I visited Hima Divine in February, 2021, along with friends and family. A long overdue review.
The resort is beautiful, the rooms are very well done, sensitive design and carefully put together - spacious and airy. That these are well maintained only adds to the experience. The stay was lovely, peaceful to say the least. One can see the Hima Divine as a project that has been in the making for a while!
The host is warm and caring and was personally involved in chalking out itineraries and engagements. We also hired the vehicle from the hotel. It was spik and span, sanitised and well equipped with water, sanitisers etc.
Food - largely breakfast was good, the highlight was the fresh juice that was served everyday. While we did not avail lunch, dinner preparations could have been better.
Finally, I cannot finish this review without a mention of the humongous variety of pickles and chutneys that the host makes and serves to his guests. We enjoyed these thoroughly!
Overall the stay was lovely and I would recommend the place to all.

The ambience of the hotel is absolutely divine . The photographes which are seen all over the place have captured certain things which are beyond imagination.
Cosy interiors on a rainy day and comfortable lounge .

We stayed in there executive suite for a family of 5 . The rooms were very spacious with a very good fresh plants all around . They were very neat and clean . Air conditioner was working good and room heater was also available

Bathroom was very clean with hot water available all the time with clean linen and towels.

Staff was very courteous.

Dining area was very uniquely designed with local cuisine and international cuisine. We had biryani and mutton curry which were finger licking good .

There are some nice places and then there are the extraordinary, the ones that have been created with the heart and soul and The Divine Hima is one of those. It is not a hotel, it is a haven for the traveller to rest and replenish within a tranquil setting full of loving kindness. Sanjay, the owner and his staff treat you like a long lost relative coming back after a certain absence. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Your comfort is their priority and it is done with warmth, happiness and real genuine care. The rooms are very comfy, beds are like sleeping on feathers, showers really hot. I particularly like the fact that solar panels have been installed for electric usage and that the environment is a concern the hotel has thought about. The restaurant has food to die for. In fact, were I to die, I may request one of their meals as my last one. Again, here nothing is too much trouble. I have allergies and the owner even lent me a cookery book and say pick your dish and we will make it. But, what makes the place so enticing, so very special is the way it has been designed and decorated. The artistic flair and delicate sensitivity of Sanjay are plastered all over the walls. His art work is stunning. The place is adorned with his photos always accompanied by a reflective poem and the hotel is decorated throughout with interesting eclectic objects. It is a feasting of the senses at every footstep. A truly divine stay.

This is my second stay at the Divine Hima. I stayed there from the 21st of October 2019 until the 24th and currently staying from the 3rd of January until the 11th. I am occupying the Pin-Parbati Pass and it is absolutely great.

It's the Best Hotel sorry Home in Dharamshala I would like to recommend to each one visiting here. The Staff and the Owner Mr.Sanjay is very sweet and cooperative with you. He has designed this motel very uniquely with his own patent ideas. It feels like you are wandering in a Museum rather than a Motel. He and his staff makes us so homely that we don't even think about our original home.We also celebrated and participated in Mr.Sanjay's Diwali Pooja that too was a great experience. They are having plenty of options for breakfast and dinner and the best part is that, they give you fresh cooked food and ready to made one. Now about the location of the hotel, This hotel terrace will give you one of the best view of Dhauladhar Mountains covered with Snow. So from all three perspectives i.e Location/Ambience/Staff you can book this hotel blindly. Our stay here was one of the moments to cherish for lifetime.

The Property is located in lap of mother nature, just in shadows of Dhauladhar ranges. Owner of the property Mr Sanjay is an amazing host and leads a very professional and hospitable team.
I received a call from the manager a day before my scheduled arrival asking details of my arrival and gave me proper navigational guidance, this speaks volumes about the professionalism.
Property has a great décor and every article and photograph placed narrates its own story.
Standards of hygiene are better than a 5 Star hotel, rooms are very spacious and well arranged, quality of toiletries is pretty high.
Word about the food, chefs at the property are amazing, as the owner also takes keen interest in supervising the chefs. Biggest collection of pickles I have ever seen, do try some pickles.
Bonfire can also be arranged on special request.
COVID protocols are being followed and staff is fully vaccinated that negated safety concerns in this pandemic.

We visited Dharamshala in Oct 22 and booked the divine hima for our stay. Stone throw away from the Norbulinka institute, the place is cozy with the required amenities.

Rooms were spacious with a small attached balcony. Bathrooms also had running hot water throughout the day and were equipped with good toiletries.

While we just saw the terrace on the day we were leaving, it takes away the price for the beautiful view of the snow clad mountains.

Breakfast was not a buffet but more like set meal options but was very tasty nonetheless. You might want to set your expectations accordingly. Cuisines offered included, Italian, french, continental, tibetian, north indian, south Indian and special Himachali food. The place had a reading room with a fireplace which was lovely!

The owner Sanjay and his wife are very welcoming. Would definitely visit again and would recommend to others too.

I landed up to this property on 29th May , it was our much awaited family trip away from the heat of Delhi NCR . Initially I did carry certain inhibitions as it was going to be my first stay in a boutique hotel but the moment I stepped into my first impression was as if I am Alice in wonderland. I was awestruck by the beautiful interior displaying, small rustic artefacts simple yet fascinating reigning the entire reception area. But my heart got struck with Mr Sanjay’s photographic collection of unspoiled nature captured passionately with beautiful captions throwing insights into his being a acclaimed geologist with deep knowledge of human values.
The food is sumptuous, all the different cuisines prepared deliciously with great patience and the personal touch of the owner himself too . Not to miss the multiple pickles and chutney one haven’t heard of. I loved sipping my morning tea on roof terrace admiring Dhauladhar range listening to chirping sounds of birds and my yoga and meditation too. Rooms are comfortable and spacious . The entire Staff is very courteous , ready to meet any request even at 11 night with a smile . Overall an unforgettable experience with cheerful nostalgic memories to treasure and cherish. . Had a heartwarming long talks with pooja (owners wife) and the kids ,it felt like a personal touch during our entire stay. I could feel the compelling Aura of Mr Sanjay kumbkarni in managing the entire property with zest and efficiency.

We well travelled couples had the most divine stay true to its name. The property, a spacious cottage hotel managed by Sanjay, his wife, his mom and a team of well trained housekeeping and restaurant staff made our stay so comfortable. This was in midst of COVID mind you and the property was booked to capacity. We are extremely particular about hygiene and cleanliness, but there was nothing to complain about. The sheets, the quality of mattress, the pillows were as good or even better than some of the best star hotels. The bathrooms were clean and modern. Nothing amiss. Anything for Housekeeping or Room Service, its there in minutes. The Divine Hima dining room and living room is a place you can dine, wine, relax and have fun as if its home. Talking of dining - never seen such an elaborate Menu, it’s dishes are out of ordinary. The highlights were 1. the stuffed Trout and 2. their special Beer marinated Chicken Roast. You cannot miss either. We can just do another vacation for just these. For a family hotel THE DIVINE HIMA can easily rank in India’s top five.

Choosing a proper hotel is the most important part of any journey and I struck gold in The Divine Hima. My search took me through several hotels in Mcleodganj- but I found most in the town were modest affairs and the couple of 5 Star hotels a bit away had mixed reviews. By serendipity I stumbled upon ‘The Divine Hima’ when I chanced upon a list of Homestays.
It sounded the perfect choice for us, a senior couple venturing out after the long lockdown. Divine Hima is a small boutique hotel- a log cabin with the trappings of a family run place. But at the same time with 5 Star amenities. The owner, Sanjay Kumbkarni is a multi faceted personality- an artist, a chef and a great raconteur. His artistic touches are visible all over the hotel. The lobby is attractively designed with objects de art arranged strategically. Each room has a separate design with its own unique décor and named after nearby mountain passes.
We had booked the ‘Indrahaar Pass’ which has a large balcony looking out into the snow capped Dhauladars. Infact, if you keep the window curtains open, you can wake up to the sight of these towering peaks glinting in the morning sun.
The quality of service from the time of arrival is top class. Rooms are well provided with all toiletries and the housekeeping staff is highly efficient. Sanjay and wife provide a personal touch – they are at the Lobby every evening and make it a point to ask how your day went and what services they could offer.
The restaurant has a wide ranging menu and all items are available at short notice. The restaurant staff is excellent and are willing to customise dishes to your taste. There’s a warm and cosy dining room, a semi covered café and an inner ‘Den cum Library’ equipped with comfortable sofas, a fire place, a collection of art works of Sanjay and an attic with a collection of books.
All in all we had a highly enjoyable stay for 5 days.
Also a special mention of appreciation for the Manager, Maneesh who was ever helpful.

You walk through a narrow lane to be welcomed by a very warm entrance to the Hotel. Open the doors n u open a pandora of Divinity.

The owner, Mr Sanjay, a multi talented personality, welcomes you with warm greetings and guides you at every step.

The lobby, fire place and library area is decked up with the artefacts of Mr Sanjay who has diligently kept the property neet n clean.

The food offered is different n amazingly sumptuous. It too has a personal touch of Mr Sanjay.

Finally, the rooms.... thought I did not stay there but found the rooms to be very comfortable, wherein all minor needs are taken care off. Will definitely plan to stay next time.

Thx a Ton Mr Sanjay for a very warm n hospitable evening.
