It was wonderful experience as it’s on top of the hill and well maintained homestay with good food and great hospitality. Must visit stay in Sakleshpur with pollution free chill breeze. Antique building design located in beautiful serenity.

This is almost a routine :) - writing a review for a Linger managed property. Fantastic experience! A do nothing vacation in it’s true sense. Lip smacking food, impeccable hospitality and a picturesque property. A perfect unwinding experience away from the mundane stuff of life. Was here with a few friends and ended up extending our stay because of the kind of experience. A must recommendation for a laid back holiday. Must be my ‘Nth’ visit here - Will always come back here and to just “Do Nothing” :)

This place is like a gem hidden in the Woods. The accomodation was perfect to make you feel teleported to another world altogether. The food was so fresh and organic. The staff was humble and ensured to make you feel at home. Let's not forget the view from balcony was so surreal. Watching sunrise and enjoying breakfast in the open air was the best part! For all those who want to experience a true south indian style, this is a must visit!!! Thankyou!!

Thotti mane takes you back in time and gives you a feeling of living in one's ancestral property. They have decorated the house with beautiful and thoughtful artifacts. The entire property is very well-maintained and clean. The cottage we stayed in is built around the coffee estate with bamboo and the view from the cottage is mesmerizing. There is also a small waterbody at the estate, you can walk to this spot and enjoy some time there. It's the perfect place to lose yourself for a few days. The staff and caretakers ensure that guests are treated with great hospitality, the homecooked meals and snacks were the best. I would love to visit all the Linger properties. Anyone who just needs a break needs to pack their bags and go visit this place. All the best to the entire team at Linger, thank you making my vacation wonderful.

Whenever I decide I need a break,my obvious choice is Linger... This time, I wanted my two pet beagles too to enjoy the break with me. The distinctive thing about Linger is that they really help you plan your vacation, staycation, workation, whatever you choose. So this time the ever helpful Naina, suggested Varshini estate. With her help, we also decided that a week would be the appropriate choice of number days of stay. As always, Elves Roshan called us ahead of time, and asked for our food preferences, preferences of our pets,my children... It was a nice experience talking to him. We reached Varshini estate, and wow! What a spectacular view it was! And what an enthusiastic reception it was! Harish was ready with special lemonade, and a warm kind smile. We transferred our luggage into our cottage, and immediately felt at home... We asked for more coffee and it arrived promptly after 5 minutes... With coffee in hand, we tried to take in the captivating surroundings. After some time time, we had delicious lunch, lovingly cooked by Harish and his wife, and thus our vacation began! And wow! What a delightful vacation it was! We had decided in advance that we would do " nothing"...so we just went on long walks exploring the enchanting woods( I mean to say the coffee estate with many other kinds of trees thrown in, but it seemed insufficient), drank more coffee, played with our pets, let the pets free, and let them lead us... wow... I had never seen my pets more enthusiastic! They had acres and acres of land to play in, without restrictions.. Infact, Harish fed our pets with his own hands, took care of all of us, like he would take care of his own family... Asked our food preferences time and again, and prepared delicious delic.acies all the time . Meanwhile, it was my son's birthday, do Harish arranged for ba cake and prepared special sweets and made my son's special day really special. Interestingly, the cottage we stayed in is entirely made out of bamboo... And powered by solar panels. We can see Sakleshpur town from the estate.. we are at such a height. We were a stone's throw away from Manjarabad Fort. And down the property is a nice pond. I learnt so many things on this vacation: being courteous, being friendly without being overbearing, how not to litter your temporary home, how to breathe in lungfuls of pure air( air quality there is too good), how to get used to ( and enjoy) the cold nights, to be grateful. I could go on and on... But hey, it's your turn to enjoy, go ahead, do nothing!!

This place is truly a hidden gem. We traveled as a group of 7, consisting of my parents along with some friends. We all loved the place for various reasons! Some of us were birdwatchers, and we spent mornings and evenings walking down the paths around the property, exploring the rich birdlife. Even while relaxing in the balcony of the room one is never far from nature, and we saw several lovely birds right there. My elderly parents spent time soaking in the sun and enjoying the fresh air, peace and quiet, while others spent time "doing absolutely nothing", as recommended by linger! We were all reluctant to come back to the city after this most refreshing and energising holiday. If you're worried about travel during covid times, don't be! The linger team takes safety seriously, and insist on keeping rooms empty for 24 hours before they have them over to the next guest (after proper sanitisation). They were also kind enough to let us have the place to ourselves and not take any other bookings in that time, so we had the place all to ourselves. Food was delectable and custom made to our requirements (low spice and vegan), which really made all the difference. The staff there - Harish and Yashoda - were nothing but helpful. All in all a most memorable holiday! Just a note of caution: the last 1km stretch of road to linger is pretty bad, so be careful if driving a small car.

Lovely location. Well kept property. Very Well mannered, courteous and Helpful staff. Awesome food. With our limitations of jain food And vegan food, they served us amazing food. Would love to revisit the place as we could spot so many species of birds just around the property. Highly recommended place for a weekend getaway.

Varshini estate is the second Linger property that I was visiting after a great experience at Balur Estate. This occasion was with the team from work, we had booked the entire property at Varshini Estate for 2 days for a group of 35 people. I was looking forward to it since the reviews of the place expecting to have a good time based on the reviews on Tripadvisor Varshini Estate is located around 20 minutes drive from the town of Sakleshpur. The place consists of a main bungalow and three cottages in the surroundings under the shelter of tall trees. The main bungalow is perched on the top of a hill with some nice panoramic views around the place. The final stretch of roads to the property is well beaten with largely mud roads. However, a car with a skillful driver capable of maneuvering through the path more suitable for a four wheel drive vehicle can easily get right to the doorstep. There’s more than enough parking around the place even if the place was packed. Guests are hosted in four bedrooms housed in the main bungalow and three cottages a short walk away from the bungalow. The bungalow gives a laid back feeling with traditional flooring and antique furniture. Two of the bedrooms are relatively smaller while the other two have an extra bed and can comfortably sleep three. The single bed wasn’t the most comfortable ones I’ve slept in but that was a very small issue, given the overall experience. The bungalow has a nice large veranda with ample seating overlooking the forests surrounding the place. It also has a first floor which guests can use for a better view of the surroundings or just to sit around. There’s ample seating all over the place through chairs of different forms and shapes! They also have a little bookshelf filled with books as you climb the stairs to the first level. There’s nothing much to do around the place, making it a perfect location to exercise what Linger stands for – do nothing. You could go for a walk around the property to enjoy the greenery and sounds of the calling birds, read a book or just fall asleep in the cool breeze that blows on your face. The place is run by a caretaker with a couple of cooks who we found to be very friendly and accommodative to our requests for the choice of food. One thing that has stood out in both the Linger properties that I have been to is the food. It mostly consists of local delicacies cooked fresh and served hot. Needless to say, it tastes great with you having to complete a meal by licking your fingers 😊 The caretaker is always standing by asking if more food is required (particularly because we were a large group) and was more than happy to oblige when we needed more. There was also a good variety of choice during the stay with very few of the dishes being repeated the different meals. Evening coffee was followed up by a walk around the property’s coffee plantation guided by the caretaker (apologies, my mind fails to recollect his name). the walk runs along the coffee plantation, a reasonably large lake and then through a canopy of large trees to get you to the main gate. You could then walk up to the main road where you’re likely to meet some locals. If you’re the chatty type, a conversation with a local can be refreshing! This place is also a bird watcher’s delight with a number of birds to spot. You could sit on the benches outside the bungalow to catch a view of the setting sun followed by the wide range of colors the sky has to offer. It is then followed up by calls of birds settling down for the day in the trees overhead. Once darkness sets in, it’s only the sound of insects and the glow of lights from the home. You’ll also realize that you’re in a perfect spot to star gaze. There’s ample place to spend the evening chatting with friends over drinks even if the place is fully occupied. There’s enough space in the verandah on the ground level and the first level. The verandah could comfortably accommodate our group of 35 members. Snacks in the evening with coffee and short eats for drinks later was included in the package (!!!). They have stocked up on basic sporting goods to enable guests play if they wish to – cricket bat with stumps and a football was easily available. There’s also enough space for two groups to play a game of cricket and football around the place. Some tips you could use if you consider visiting here * The property is located off the main road, hence it’s best to have your own vehicle * If you are the fussy type and need to have specific things, carry your own stuff, as there are no shops close by * Carry some insect repellent if you wish to hang around outdoors after darkness sets in. * The dining area (if you choose non-veg cuisine) is outdoors and this will come in handy

Perfect vacation it was. Away from the buzz, surrounded by trees in an estate, beautiful farm house, yummy local food, personalized service, well stocked library, several walking trails, etc. What else do you need to simply relax? Can't get better.
