This is one of my top best and most memorable vacation ever!
from the very first moment of arrival we felt the warmth of everyone at la zebra.
the grounds are beautiful and well kept. The rooms are spacious and the bed was comfortable, my husband and I slept like rocks. Only suggestion I have is that a hotel like this should have robes for the room. Every morning our room was put back together and in the evening they did turn down and left tea and chocolates with flowers.
La zebra has entertainment but not that blaring annoying music all day that most resorts have, no one is chasing you around to get you to play pool games or volleyball or any of those things and yet all the staff is there to ask if you need anything with a simple gesture.
The beach beds are comfortable, I loved just relaxing and dipping in the ocean without a care in the world. La zebra keeps the beach clean, constantly raking the sargassum all day, drinks are very good, I got hooked on sour mezcal!
La zebra is perfect for families as well and I’d love to come back and bring my two kids.
Everything at la zebra is well curated and fits in within the tulum vibe, they have security at the entrance of hotel and in the beach area, we felt safe all the time.
La zebra has the chefs table dinner and if you’re thinking about it DO IT!!book it as soon as you get there, you will not be disappointed, it was an extremely amazing culinary experience, the chefs and the whole team are very passionate on what they do! Thank you Chefs, you all made our dinner celebration that much more special!
We want to thank Beto at the beach bar as well as all the staff in the restaurant and bar. Isaias is a rockstar in concierge and I forgot the other guy who is there as well, they’re so helpful and friendly.
I could go on about our vacation but really it’s a perfect location, amazing hotel and amazing service, i’m still dreaming about it!

When we were in Tulum 18 months ago, we accidentally ended up at the beach bar at LaZebra. It was then that we decided that was where we would stay when we returned for our son's wedding in Tulum. Because of COVID, our original reservation dates had to be changed ... no problem. Not only was Calibri totally accommodating, but they willingly credited us with the difference in the nightly room rate. From the moment we checked in (after the required hand washing and temperature reading), we were treated with the utmost respect and professionalism. FLOR welcomed us and took us to our lovey sea-view with plunge pool room and showed us around. Throughout our stay, we had many "special requests" pertaining to wedding party gatherings at the beach, an extra room for our son and his groomsmen to get ready in, constant requests for ice and bottled water, etc. Beto and Erick were totally "on it". They treated us like royalty! On the day of the wedding, Cynthia and Flor were our "go to girls". They ordered delicious snacks from the restaurant for the boys to eat and requested a "late" cleaning of the room so the bride and groom had a nice room to come back to.
Overall, La Zebra was absolutely First Class! We highly recommend it!

From our arrival to our departure the folks at La Zebra made our time there so wonderful!

As we arrived, we were offered cool towels and margaritas (or our drink of choice) to refresh us from our travels. The room was so clean and nicely set up - they even added birthday balloons and a sign for my fiance's birthday. The restaurant and the cabana food and service was so good! The staff is very friendly and accommodating to whatever we needed to make our stay comfortable. The filtered water provided in the room was great to have on hand and would be replenished at the time if we needed more. La Zebra provided toiletries like natural shampoo, conditioner, body wash, q-tips, etc but our favorite was the natural bug repellent! We brought some of our own but theirs smelled much better and worked well enough for us. Every night the turndown service surprised us with new teas (delivered hot in a thermistor), chocolates, and other surprises. We got a beachfront ocean-view suite with the patio and it just near the beach and restaurant the noise was never too much. The front desk staff was always extremely helpful when needed anythings; tips on where to eat, reservations, questions about how to navigate Tulum, etc. We also used the transportation service scheduled by La Zebra and the process was very seamless. All in all, we all had a great time in Tulum and our experience at La Zebra was the icing on the cake!

La Zebra was a superb choice for my wife & I to take our 3.5 year old daughter to. We considered bigger resorts but having the beach only steps away from plus our own day bed on the beach where we could relax & watch her play in the sand was perfect. The staff were all very attentive to any need we had & the food was delicious for breakfast, lunch, snacks & dinner. We chose the 2nd floor "sea view" room instead of opting for a room with a plunge pool on the 1st floor because we felt our daughter wouldn't be able to run to the beach when we weren't looking. We were right & would choose the same room type again even without a child because the upstairs patios are more private & the views more amazing.

There are only 3 things in general I wish were different & I am reporting them here mainly because the caring staff wanted me to voice my complaints so they could improve the guest experience.

1) I wish you could start a tab versus having to close out every time you ordered something. I realize the hotel gets many outside visitors so they don't want people walking tabs. Perhaps guests staying at the hotel could wear wristbands so they can make it easier? Having to do the currency exchange in my head along with factoring in a tip was sometimes stressful. :)

2) Coffee is not available until 7:30am so I had to go next door to Alaya for my early morning fix because at least they open at 7am. It also costs $4 per cup making refills expensive. However, to be fair, almost every place on Tulum Beach charges the same & La Zebra does provide a coffee maker in the rooms (which I could never figure out).

3) As amazing as the beach is, we would have also enjoyed hanging out & sitting at the swim-up bar at La Zebra's rooftop pool. It is super cool but unfortunately the water was always freezing!!!!!

Dear Mr. Joel Meadows & Family, We would like to sincerely thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We are thrilled that you loved our hotel and specially the staff, the beach, the food and the sea view room. We also want to thank you for your honest feedback about some particular experiences and we would to inform you that we take seriously our guests comments and responding to the points mentioned: We have certain privileges for our guests with regard to consumption: you can always charge all your consumptions to your room without closing separate accounts by point of sale, only by giving your room number we make the difference, f you have recently arrived at the hotel, however we generally recognize our guests in the following days of your stay. Regarding the coffee, it is correct that the regular restaurant service starts at 7:30 am, however we are aware that many customers like to have coffee available earlier, which is why our night concierge is trained to offer you the Coffee of your choice if is requested, at the time of your preference (plus the complementary coffee in the room, we leave in from of the coffee machine the instructions how to use it, and we are also ready to assist you any time) and last but not least, we have great news about the pool: Now we have heater and now you can enjoy the warm water in our pool. We are already looking for to welcoming you back and show you our improvements, Our best regards from La Zebra Team!

This hotel is the perfect mix of relaxed bohemian with a friendly hip vibe. Beach club is easy to stay at all day long with no pretentious feel. Food and drinks are delicious.
Rooms are large and although we didn’t bring kids, there is a good set up for family with the pullout bed. It actually was very comfortable. I checked. Lol.

My recommendation is to get the beachfront rooms if possible, as you can see the ocean from the bed. Beach view you can see ocean from balcony. We had room 1 and the pool was super private. We felt it was the best room in whole hotel with exception of penthouse
Plenty of Fresh water Was Provided in the room and tea and snack provided at night.
Restaurant prices were reasonable and service was very polite and attentive without being too much.

We will return for sure and if you are thinking of booking don’t wait!

I was nervous traveling during the COVID pandemic but felt extremely secure at La Zebra and had one of the best vacations of my life! The staff is incredible, we loved being checked-in by Marbel ... she was attentive and a joy to see through out our trip. She even remembered my birthday & sent a bottle of champagne over to our plunge pool. In general, the whole resort was very clean & staff kept their masks on 24/7. The restaurant is outdoors with an open-air roof, and tables were more than 6 feet apart. The food was simply amazing (the best meals we had in Tulum were actually at the hotel). The Shrimp Ceviche Auguachile was the perfect lunch .... gourmet flavors! And the fresh watermelon juice was my favorite afternoon snack. Tulum does have a seaweed problem, but the staff at La Zebra cleans the beach every single day. If you walk along the beach you will see that most other resorts don't do this. I can't say enough, really, the whole place was clean and relaxing & the staff so attentive. I will certainly return! PS, I also feel they have the best location in Tulum, on the nicest beach & still walking distance to the famous restaurants like Hartwood, Gitano and the new Meze (a Greek style tavern created by the Gitano group).

We travelled with our two young children right after new years. We had been to this hotel a year earlier to have drinks at the Mulberry project and liked it so much we came back to stay here. Overall it exceeded expectations. The room was cool. Our 2 and 4 year old loved the plunge pool and if you call in the evening, they will turn the heat up to essentially turn it into a private hot tub.

The beach in front of this hotel is one of the best in all of Mexico. Soft sand, no rocks, minimal sea weed. If you are a morning person, the sunrises here are awesome.

The food was very good at the restaurant and when we ordered room service. Also, the room service prices are surprisingly pretty reasonable which was nice.

The beds were very comfortable and the walls are thick enough that you could barely hear the base thumping down the road until 4am.

One minor complaint was the service at the restaurant. We ordered guac, chips, and chicken strips and fries for the kids and waited almost an hour with hungry, rambunctious kids. No attempt at service recovery. If you have kids or are in a hurry, I would not dine at the restaurant and would recommend just having food brought to your cabana or doing room service.

This was my first time visiting Tulum with my children and as a long time visitor I was unsure what their experience would be, with so many properties catering to adults only. La Zebra provides a perfect long stay base for trips with children, child friendly staff, menus and facilities, as well as other age appropriate guests to socialise with means they are kept entertained in a safe and welcoming space. The beachfront is expansive, well staffed and with a mixture of furnishings for relaxing. The staff work tirelessly to keep the water front accessible irrespective of the amount of sargassum a storm might bring in. The hotel is within moments of some of the most notable restaurants, cafes and ice cream parlours on the Beach Road. Perhaps the most notable feature is the management. I believe that in a market saturated with ever heightening ‘luxury’ in terms of fixtures and fittings, true luxury is determined by service and nothing is too much for the team here, who will work tirelessly to ensure your experience is exactly the one you hoped for.

Tulum is one of the most unique places in the world and Le Zebra hotel was the perfect compliment to call home for 2 day's. Located in the hotel zone along the beach. It's ability to create modern simple luxury whilst the architecture was still in keeping with the jungle theme is ingenious. Our room was on the ground level and enjoyed a wonderful plunge pool. (Which I used more than I ever thought I would).

The room itself is large and clean with wonderful high ceilings and beautiful touches such as the water jugs. The staff were very pleasant, the food was out of this world! We ordered room service on the first night and perhaps it was the best room serve we have ever enjoyed anywhere.

The beach chairs are beautiful, the setting breathtaking. A perfect hotel in a perfect beach town.

Staff was more than accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. These people were ALL amazing from the waiters to maintenance, housekeeping, front-desk concierge and beyond! The hotel is honestly in the perfect location along the beach with enough room to be plenty comfortable but still condensed enough to be inviting and feel safe. The beach was flawless with picturesque aqua water and absolutely ZERO seaweed. We, in our opinion had the best beachfront room..number 32. I highly recommend this room for the views and ease of access to everything. The rooms were decorated beautifully and were spacious and well laid out. I honestly cannot think of ONE single complaint other than possibly adding “free breakfast” in the future. Every food item we ordered was perfectly prepared and delicious from the first to the last bite. We stayed at Mi Amor for the second half of our stay but would have stayed at La Zebra in a heartbeat if our room would have been available for more days.

Hi, I used a company called Mayaland in Cancun - outside from the hotel. Its good to compare prices. They were very good. I paid £90.00 (UK pounds) one way to Cancun Airport. Ask for Carlos Medina.
