This was Tuscany as I'd always imagined it would be. The hotel was quaint with rustic charm - don't be expecting a city centre ultra modern hotel - it is converted old buildings on a winery. That said I loved it. The setting is simply awesome - surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. Really well placed to explore Chianti and... More

Delightful house and grounds on a hilltop. Great welcome , clean and modest rooms. This is an old building, renovated but not modern. Comfortable with furniture in keeping with the age of they idling. Lovely grounds and a large quiet pool. A real getaway. Sat nav is not great in this area!

We absolutely fell in love with this place, it is full of rustic charm and the surroundings are beautiful. The restaurant is run by two chaps and we had several fantastic meals here. The breakfast was of high quality with freshly made croissants and cakes. If you want to escape city life this is the place for you. I loved... More

We booked a last minute deal not allowing us the chance to review the hotel before arriving. First mistake! The welcome was rather poor, waiting for someone to show up to reception to check us in. The rooms need updating and our room stunk of damp the whole time! The pool is clean however it is freezing so be prepared... More

The hotel is located in a wonderful middle age hamlet, including also a renaissance villa. Wonderful place, well maintained. But management should improve on several issues: one is the quality of beds, which is below a critical level (also not available king size beds). Another is the fact that most of the property (and almos all rooms) are not covered... More

We travelled through Toscany and stayed here for one night. The location is fantastic and the staff is very kind. It's quiet and has a terrific view over vineyards around. Our room had no air con but the massive walls of the old castle keep the temperature very comfortable. The pool is small but very nice. Breakfast and dinner where... More

I stayed here as part of a cycling tour. The place itself is a small, old village inside a wall on the top of a hill - the climb up here on a bike is a tough one! But the scenery up on the hill is amazing, and the place is beautiful. We went on the wine tasting (free for... More

This is a great Tuscan experience. Great old fashioned place with great views. We really enjoyed the restaurant and wine as well. we used it for our cycling trips and the clients loved the peaceful atmosphere. The rooms were very coze and the staff were excellent. Long steep climb at the end of the day!

It has almost been six months since our wedding at Castelvecchi and I still haven't found the words to describe how amazing it was. The location is incredible in the middle of the Tuscan hills but the staff is what makes this place truly wonderful. Barbara made us feel so welcome and never gave us the feeling we were asking...
