We absolutely loved this resort! The staff goes above and beyond, and Akil was especially wonderful. Jerimiah, Dijaughn, Grace, Chevron, and Susan were all incredibly accommodating. From the moment we were greeted with rum punch to being escorted to our beachfront room, we were amazed by its beauty. Being right on the beach felt like heaven, and we loved having our own little house where we didn't hear the maids or other guests all morning.
However, I would like to suggest a few improvements. First, the rooms need blackout curtains, as it gets too light in the morning for those of us who need more sleep. Additionally, there are no hooks to hang our swimsuits and towels, so we had to get creative. The trash cans are quite small; if the resort wants to be environmentally friendly, they should provide a recycling bin that can hold more than just one beer bottle. Lastly, while the French press is fine, a reusable Keurig would be much more convenient than using the press and then dealing with dumping the grounds in the toilet. A hanging rack on the balcony would also be a great addition.
Now, let’s talk about the food. Overall, it was good, and the sushi was the best I've had in a long time. However, the breakfasts were just okay—low on options, with weird yogurt and quinoa that didn't really fill us up. Be prepared to wait for food; the sandwiches at the coffee shop take forever to prepare, and the staff there often seems annoyed when taking orders. It would be much easier if they offered room service for breakfast, but good luck getting the phone in the room to work.
A suggestion for breakfast would be to head to C and D to pick up groceries and water, or visit Rite Aid.
The pool was beautiful, but quite quiet and far from the beach. There was no front desk—just a hut, which felt a bit strange. Additionally, there was nothing happening past 11 PM. If you're looking for more action, Garden Bay might be the place to stay.
Overall, despite some suggestions for improvement, this resort is pure heaven on the beach. The rooms are amazing, and it's truly a beautiful resort!

Just had 4 terrific days at LBBR. The setting is breath-taking. First-rate amenities - the spa and gym are lovely. We had an ocean view room, amazing beach-facing shower! All of the public spaces to hang out and have a drink or eat were terrific. We ate at the restaurant every night (we were early in season so limited options elsewhere) and had very good meals. Wine selection is terrific. All staff extremely helpful and friendly. Our best afternoon was spent nearby (free transportation from resort) at Smuggler's Cove, secluded with two fantastic beach bars. Only drawback is the need for a car. Resort will arrange taxis, but they tend to be expensive.

I stayed for two nights prior to joining friends for a week long sailing trip around BVI. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left, the staff at the Long Bay Beach Resort went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable and that my needs were met. Lalit ensured several days up to my arrival and throughout my stay that I had everything I needed, including a taxi pick up at the airport.
Upon my arrival, I was welcomed by Ana and Akil, both of which were very kind and welcoming. I was immediately offered a rum punch and water as well as a complimentary 5 min massage prior to being escorted to my suite.
My suite was exquisite! I highly recommend the “ocean view suite”. The building is right on the sand so every morning I woke up to a gorgeous ocean view! Because I was there in the off-season there were very few other people at the resort other than the staff. It felt like my own private island.
The designer of this resort deserves an award, as every single detail - from the way the toilet paper is hung, to the shower design, to the landscape around the resort - is well thought out, gorgeous, and environmentally friendly to boot!
My suite and the grounds were pristine! It is the tropics so there will be flying insects, geckos, frogs and birds, which I love, but others might not. However, inside my suite I never had to worry about pests (roaches, beetles, mosquitoes, flies, rats, mice, etc.). There are no screens so if you keep the doors open, you may have a different experience. There were a few teeny ants throughout the room, but nothing else. I do recommend bug spray while you’re at the restaurant, that is the only time I got bitten and I was attacked at each meal, but they do tend to love me more than most people. The staff are incredible at the restaurant and continuously provide spray, they even sprayed my legs for me! I also want to thank Rosie and Alcia, for going above and beyond each time I ate at the restaurant. They truly made my dining experience enjoyable!
On my last full day there I splurged on the 3 hour Retreat Package at the spa, which was only 2.5 hrs, but such a wonderful and relaxing experience I didn’t complain. Odilia, the spa hostess, was lovely!
The beaches are clean, the grounds are gorgeous, and the people are lovely. Long Bay Beach resort is certainly a five star in my book; if I could give it six stars I would! I not only got exactly whet I paid for but I felt like a royal princess my entire stay! Thank you everyone!

Long Bay Beach Resort, is one of the most luxurious experiences I’ve ever had. Our room was EXACTLY 22 steps from the clear blue waters ( I counted). We often kept the doors to our room open to hear the waves crashing throughout the day or overnight. Even in July, the AC was able to keep the room cool enough for this.
The room decor is GOALS and the property was so meticulously decorated that you could tell how vital the aesthetic was to crafting your experience at Long bay. Quite often my wife would look to me and say, “this is unreal. Is this place actually real?” SUCCESS.
The food and menus were definitely something that the hotel put a lot of pride into and it shows. From freshly caught Anegada lobster tail to their signature Thai chicken Curry dish, the food was a highlight. The bar looks out over the water and the drink menu is quite refined.
Also the hotel offers a dedicated crew of drivers for hassle free transport around the island. No need to worry about getting taxis!
In conclusion, if you value a property that is equally as gorgeous as the breathtaking beachfront experience then I don’t think you will find anything better than Long Bay Beach Resort in all of the BVI’s.

There are many good things about this resort: the beach is long and lovely, and the rooms are beautifully designed and well appointed. But if they hope to elevate themselves to a luxury resort, the service and attention to detail need to be improved. Information regarding the resorts facilities is barely outlined non the website and no further illumination is offered in the rooms. Although room service is offered, the extension listed on the menu and on the website is incorrect. The restaurant service is extremely slow and unprofessional. Also, there are charges for every small thing. Day 1 at breakfast , and after a 15 minute wait for any attention, I ordered a bowl of yogurt, still water and a pot of tea which came to $50. When I asked for an additional tea bag I was charged $3. Concierge assistance for cabs, local information and travel guidance is graciously provided but with limited effect. Waits for cabs are lengthy. All in all this resort has great potential but needs to considerably up their game.

I cannot say enough about Long Bay Beach Resort! The entire visit, despite being in a pandemic, was very enjoyable and was the perfect (peaceful) getaway after being stowed away at home for the past year.
Akil was wonderful and attentive. Every concern or question we needed answered, he was quick to offer solutions to enable us to focus on our stay. For example, we didn’t know we needed a COVID-19 test to return to the USA. Akil arranged for us to go get our tests and utilized his contacts to ensure we had the most up to date information. After that, we didn’t worry about the test until the day came. Another example is when we asked Akil to help us find food unique to the island and he arranged for us to have a meal delivered, which turned out to be delicious and was the perfect end to our stay.
Long bay is a well-manicured resort with the beach just steps away from your door, especially if your have a ground floor room. The restaurant food was good and had variations each day. Plus, the staff was friendly. It’s a quaint resort so you often feel like you’re on a private island! We wish we were able to try the cocktails but bar was closed due to COVID restrictions enacted by the government.
Some minor recommendations:
1. Full privacy curtains (blackout) for the ground floor rooms or set them up to be similar to the bathroom doors. 2. Umbrellas that are solid to allow for full coverage from the sun.
Other tips for travelers:
1. There’s a grocery’s about a mile or so up the road. You can get local snacks, candy (if you have a sweet tooth like me) and water bottles/Gatorade for just a $1 USD. 2. Be brave and try renting a car. There’s a local one which is super affordable. This can allow you to see the island at your own pace without the price tag of a tour.
To Akil and the rest of the staff, my friend and I hope to see you all again soon. We can’t wait to return!

Generally excellent with one a few disappointments. The facility is attractive and our room was right on the beach, which is very nice you can’t swim there because of the coral. They offer a ride to a different beach but it is hard to swallow the room rate and not be able to swim in the ocean outside your door. There is a lovely pool with a swim up bar. The other concern was having to pay $8 a bottle for water in the restaurant. There were four of us and we were paying over $50 a meal (4 bottles)when the mandatory 15% service charge is included! No tap water is offered. Mini bars are always crazy and this one was not an exception: $7.50 for a small bag of chips. On the plus side, the rooms were very comfortable and attractive. The bed was great. The ac controls were, however, confusing for us. Be sure they show you how to use them. We had to call for help. The restaurant has excellent food. I especially Iiked the pan fried red snapper. The blt on a toasted baguette was a delicious lunch item. The service was island leisurely but very pleasant. The ambience is top notch. We might return when they don’t charge so much for water. It’s a real turn off.

Long Bay Beach Resort is an excellent place to stay if you’re spending time on Tortola. As soon as we arrived, Akil met us with rum punches in hand. From there he showed us to our room and then brought us to the resort restaurant for dinner.
The Ground Floor Suite is well appointed and spacious. There is a small refrigerator available to store anything you need chilled. There is a coffee/tea area with an electric kettle, French press, cups, ground coffee, and an assortment of teas.
The bed and pillows were comfortable. There was an indoor sitting area that had a great view of the ocean if you wanted to sit inside. Outdoors, there was a large patio with nice outdoor furniture and an overhead fan if the ocean breezes can’t keep you cool.
The room is right on the beach, so it is very easy to access everything Long Bay Beach has to offer. When you are ready to come back in, there is a spigot to hose the sand off of your feet/legs before you come in to shower off. The shower area is large and has a door connected to your patio area so you don’t have to track sand/water through your room. The outside wall of the shower is glass, so you can let light in, but there is a wall switch to make the glass frosted to protect your privacy as desired.
The rest of the resort is nice and kept clean. The restaurant, 1784, has a good menu with a variety of options. There is also a bar with some swing chairs if you want to swing and drink with a perfect view.
We almost always saw Akil when we were walking around the resort and he made it clear that he was always available to us if we needed anything. He was able to provide us with a good dinner suggestion when we were interested in eating off-resort. He arranged dinner reservations and a cab for us. He was always upbeat and it made our time there much more enjoyable.
Overall, Long Bay Beach Resort is well worth the visit if you are staying in Tortola and are looking for an upscale resort with spacious rooms, great views, and wonderful people.

What a beautiful place! We really enjoyed our stay at Long Bay, and much of it had to do with an incredible guy-Akil. He seemed to be always available and was extremely helpful. If we needed a taxi, a rental car, or wanted to do anything or needed advice, he was always ready to assist us. The resort is well made, we initially checked into a hillside room, but moved to a beach room, which we highly recommend. You can fall asleep listening to the waves as they lap the beach. The room was very comfortable as was the bed. We made ourselves coffee every morning with the complimentary french press and Italian mineral water. The shower is very large with a big rainwater head and has a window which allows you to view the ocean while showering, but also has a switch to make the window opaque for privacy! We were very busy diving, etc, so it was nice to come back to the resort and walk down the beach. The entire hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

This was our first visit to the BVI and we are already planning our return to Long Bay Beach Resort! As many have written and we can confirm this location and the quality of the units is absolutely amazing. There is no other resort on Tortola that has a comparable truly white sand on the beach luxury suite access as this resort. The pictures do not even do it justice.
After my wife and I renewed our vows on St Thomas after 27 years of marriage we decided there could not be a more romantic place to spend our second honeymoon than at Long Bay and the BVI. We were not disappointed! Days before our arrival Akil contacted me to confirm the time of our arrival and if there was anything they could do special for our arrival. When we did arrive much later than expected Akil personally and warmly welcomed us with rum punch in hand! After a long days travel this was a perfect start. We were also very hungry and before even asking Akil offered if there was something he could have prepared for us even though the kitchen was closed.
The courtesy and anticipation of our needs was consistent throughout our stay from all staff members. From arranging day sailing charters, taxis, or tours Akil and his team made coordinating activities effortless. The housekeeping team also was outstanding in anticipating our needs. Oh and their linens, robes, towels, furniture is all exceptional quality like we have experienced at Ritz Carlton’s etc.
Although there is no pool we did not need or want for one, with the white sand beaches with private palapa, loungers, and the teal blue warm, swimming, snorkelling and surfing waters right outside you door!
The food was delicious and such charm the restaurant has. From exceptional sushi, and fresh fish entrees to succulent rib eyes and great wines. A romantic sunset dinner at their restaurant is a must. They have live music on Thursday and Friday nights which was fantastic and made for so much fun dancing bare feet in the sand under the stars. From Caribbean rhythms to classic rock and pop my wife loved all the playlist!
This side of the island is definitely quieter which is exactly the tropical paradise and relaxed pace we hoped for. It has the best beaches (Long Bay is the best beach on Tortola) restaurants, lush vegetation, vistas, sunsets, access to Jost and other islands for day trips and day charters.
We can attest that if you stay at Long Bay Beach Resort, like Akil likes to say, everything will be”Coolio!”
