.
Valley view cottages are spacious with balcony and a loft having extra beds for kids to enjoy.
Pictures will give more insight and all will love to visit. Travel desk help for nearby sightseeing / trekking / off road to railway tunnels a wild experience

Place and room atmosphere is very nice.
But cost wise its too high. Some times they put per head charge sometimes room charge.
If price is less means its a good place to visit.
Regarding the food is good . But they will provide anything at the time lunch breakfast or dinner only. If you want to order early morning tea/coffee they will not provide

It was 9 families (18 adults) meeting nearly 5 years amidst of omincron scare. We were looking for a decent property at a price fitting all pockets. Most of the properties had to offer shared accmmodation (dormitory style). Finally we found a reasonable answer with MooKanana. We stayed for 3D/2N.
Here is a brief summary of our experience of our stay:
What worked well...
1. Staff with great attitude and ready to serve. Some times our dinner went as late as 11:30 pm they were just around to serve us
2. Food is good, the hotel staff are flexible to to customize to your needs. We were a bunch of vegetarians so cannot comment on non veg options.
3. Rooms were clean, neat and tidy. Check in was quick, it took barely 5mins.
4. By reading reviews were were apprehensive about lizards (other insects) in room, glad we found none.
5. The drive to the resort from Bangalore was decent enough. Not too tiring, road condition werent really bad.
What could have been better:
1. There is no phone signal in resort. If you want to stay connected with someone back home its a hassle.
2. Internet connectivity is poor. Total digital detox.
3. Great property, lacks maintenance. Its easy to find flaws.
For the price point you pay, you will not regret the decision of choosing this resort. We will love to get back again.

I visited this resort with 20 people based on online reviews which are just a hype. Trust me be it the food quality, or the facilities available, they are nothing short of sheer disappointment. Food quality will be better of a small time restaurant than this resort. We asked for a changing room (for just couple of hours) for which mgmt asks 4500/- bucks. Some of our people wanted snacks near the pool along with booze, for which resort mgmt asked 3000 bucks extra. And the snacks were being taken by our people only from the pathetic lunch buffet spread offered by resort management. Badminton rackets were broken, TT ball was broken too. They have limited staff which aggravates matter as for each and everything you request, you will have to wait for 20+ mins, be it replenishing of food in the spread or for any other request. Overall a big NO from a gathering of 20 plus people. If anyone still wants to visit the place after reading this review, you are at your peril to burn your money. Cheers!!

so as the tagline suggest " towards the forest "the resort is completely surrounded by lush green forest and is a perfect weekend gateaway. If you are a pet parent than this place is meant for you as they allow pets to stay with you subject to any damage to the property .
Our Beagle - Keeko enjoyed the stay to the maximum . We stayed in property from 18th to 19th June
The cottages are big and are specious
It has a vast open area which can be enjoyed by everyone including your pet. A perfect scenic view from reception and swimming pool will take away all your stress from city chores.
A Trekking to view point in the morning can be enjoyed by kids also
Food is good and have a really nice spread of veg/non veg and north and south cosine
We missed the evening bone fire as it was raining. Sitting beside the pool with a glass of your favorite drink and enjoying the night gives you a awesome feeling
Mr. Almeda who is the GM of the property is always available to help you
Staffs are very courteous
You can arrange for a paid sight seeing which the resort can help you with
DO not expect good phone connectivity

We are an travel business company as we had a corporate bookings and we give the booking to the hotel they disclosed the rates to the client seeking for future bookings and also reservation staff have no manners about what they are speaking especially ( Nitya) from reservation team rude talks disrespecting the booker and we told that we'll report this to higher authorities she's like you can do whatever you want they can't do anything they can't even remove me from the job...
Very disappointed with the service hate the staff. If anyone wants to visit the property please look for some other as this property has zero knowledge in how to speak and communicate.

Best things of the resort: Spacious rooms, hanging walking bridge, Kayaking, swimming pool, kids pool, good spread of buffet, weather proof and spacious children play area (can be used even during rains), property at a pleasant place, they keep umbrella every places to pick and walk and really helps during rains. Bad experiences: Intercoms wont work most of the time, rooms / bathrooms are not cleaned even after making mulitple requests, to follow up or communicate is a hastle, no phone works other than jio (its a good thing to enjoy the trip, but due to intercom failure this really affects and it takes 600m walk to reach to front office, cant walk for evert small requests. We really struggled to get the water bottles refilled).

First let me highlight the good facility,
Property is situated at right place, good amount of land scape but under utlized.
Now come area for improvement,
facilities are not provided as per the price. this is something like home-stay but priced at 4 star resort.
Rooms: rate is high but they dont provide, Washing kit,dental kit,shaving kit,hair dryier-- all i would like say is this is homestay but priced at 4 star resort
Games:
TT Table is there but they dont provide Bats and ball or they provide completely worned out.
Badminton: Badminton court is there but they dont provide Rackets and shuttle or they provide completely worned out.
Food: OK type nothing great and wow feeling
I recommend who really dont bother about the pricing.

The pictures might show you great nature scenes which is what brought us here on new year's eve. Here we saw that no one was wearing masks, food was terrible, and more importantly, all guests were pouncing on a small tray of snacks (at so-called high tea) with no masks on. This is a Covid nighmare waiting to happen. Our NYE was ruined - keep yourselves safe and avoid this place.

Property is awesome. They have a huge place with a swimming pool, indoor games room, outdoor shuttle court and kids play area. They also have a huge open restaurant where buffet is served. They also have a small lake where a nice kayaking experience could be had. Rooms are spacious enough with mezannine floor for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) with a nice balcony and view (We could not enjoy this due to continuous rains). They have rope adventurous activities but are organised only for large teams above 50. Very hospitable staff. On the flip side, food wasn't great, it tasted the same for all different meals. Although this is a resort, you can only expect home stay kind of service. Every request took time including the lunch once.
There was no internet and actually no network when we visited (and I liked that part). There are some nice place to see around and those we can cover in our transport. Trekking options were available but could not be covered due to Covid and rains.
One point to note during the Covid times, staff were least bothered about Covid precautions(no mask rules, food was served as buffet and cutlery was being touched by everyone, people were allowed to mingle free). It could be huge risk during these days.
If not for Covid, good place to visit for large families for a day or two to enjoy wholesome.
