We chose Okoroire Hot Springs through nostalgia, having visited there almost 50 years ago. We were somewhat put off by some (older) traveler reviews, but decided anyway to turn up and, if there were vacancies, to have an inspection of what was on offer. Okay, it is a country hotel, not the Hilton in a major city! However the room...

Great location and historic building. Hot pools are lovely. Staff are very friendly & helpful. We missed out on dinner because we had eaten but stood in the bar we saw some good looking plates pass us

Looking for a place to stay somewhere near the Hobbiton Movie Set, this property caught our eyes because of the on-site (free) natural mineral hot springs (we had done the Tongariro crossing the day before), the quaint countryside location, and a great offer/deal on one of Tripadvisor's partner sites. Travel time to the Shire's Rest (starting point for Hobbiton tour)...

We spent a leisurely afternoon at the hotel/hot springs. A bite of lunch first and then we headed down for a soak in the hot pools. The only reason we have scored 4 rather than 5 was we both felt our meals we a touch off paa for the cost, will we go back, hell yes. The pools are some...

Took a ride out 15th Feb 2016 with Ulysses club. About ten of us. Paid for food and some in the party never got there food as the wheels fell off in the Kitchen or who knows where. I refund was given to those who did not get their order. I used to eat here once a month but have...

We are overseas students who booked here for Hobbiton tours, Rotorua and other tourist attractions but there is no way of getting there if you don't have your own vehicle. The reason we chose to come here was because Hobbiton is advertised as an activity on their website. This is misleading and unfair on foreigners who aren't aware of the...

Checked in on 24 December. Required to sign liability waiver for loss of property in room. This was a detailed waiver specifying when the hotel would cooperate with Police. The room was at ground level, with two large windows that did not lock and which were easily accessible from outside. No secure storage of valuables in the room or at...

A wonderful place. Period furniture, well decorated and a lovely atmosphere. Friendly helpful staff serve really nice food. Especially the fish and chips dinner - it was fantastic. The hot springs are very secluded next to the river with a waterfall in the forest. Fantastic setting. A rare thing - Basic concrete pools, but excellent in being the complete opposite...

Clean room, comfortable bed, good reasonably priced food, and breakfast included. This historic building has updated facilities without losing the character of the rooms. Bathroom was a little compact and the plug in the sink was too small to prevent water draining away but overall a very enjoyable stay with the benefit of virtually private hot pools hidden away in...

Must have been awesome in its day. Location location location.... 9 hole golf course for $10 for unlimited holes. 3 hot springs totally secluded and private. Accommodation dated and average. Comfy beds and cannot beat the beauty of the surrounds. Beautiful birds chirping and lovely scenery with huge trees. Lovely open deck area for sundowners and relaxing. Service I found...
