The entire stay was outstanding. The food was delicious and the host and the entire team of Banyan by The Ganges have been simply brilliant in their hospitality. Kudos to the entire team!! The surroundings and the ambiance of the entire resort is just breathtaking. Would always recommend to visit. Cheers!!
Good resort with beautiful views of the ganges and white sand beach around. The staff is helpful and really sweet. Good for small staycations. The food is also good.= espceially the deserts they make .
This is such a beautiful, warm and inviting getaway nestled in the foothills of the Garhwal mountain ranges, right next to Ganges. The actual accommodation is in a camp styles cottages (Glamping), not permanent structures cause NGT, Government of India prohibits permanent structures within 200 meters of the river.. what I mean to say is that you will be so close to the barren beauty of the Ganges that you are not allowed to stay in a permanent structures. The cottages: these are very nicely done, a very nice queen size bed, comfortable enough for 2 adults (and also may be upto a 5 year old for co sleeping) to snuggle in. Each cottage has an air conditioner, running hot water (via individual geysers in each cottage), room heaters (for colder months), very comfortable mattress, and the traditional indian 100% cotton quilts (razaee). The bathroom is spacious too, given the hot water is powered through the individual geysers in the cottages, please make sure to turn it on well ahead of the time (about 30 - 40 minutes) when you plan to take a shower. The food: All the meals are included in the nightly price, which includes a nice spread for all three meals - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and occasional 'chais' in between. During my three night stay, I got to taste traditional garhwali dishes such as local 'daals', native chutneys, fruits as well as enjoy more streamlined indian dishes such as kadai paneer, egg curry, palak paneer, etc. The food is as good as home cooked and is served with fresh tawa chapathis. You can also order a la carte snacks throughout the day (think mix veg pakoras, chili chicken, paneer tikka, etc.) at a very nominal price point. The activities: I, personally went to Banyan By the Ganges for some personal, 'me' time - which was the best decision, so would not have minded if there were no activities to partake in, however to my surprise, there is a tonn of things one can undertake and the resort staff is always there to not only suggest things to do, but they make sure that they always provide you their company (highly recommended but not mandatory). I enjoyed about 5 kilometer hike on Day 1 early morning that took me up to Chaitur village (gain in elevation of about 400 meters). This hike was spectacular which can not be articulated in words, you have got to see it to believe it (and I have done several hikes, not only in India but also in a very picturesque Canadian rockies). Went for a 10 kilometer trail the next day around the camps which was spectacular in its own sense (with out the elevation). Swam in the Ganges (just for a little bit cause the water was very very cold), one can also enjoy rafting that is run directly by the resort management (not outsourced), they have several certified river guides / rafting instructors. You can spend an afternoon kayaking around the Ganges, engage in rock climbing, etc. The staff can also arrange local trips to places of significance depending on your likes (for e.g. to Devprayag Sangam for the Aarti, temples around the area, etc.) In short, there is no dearth of activities to engage in (regardless of your taste). And then the best part is in the evening, by the bonfire, where all the guests come together and share what they did throughout the day over a glass (or several) of wine / scotch / rum (what your choice of drink is). Keep in mind that the nearest wine shop is about a 30 minute drive one way all the way to Devprayag, so make sure you are carrying some with you if you plan on consuming. Finally, The People: This is the cherry on top of the cake, all of the staff is so inviting and warm including the owner (Mani Da) that I made good friends with all of them through my stay of 3 nights. Everyone goes over and beyond to ensure you have a great stay, right from the time you check in to the time you check out. Major thanks and Kudos to the staff, Harish Da, Naresh Da, Alam Singh and several others whose names I am forgetting (I am terrible at remembering names) I would love to come back to this place whenever I plan to take a trip to the Garhwal region!!! Keep up the good work Banyan By The Ganges, you are creating something special.…
Luxury camping experience with loads of adventure activities. The scenic beauty around this place is simply incredible.. we stayed in the mountain cottage for 3 days & trust me we could hardly explore few things .. you at least need 1 week stay to explore all activities around.. the service is excellent & food is quite customisable .. best time was meeting everyone during evening bonfire & share all experiences of the day .. I have done river rafting at few places but the scenic views that I saw here was totally mesmerising .. amidst nature coming up with this kind of property & experience can only be thought by someone highly professional , creative & passionate person .. Mr Mani thanks for letting us experience such a beauty..
The main usp of this place is that it's away from the hustle bustle of Rishikesh and located in Devprayag. If you love Rishikesh then this place will blow your mind Pros: 1. Spacious luxury cottages with clean bathrooms 2. Lunch and dinner buffet has a good variety 3. Food is tasty and home style 4. This place offers lot of activities including rafting, kayaking, trekking etc 5. Game area is decent with multiple games playing option Cons: 1. Only Jio sim works here 2. No wifi and tv in rooms (you will definitely not miss any of those)
