Arriving at night was magical. The grounds were lit up and it was spectacular - although we couldn't see much in the distance. There was a candle lighting and bell ringing ceremony to welcome the guests. After a cool cloth for your face and hands and a refreshing welcome drink, we were taken to our rooms by golf cart. Our...

Booked Ulagalla based on the pictures on its website. If anything the reality exceeded expectations. The resort is spread out (and I do mean spread out) in a gorgeous rural landscape and the experience of biking thru rice paddies from our room to the main pool and restaurant was unique and memorable. The rooms are very private, huge and very...

Staying at Ulagalla is like living in a luxurious tree house. All you see out the windows are trees, plants, birds, squirrels and the occasional passing tribe of monkeys. The plunge pools are roomy and deep enough for a good cool off, while the main pool is spacious. Buggy service between chalets and restaurant/bar is good, as distance can be...

Such a lovely resort hidden behind the big impressive wooden gates. The resort is set on huge acreage with the rooms (more like small apartments) far from the main reception/dining area however it's just a short walk, ride your complimentary bike or get the golf buggy. It's very tranquil here and as we had a driver we went to Sigiriya...

My daughter and I recently stayed at this beautiful property for 4 nights and it was a very memorable experience. The accommodation consisted of 20 very spacious chalets set up high amongst beautiful tropical greenery. Our chalet which had a separate sitting and dining room, entrance hall, bedroom and bathroom was beautifully furnished. Outside there was decking with sun lounges...

An upmarket, luxury retreat. Wonderful location. Attentive, friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable accommodation - chalets are spacious, beautifully designed and well equipped. Bicycles provided with each chalet allow easy access around the grounds. Fantastic pool; clean, warm and long enough to swim laps. Delightful spa. We had a very relaxing three nights here and highly recommend it.

Amazing resort. Private. Impeccable service. Unique. Loved the bicycles provided to get from the villas to the resort (or buggy on request). Lovely organic garden and delicious meals. All of course at luxury prices but well worth it! We would have liked to stay longer than 2 days - we recommend at least 3-4 nights to really settle in and...

We had the absolute best time here and wish we stayed longer. We were greeted by the Manager and as we were on our honeymoon they had given us the best villa with a treehouse observation deck (number 7 I think) The place is very well kept, great pool, monkeys, horses, mongoose, monitor lizards are just some of the wild...

What a truly wonderful experience . I was surprised to see the GM come out to welcome the guests at the entrance. The service was amazing and very personalised even the garden care takers had the courtesy of greeting with Ayubowan (may you have a longer life) at every given opportunity. We will visit again to enjoy the experience again.
