"What an amazing visit to our ‘Home Away From Home’ and we just can’t get enough of ‘Banayan by the Ganges'.
The heavenly surroundings of mountains with a beautiful Banayan tree..Located on the banks of the river Ganga near Devprayag in Uttarakhand, this place is a unique destination that promises incredible experiences for Nature lovers..
When you need rejuvenating and relaxing holiday and feel water, land and air - all three forms of nature.. this the right place to be in.
Each of the cottages have a spacious balcony and a large attached private bathroom with running hot and cold water, with comfortable beds. All cottages have views of the river or mountain.
We enjoyed the Rafting, fishing and hiking. I specially took my mountain bike for cycling near the cottage and discovered many good routes with amazing valley views..
The food was soo delicious..vegetarian and non-vegetarian such as momos, mutton dishes, fish, Biryani..it was finger licking with great hospitality by the staff..
Anil and his team which includes Dipu and many others.. make the place tick and ensure every need is well taken care of. It's hospitality straight from the heart...
Highly recommended."

Well to start with, this was a trip which was sudden, totally unplanned and all I knew was that this was my very first women only trip which i had waited for so long but didnt expect to happen like this. I was so glad that I booked this property located in Devprayag at the confluence of Alakanda and Bhagirathi river. The moment you step in there you are into a zone of digital detox, surrounded only by the sound of Ganges flowing just in front of your balcony, woken up by the sweet melodies of the bird in the morning, refreshed with the breathtaking sunset. They dont have WIFI and television and makes you cut off from the rest of the world (you may use Resort phone number for essential calls if any) . We stayed there for 3 days and made full utilisation of the well stocked library which has books for all age groups. The morning Yoga session by the Yoga instructor made me aware of how powerful my own breathing is for my emotional and physical well being. The sunset times were the best times in the stay where sometimes I didn't even feel like clicking pictures and just enjoyed the view thinking what a beautiful day it was. The owners Tito and Uttara are such warm and down to earth people and you can feel their personal touch in every nook and corner of the resort starting from the funny quotes and handpainted wall arts by Uttara, the well stocked library suitable for all ages and the delicious homely food which doesnt make you miss Ghar ka Khana at all. Cant wait to go back soon

I reached this riverside resort of serene tranquillity , at 1730 on 9th March , 2020 . After a double quick check in at the reception , I was led to The Riverstone Diner , the multi cuisine Restaurant to enjoy my Ginger tea while watching the Ganga flow by through a very large open window .
After enjoying the magnificent views of Ganga and Resort while sipping my Ginger tea , I moved to my luxury Swiss cottage with a spacious balcony having a personal outdoor sit out . I was impressed by my bed and the comforts on it . Reclining on the sit out I could see and hear the burbling Ganga and the 250 years old Banyan tree after which the resort is known .
Later on here , I had my delicious dinner and balanced breakfast next morning . To be frank , I never like mutton , but the Pahari Mutton cooked was so aromatic , juicy , luscious , soft and tender , that I could not help myself to have another helping .
Next day morning while checking out I was blessed by the sight of a pair of Great Barbet feasting on papaya on a papaya tree .
Manager told me there were many birds visiting the garden of the resort . I decided to do birding when I would stay here on my return visit on 21st March .
Unfortunately when I was returning from Blue Poppy Resort , Auli on 21st , I received a call from the manager telling me the Resort is closed due to Covid Pandemic and I should try elsewhere as all the hotels and resorts in Uttarakhand are closed .
After returning home , I communicated with sales@banyanbytheganges.com on 1st April , regarding refund of my paid up full amount for 21st and 22nd march .
I received the immediate reply stating that i could use the credit note of my advance amount within next 12 months . If I cannot , I can transfer the credit note to anyone .
On 2nd April I requested the management to refund my full amount as due to my old age I could not see to take such a journey again .
To which I received immediate refund of my full advanced amount .
I am very much thankful to the management of Banyan by the Ganges Resort for refunding my full amount within 3 days of my contacting them .
This builds up the confidence and trust of the guests in the Resort . My age permits , I will definitely return to the Resort again and again .

BBTG is a place mostly for rejuvenating yourself amidst nature No network No wifi No tv. Food in lunch and dinner were good and very tasty however need to improve on bfast options very limited it was. View from riverfront rooms is just awesome with sound of flowing river that is the usp of the property. Though except a badminton court no other outdoor activity was there. A table tennis table, a carrom board with a bunch of other indoor activities would keep you engaged if it's raining or sultry outside. Last but not the least smiling naresh harish and Mr ghosh along with the entire staff are very helpful and never say no to anything. A great 👏team I must say. Rooms or Tents are a little small especially if you wish to accommodate people more than two. I am not dissatisfied with my experience but yes would have been elated if the above would have been there. I am an avid traveler like to explore new offbeat locations so as a one time visit it was definitely very good.

Full marks to Tito and his team at Banyan by the ganges.Excellent food , impeccable service , friendly staff, awesome location and best of all limited mobile connectivity !One activity that I would highly reccommend is the through the forest to the local village. We came back with a bagful of the local produce ..garlic , coriander ,wild curry leaves..all of which smelled heavenly. Anil the resident naturalist is extremely friendly and has many interesting insights to share. The beach on the opposite shore is right out of a childhood Enid blyton novel .The food is fantastic..pro tip..request for the banana cake and custard !The one improvement on that front would be to include some local dishes on the menu.Do remember to carry your own alcohol !Bonfire is organized on request. As for the rafting experience , the rapids are of a moderate Level 1- Level 2 standard .All in all it's a great getaway for 2-3 days..suitable for families , group of friends or couples..just about anyone !

Rishikesh has many camps, but quality is poor. This one is 3 hours away but is of supreme quality. The place is tastefully done up. The location is breathtaking, food is brilliant and staff is very warm and attentive.
We were a group 6 adults and 6 kids and stayed for two nights. While the place has lot of activities, one could just sit in winter sunshine and read a book all day. Our kids played sports, walked upto the Ganges and did a trek to the nearby village.
It’s a place to rewind, relax and detox. All of us were sad while leaving the place. Looking forward to comeback

Just back from a rejuvenating visit to this wonderful property hidden amongst the montains right in front of Ganges .
Location- it's an oasis in no mans land . A long 8hr trip from Delhi but worth it . You can see the clean Ganges roaring just in front of you.
Staff: excellent friendly staff, the village 0eoplw are employed and they make one feel at home.
Food: 5 stars to the chef for serving us wonderful food .if you are expecting a fancy meal then no it's home-cooked taste is yummilicious.the pahari mutton was amazing.
Rafting experience: unlike shivpuri where there are a plethora of commercial rafting companies with mix of inexperienced rafting instructor here we went rafting with 2 very experienced rafters .harish a pleasant man with 30 yes experience made us feel so confident ( I had jitters post past rafting experience) .Mani had been rafting for years too and was a nice company .
Rooms: There are basically tents with basic amenities, don't expect anything fancy . there's a dit out from where you can get s view of Ganges flowing .they don't have tea coffee kettle which I did bring up to the management.
Overall a very pleasant stay and a much suggested place for thr one's who want to just run away from the madness.( There's no wifi , or mobile network)

+1
Our stay was amazing.. From Rishikesh to Vyaskhat the views were mind blowing, roads were bit scary but was worth going. The place is so peaceful , the banyan tree is the most catchy, flowing river, the sound, birds . The staff is really very helpful Mr Naresh, at the reception Mr Haresh with super rafting experience , we’re so glad to meet him. Mr Ankit who was with ya for the beautiful natural water fall. Nature walk, the floating experience and the specially the swinging experience with the banyan. Thank you so much everyone for making our memories so beautiful and a big thanks for making cake for my sons birthday and making it more special 😍

This beautiful place.... is a full package of serenity and adventure and if you're looking for both then, This is the place to go! Its far away from the hustle and bustle of the city and it provides a picturesque view of the Ganges. The clear sky and the sound of the river Ganga adds so much tranquility to the place.
The people are friendly and helpful and they have a cute GSD, Kiwi, my little one loved playing with her.
Will definitely see you again "Banyan By The Ganges"

Hello,
It's absolutely safe to travel to Banyan by the Ganges now.
Warm Regards
Not at the reception..but there is a place nearby in the village you can walk to for any urgent calls..the hotel staff will guide you.
There is no room service but they go to any extent to customise food preferences. You just need to inform them in advance.
Hi Shruti, Banyan is a pet friendly resort. Pets are allowed in the cottages but you must get along the pet's bed etc. There are no restrictions on the number of pets but more than 2 may seem like a crowd in the cottage. Food for pets would be provided at a charge. Hope I have been able to answer your questions.... Regards
