This picturesque resort is in Sakleshpur, a beautiful hill-station in Karnataka. The resort is approx 250 km from Bangalore and approx 125kms from Madikeri. Sakleshpur is known for its natural beauty and provincial charm and Machaan Plantation Resort is in one such location that would make you appreciate all the beauty Wild Karnataka has to offer. As part of the Malnad region in Hassan, you will find hilly slopes and natural vegetation everywhere & lots of sightseeing options. Trekking in Sakleshpur is a must do and we assist all our guests with a starter trek called the : MPR View Trek it is a trail that is visible from our main restaurant and is a relatively easy trek to accomplish and we encourage all our guests to try making it. As it is a beautiful trail that takes one through canopies of trees and woods All the guest rooms at Machaan Plantation Resort are modern and spacious and can accommodate 2 adults and 2 Children comfortably in 1 room. The 16 rooms are air-conditioned and feature a flat screen TV with satellite channels. A sofa-cum-bed in every room also makes it ideal for families with children. The sit-outs are ideal to laze in & enjoy marvellous views of the hills and valley. On a rainy day one can curl up with a book and a blanket here. The Restaurant serves special local cuisine, Indian food & kiddy meals. The resort has an outdoor pool serving pool snacks. One can also just lounge here all day enjoying a day by the pool ! A holiday in Sakleshpur would not be complete without a campfire, at MPR our bonfire area is set on a slightly elevated flat surface that gives one access to a 360° view of the night sky guests can spend a memorable evening by the bonfire and as the flames fade enjoy the beauty of the pristine night sky. Later evening from the same spot we recommend night sky photographers to take some fabulous shots of the sky. With ample sightseeing and exploration possibilities at an ideal getaway from Bangalore should be of at least 3 Nights. Hotel's Favourite
We are a large group of friends and book the whole resort. We have been there multiple times. Why do we that? Upon each visit, we observed exponential improvement in hospitality, F&B and facilities. Our group visits the area every year to drive our off road vehicles, hike the western ghats, enjoy the flora and fauna of this exquisite geographical region. Machaan provides the best nodal point for an active holiday. Having said that, the swimming pool and bar with a great view provide the right setting for a relaxed holiday as well. The buffet has a wide variety of dishes including desserts. They will fix you a tasty snack at any time of the day, if you desire. Strongly recommend Machaan. We shall be back after our trip around the Sun!!!

Well appointed rooms elegantly styled, spacious, comfortable, with scenic view of the mountains with clouds settled on them, extremely hospitable staff, genuinely warm people. The property is spread across 14 acres only but horticulture is very well maintained, there are open water bodies where they have kept colourful fish who you can feed during feeding times, they have pottery lessons organised for guests, food is fresh, although menu is limited, it's very well made & delicious. Overall would definitely recommend a stay at Machaan Plantation Resort for people looking for a quiet & rejuvenating stay to relax & unwind from the regular mundane madness. A weekend trip from Bangalore with 2-3 nights stay is just perfect.

Beautiful rooms in cottages overlooking the vastness of the Western Ghats. The resort is beautiful, totally eco-friendly - with no sign of plastic or polyethene anywhere. Even the tissue and toilet rolls are of unbleached paper. The staff at the restaurant, front office, housekeeping is all so welcoming and hospitable. Special mention of Deb Kumar Dass, Front Office Manager who went the extra mile to make my wife and my stay so comfortable. Even took us for a walk on the road outside the resort to see the beautiful surroundings, paddy fields and streams, without compromising his work, as we were the only ones at the resort on our second day. Bappi at the restaurant with the others were warm and hospitable. The food too was wonderful. Will love to revisit the resort at some future day.…

An Instagram lover's paradise :-) Such a marvelous resort in idyllic settings of th mountains. Every piece of the property has been exquisitely maintained. Restaurant offers variety including local delicacies. Modest pricing of dishes clearly shows that they want food to enhance the experience than make money out of it. Deb, the guest manager, Kiran, the property manager, Bapi and rest of the crew were very warm and made our stay memorable.

This is a beautiful serene place, a bird watcher’s paradise. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean with excellent service- we were well looked after. Food was delicious with no repetition. There were specials at every breakfast, cooked to perfection on demand. Chef Manoj and trekking guide Sagar deserve special mention for the care they took to make sure that each person in the restaurant or on a trek was looked after and enjoyed the experience. Lovely resort amidst the western ghats, lots of greenery and open spaces. The property is very well laid out and the rooms are cosy and comfortable. The service is very good with delicious affordable food. The highlight for us was the morning trek organised by the resort staff- very refreshing. A must visit if you plan to stay in Sakleshpur.
